No wonder people think they see thylacines in Nannup if this a a typical road through farming properties in Nannup. One could hide here for years and never be found.

A bit OT here... pardon me while I geek out on the paleobiology and evolution of T. cynocephalsus. Fascinating species... a marsupial dog?

Leaving a few things here now to come back to later.

Reports of alleged thylacine sightings in Western Australia

Putting this here so I can find it.

And this:

And this:

The thylacine hunters somehow remind me of the :heartbeat: troll hunter :heartbeat: Classic moco.

A bloke boasted in a forum in 2009 that he had three guns, and that he kept Deer on his former property in Nannup for hunting. http://www.sportfishworld.com/sfwboard/viewtopic.php?p=4877&sid=143fe9cb3e7a67e254890dc079552b1a

Note the web address on the bottom of Islander's post, takes you to a Mr ShannLow, then googling around Nannup brings up a former property at the end of a long driveway that backs onto a river

and the street view of the entrance to that property

Sold in 2006 by private treaty.

Less than half it's worth now, apparently.

Seems to fit the posts by the bloke on another forum years ago who lost his business and had to sell up because he reckoned that the missing cult people stole his mail and then later posted that "Simon" was an MI5 spy out to get him. His username was

I recall reading posts by that forum user and they mentioned the building of a shed with concrete hardstand. It was unclear to me at the time if the shed was built in an industrial or residential area and also unsure of the timing. What I do remember is that the poster was an instant expert at construction and proceeded to tell fellow woodworkers how it's done properly. One way to find out when and where the shed was built is to use google earth with 2003 snapshot vs 2010 historical snapshot to identify new works on those sites. Concrete is not very good for the environment but it has been used in past crimes to hide a multitude of sins.

Here are two snapshots from 2003 and 2010 of that general residential area of interest:

I wonder what sort of breed?
Sold prized dogs.
I wonder, if they were advertised online or as a notice in the fish n chip shop window?
Either way, the POI probably saw the adverts.
Nether mentioned in the POIs posts on that cult forum about this case though.

The puppy looks like a cocker spaniel IMO. I am not a dog breeder so will seek a second option on this. Nice find. They're not cheap...

I thought cocker spaniel also. My next guess would be Irish setter.

Look at Leela's face/ eyes in that picture! She sure did love that dog. I bet her little heart broke in a million pieces when they were sold.

Chantele would've had to make sure Leela was satisfied that they went to a home home. Maybe a farmer, or a nice family. Probably went out to the buyers property as well. IMO

Yeah... So here in the USA we have the american kennel club (AKC) through which thoroughbred dogs are registered and get their papers. Or so it was once upon a time... Now I am curious about the paper trail for dogs in WA.

Also, you don't just buy 'prize dogs' on a whim. Methinks there is a history of the breed within one of the families. Example: We always had German Shepherds. That connect comes from my mother, who has loved the breed all of her life.

Is there a cocker spaniel breeder near Nannup? Which family carried the love for the breed? Who did they but then from? Who did they sell them to?

A timely discussion on dogs. What if a local Nannup POI had a big boat that he used to do his dirty deeds. "Come with me I'll get you out of the country". What if the same POI purchases a trained cadaver dog. The dog can deployed on fruitless searches and provide a source of revenue. Families may have raised funds to deploy the outfit. A great cover indeed for someone with or without a launch to drop into the ocean.

Yes I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and although she is not registered with the kennel club I know what you are referring too.

I thought Springer Spaniel or a "Sprocker." May have to double check with my fellow spaniel friends! There could well be a trace there.

Thanks, kpetrova_x! That would be very helpful. That is the only picture I have seen with a dog. I don't know anything about spaniels, and would appreciate any input you can offer. [emoji275]

The Nannup Telegraph is a very interesting local paper.

It might be worth delving through. Here are the sort of articles you’ll see:

Good to hear an update on the once-proposed Yarragadee aquifer project from Bee.
