Pretty risky murdering your wife, too. But too many people do it.
I agree he may have dumped Karen then relocated her later, to what he deemed to be a better spot. Maybe took the old shovel and tried to dig a decent spot. Because it sounds as though he may not have been gone long enough to dig and dump (not even sure why I get that impression).

But it sounds as though even the initial dumping was likely at Mt Macedon.

I have always been interested in the point soso raised on a previous page, about phone pings at night. Perhaps on a return trip, with Vasko?

On the same night, Mr Ristevski's phone was detected by another tower on Calder Highway near Diggers Rest.

I think the same about the dig and dump SouthAussie, primarily because he turned his cell phone off for two hours. This is supposition, but it's likely he turned it back on when he got home. This hardly gives him time to do everything. I can't find anywhere where it states the actual times he turned it off and on, but it would be so useful to know.

My new working hypothesis is that he stopped at Digger's Rest to turn his mobile off, then at Gisborne to dispose of Karen's mobile. Then he went on to Mt Macedon and dumped Karen's body. He returned in the evening, possibly with VR who was familiar with the area. As the profiler surmised it took two of them to carry her body the distance of 50m. There were two separate witnesses who possibly saw them. Then there is BR's cell phone ping again in the area. JMO as always.

soso's link below provides the time that Borce's phone was switched off. This is the article where Borce invited the reporter in to speak to him ... and spoke primarily about his healthy finances.

Critically Mr Ristevski’s phone was switched off for two hours between 10.30am and 2pm.
The information led police to focus their search for Mrs Ristevski in the north-west of Melbourne, urging rural owners to check their properties for any signs of disturbance.

Borce says he drove to the Calder Park Raceway and back, but CCTV has the car at the railway crossing at Digger's Rest at 11:12am, that day.
I would imagine the phone pings will be in the vicinity at around that time, too.

They are closing in, Borce!!!!

I have been out of telecommunication range all day. My partner arrived home and said "have you heard". I told him to say nothing until I signed into Websleuths, in catch up mode.

What sort of car does VR drive? Was it a white one?

Still in catch up mode. I do a drive by from week to week the last time I saw BR entering Oakley he was driving solo in a grey large/4 wheel drive type of vehicle.

Oh thanks south and soso. I read that one today again too. I'm slipping in my sleuthing. IT WASN'T ABOUT THE FINANCES, okay? My wife is missing, but everything is sooo pearly financially.

That's not a lot of time to do what he needed to do, if you include concealment. The round trip is around about about an hour from memory, right?

But those times stated in the article are actually 3 1/2 hours. So we could take a guess and say the phone was switched off at about 11:12 ish near Diggers and then turned back on at when and where?

It is also possible that the phone was not switched off for two consecutive hours.

I'm guessing he turned it back on when he returned home soso, otherwise we would have heard about pings on the return journey, unless LE are keeping that to themselves of course. That would be the logical thing to do also. Illogical to leave it on that evening though, since he had already realised he had made a mistake earlier with the phones.

I agree does not seem to be enough time and in broad daylight.

I am still really curious as to the many hours from when Karen left work on the 28th until 10:00am when Borce claims she grabbed her bag, purse and $850 and might have walked down the street to clear head. Because according to him the last very words she she said "Can't do it here"

The police currently where not going to confirm it either way today. Not sure if any locals have seen it parked in the shed there.

Never seen a Merc in the drive or surrounding streets. Only BR and SR and an old Corolla. Have the number plates of the Corolla if anybody is interested.

Hi Emerates. It has been the most interesting day. I've been glued, GLUED I say, to the screen all day. Got told off too before for being "unavailable".

I'm sure this has been thought of previously, but did the Merc have any distinguishing features do you remember? In one of the photos it looks like it has a dent below the driver's window. The CCTV footage is so blurry anyway, but I'm thinking a car buff might be able to tell if there was something specifically different about it when comparing it to today's footage.

