Australia AUSTRALIA - 4YO AUGUST (GUS) Missing from rural family home in Outback, Yunta, South Australia, 27th Sept 2025

They look to me to be "white" sheep. Sheep are never truly white, at best they're a very dirty white/cream, bordering on grey. Then of course you have other breeds like your dorpers that come with a black head.

well that's confusing lol
I did wonder if they were merely dirty

For those questioning the state of the roads out there, this might give a glimpse into what they are like

I get 'page not available at the moment'.

How on earth has the family been able to continue managing the work there, the sheep etc. It's hard daily work keeping ahead with the chores and sheep on such a huge property. It's been three weeks. Have they had any help?
Yes they were described as stoic....in front of others but no doubt they are suffering privately.
Stoic is how a lot of country people deal with the hardships of remote living. Even with death. (I'm not saying Gus is dead, I'm using it as an example). You just have to keep going.

Imo there has been no mention (perhaps they adequately told DM to p#ss off, but I doubt that would stop a story)

My hinky meter is currently wobbly.. . nothing feels ‘adequate’ to me, and I don’t know if that’s even the right adjective.

I get there’s disharmony between Josh & a Grandma - but surely circumstances such as this outweigh those differences.

It baffles me that Jess wouldn’t be wanting / needing the support of her reported partner and father of her missing child (+ one ) Similarly it baffles me that Josh isn’t there with her. He’s reported to have searched one night early on, but he’s not stayed around to be of support to Jess or on hand for any bit of information.

Little Gus should be enjoying the blissfully happy & innocent days of childhood. Wherever he is now, my thoughts and prayers are with him in his journey.

[bbm]

we don't actually know how often he's been there

I’m no expert, but these sheep look freshly shorn to me. Perhaps there are, or have been recently, shearers staying on the property to do the shearing?
And it looks like more work ahead too with the couple of lambs seen in the pic still have their tails attached. So the lambs will be due for museling (extremely severe form of tail docking) - if they do this, any day, before the weather gets any warmer. And also would usually mark the new sheep usually with ear tags.

I was also approached by DM after making a comment on a news report on social media. I chose to decline, but I can just imagine how they would have twisted my words to suit the narrative. They're good at finding a way in, a so called "scoop" just for click bait.
They're no different than other "popular" news sources or mass market media in the UK which have paid for news stories, "popular interest" stories and photographs for many decades. Finding stories in the first place is as much part of "investigative" journalism as digging up the dirt on the stories they've found.

Why the need to hide a child's body if it was genuinely an accident though? If a child was well loved and cared for and died in an accident then the family would be distraught. It would be very difficult for everyone to keep that quiet. I don't see why you would.

Most people would not. Most people would call 000.

There's no evidence police have found a hidden body from an accident.
