Hi everyone. I am a Victorian journalist (not covering this story, I work regionally) but it's got me and my colleagues obsessed.
First of all, my TV news colleague was walking this track Saturday during the day. A few things: She noticed how nearly everyone had a black Labrador and how easily it would be for someone to be either pushed or fall off the track and have the body swept away from the rocks below.
Another thing I'd like to see verified is a rumour, so I am making this VERY clear it's just hearsay and not to be run with as a piece of compelling evidence (at this stage).
My TV news colleague is engaged to a criminal lawyer. He told her yesterday, as we were discussing the case, that he'd heard the pair had a fight and Elisa told the neighbour (or someone close) that it was over. Due to his role, and hers, he has refused to tell her where he heard this so we cannot substantiate the claim. I assume there's off the record discussions going on in the legal community across Victoria and this is where he's come across this information.
Has anyone else heard this?
It would explain why Elisa was alone at the holiday home and he took the kids to the grand final. I am now speculating that should it be confirmed he was at the GF, what did he do later that night?
I'll be following this thread and contributing where I can.
The latest release from Victoria Police media (issued Tuesday 03/10/17)
"Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing woman Elisa Curry.
The 43-year-old was last seen at a residence on Aireys Street, Aireys Inlet about 10pm on Saturday night.
Police and family members hold concerns for Elisa’s welfare as her disappearance is out of character.
Elisa is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 167cm tall with an athletic build, brown eyes and brown shoulder length hair.
It is not known what clothing she might be wearing.
Specialist police including search and rescue, the air-wing, water police, mounted branch and members on dirt bikes are searching the Great Otway National Park and waters off the south west coast.
State Emergency Service personnel along with Parks Victoria staff are assisting with the search of tracks and bushland within a 20 kilometre radius of Aireys Inlet.
Anyone who sights Elisa or has information is urged to contact Triple Zero (000)."
