That’s been a sticking point for me. It’s hard to imagine anyone doing that to the kids. She doesn’t sound like she is a delinquent mother.
Well, normal people wouldn't do that to their kids. She's not normal. She's a disturbed sociopathic nut bag.
*NOT my opinion only.

I found myself being so terribly sad as I read the some what chronological outline of events that led to this awful outcome.

My major concern is for those children - they are at such vulnerable ages and it seems they have been manipulated & deceived by their Mother !!

My thoughts are also with Simon. ..he’s not only been so badly treated but imo it’s pretty clear that he was also a target for her ‘it’s my way or the 6ft under way’ elimination practices 🙄

How does he navigate this as a Dad I wonder ..

Dark irony. How to tell the children...

Which was the bait Erin used to lure her guests to her murder lunch....

And the very people who would help Simon with this impossible task are DEAD, by her hand. Miracle of miracles that Ian survived. Really thst Ian and Simon survived.

Erin murdered people who did her no harm, good people. That is a wicked kind of evil.

EXCLUSIVE

The most damning evidence against Erin Patterson can be revealed at last - as we expose CCTV video of what she did just 30 MINUTES after her deadly lunch.

Why on earth was this evidence not included in the trial?

For those that can't access the link, there is CCTV footage of her at the tip around 3.30pm on the day of the lunch. She dumps a bunch of flattened cardboard into the cardboard bin, then carries a non flattened box over. And apparently also dumps a garbage bag. It's not exactly clear what she disposed of, but the suggestion is that it is the plates etc from the lunch. Whatever it was, she certainly wasn't at home binging on leftover cake.

Thanks for this. Maybe a little bit too speculative even for the DM.

"Patterson also dumped some other rubbish from behind the boot of the car.
It was almost impossible to tell from the footage what rubbish was dumped.
Police sources suspected that Patterson dumped more than just cardboard at the tip after the lunch, but the contents were never found.
It is now widely believed that Patterson hid the plates she used to serve herself and her doomed guests in the cardboard that she dumped at the tip on the day of the lunch.
The remains of what was left of her guests' deadly leftovers were also likely dumped at the tip at the same time, so the theory goes."

Snippets from the longer article, bolded by me.

I understand this, but IMO EP doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt here.

I'd have been interested to hear how often she went to the tip in general, was this a routine thing or not for instance.

Regardless, it is another of those bizarre coincidences that seem to follow her around.

Good grief, it gives me the feeling this prosecution was being hamstrung. They should at least have been able to use it to show she lied about her activities if she failed to mention it.

Thank goodness it didn't actually affect the outcome of the trial!

Just a guess but due to prejudice perhaps?

Also, the charges against Erin for the attempted murder of Simon were dropped.
My impression is that they were dropped, but there was no reason they could not be pursued at a later date. The issue, in my opinion, would be evidence. If poison was not discovered at the time, then it would be hard to prove.

Since there was a conviction for the murders, the searate attempted murder charges would probably not make any difference - perhaps a concurrent sentence if found guilty.

You can read it on the archive site

TY Sarahlou

For some reason the link to the video is google-able & usable even if the article isn’t:
(Personally I don't think trying to 'disappear' plates in with the cardboard recycling at a tip would work)

This visit doesn’t seem to show up on the court exhibit listing tip visits:

Apparently the tip is an 11 min drive down the Bass Highway.
(And about another 10 mins back round to Leongatha Hospital)

Oh the timing of the tip run is suspicious as hell but I meant they probably took it down to revise the wording.

Her defence must have argued successfully! Wow!