I tend to think he didn't have accomplices. I think VR's theories come from reading webslueths type speculation. It came very close to the same stuff written here. A friend of Sarah's had written a comment, later deleted, that outlined her travel OS for her business as a rebuttal to claims about their financial situation, that sparked it.

I keep coming back to how an extensive search was conducted on the very near where Jill Meagher was buried. I wonder if by going to the left of the Calder he was scouting for locations, based on his familiarity of Diggers Rest and perhaps what he knew of Jill's murder. He might have thought somewhere between Diggers and Blackhill Rd would be a good spot, which could have bought him out past Toolern Vale as well. Finding it a lot more open and exposed than Adrian Bayley would have in the early hours, has he decided to head to Macedon, in his ignorance (which I shared) of the expansive Lerderderg? Not prepared to spend a lot of time scouting a location he goes to where he knows there are trees for cover not far from roads.

I think the timing of this is about applying pressure for Borce. They don't really need the help of those other individuals, the car was behind them anyway. An eyewitness elicited 12 months later isn't going to count for much alongside CCTV, pings, motive, access and logic of what they already have. I think this is a provocation, especially heading up to the first anniversary.

DI How concerned are you that this might go cold?
Facial Expression: Looks down and shakes head. "I'm not concerned.''

Confident that you will catch the person?
Facial Expression: Looks down to left. "You can never say never." ''But I have every confidence in the investigators.'' Looks left.

How is sarah doing? Tough for her?
Looks down and nods. "I can imagine it would be'' Looks Down ''I haven't had any dealings with Sarah personally.''

Does it motivate you for people like Sarah to close cases like this?
Looks left/away from journalist. Popping mouth sound. Nods head. "It does." Nods head and looks left. "I think the truth is what motivates you.''

Is there any GPS evidence...?
Looks up and left. "I can't tell you any of that at the moment.'' Nods head more than once.

When did you get the CCTV?
Head bounces, eyes straight left. ''I cant tell you the exact date, we've had it for a period of time.''

What can you tell us about the pings from the 29th?
Shakes head. Looks straight. "I'm not going to comment on the phones.'' Hand movement. ''This is about the cars".

Driver has something to do with the other cars?
Shakes head. Looks straight. ''No, no". I don't think I have heard anyone suggest that. "Looks down and left''.

What are your hopes for the interaction?
Looks up and bits lower lip. "Well, we see the convoy of six cars'' Waving Hand signal. "Close Proximity'' Looks down left "And the car at rear.'' Looks right. Hand explaining. ''Whether the sequence of those car where different half a km down the road and overtook and saw something unusual we just don't know.''
....."See a left hand panel view of all the cars.'' Touches nose.

And there was no cars behind that last car?
Looks straight. "No, no. But there might have been minutes or hours later. Who knows.''

Eye Signature
Straight Ahead: Visualizing
Down Left: Kinesthetic Checking out feelings
Left: Auditory, does it sound right?
Right: Auditory: Remembering Sounds
Right Down: Having internal dialogue
Up left: Visualizing. Constructing imagining visually lying.
Up right: Remembering Images Visualizing

The last part where the DI talks about cars a few minutes later sparked my curiosity. It sounds like he would have had that conversation with someone else before. Is there more cars involved?

If your interested in body language recently read an excellent book What Every Body Is Saying by Joe Navaro ex FBI Profiler, "Chapter Three, the most honest part of the body, to reveal a persons true intentions your feet and legs win the honesty award".

Oh, I hadn't thought of that! That makes sense. Perhaps he turned it off at 10.30 and then back on when he got to Digger's Rest. Would love to see his phone calls that day.

One of the journos asked about mud on the car flaps and external forensics. The DI seemed to indicate that yes, there would be forensics like that.

As you say, they likely still need to get that little bit more evidence that it was Borce inside the car at the time.

Still remember Alioop (hope thats correct) in reference to GBC's circumstantial evidence all those tiny pieces of twine will eventually develop into a rope. Let's hope.

Still in catch up mode, haven't watched the footage as yet. Good friend of mine who joined the police force recently is a big time car buff......would like to refer the image and see what is says.
