The motel they stayed at was actually in Narrandera NSW not Wagga Wagga. About 3.5 hours from Canberra.
Gruesome thought had occurred. That he put Khandalyce in the suitcase in the garbage bags wrapped with duct tape and left her to suffocate.
That pic of him with his arms around Passmores youngest daughter makes me ill. This guy was creepy AF ! Why did these women lie for him and not tell police what he had done.
It's seriously [emoji19] seriously beyond me. He probably harmed other children after that they could have stopped that.

I don't think that manner of death would have allowed police to draw the conclusion they did on first finding Khandalyce, that she died an atrocious death. I think the duct tape must have been on her, mouth and nose probably, and perhaps there was material stuffed down her throat.

Someone should do that to him.

I thought I read earlier that Khandalyce did die of suffocation.

Police have previously said the child suffered a "violent death" in what was clearly "foul play" before being put in the suitcase and dumped.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-07-24/child-bones-found-in-sa-believed-to-belong-to-a-girl/6645422

Two witnesses told police that Mr Holdom made admissions about the deaths, including that he suffocated Khandalyce.

Yes; but if all there was to it was her presence in a taped-up plastic bag, I think they wouldn't have known how she'd died or whether she'd been placed there dead or alive.

Good point. Maybe he said he suffocated her because it would sound less horrific to those people he told.

A bit more info distinguishing between the witnesses.

https://m.thechronicle.com.au/news/accused-killer-brags-crushing-throat-mum-court-hea/3216375/

It is alleged Holdom admitted to two woman he had killed Ms Pearce-Stevenson and Khandalyce.

One woman, who was with Holdom for several years, told police "over time the accused revealed more details to eventually telling her that he'd … stomped on Ms Pearce-Stevenson's throat, crushed her windpipe and left her body beside a log".

"The accused told (the woman) he had killed Pearce by suffocating … and he'd thrown her body off the side of a highway," Mr Mabbutt said as he read the Crown statement.

She told police later she found photographs of Ms Pearce-Stevenson's body on his phone's memory card. She also found a picture of Khandalyce asleep in a car seat.

At the time she never reported her discoveries to police and only revealed it after Holdom was arrested and she was questioned.

Another woman made a diary entry in 2013 in which she noted that Holdom had confessed to her that he had murdered the mother and daughter.

Both women and three other witnesses have had their identities suppressed by court order.

Thanks Symbah, we are starting to get a clearer picture of how things unfolded.
My assumption is that first woman BBM would be HP and the second would be that teenager from Canberra that he was engaged to briefly. Of course there may have been other women he was involved with that we don't know about.

Wonder where the Walleroo but came about. Maybe a witness got the town name wrong and they later checked phone records and bank records and found it was somewhere else.

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/ne...e/news-story/3b8cc6babbaaa7fde4010401abaeb279

The creep probably used her card to buy the items he murdered her daughter with.
Probably got a secret buzz every time he used it. I guess HP knew he had Karlies card and became complicit in the fraud. How she must have hated Karlie. Here she is in a wheelchair, a broken woman and he takes off with someone, much younger and prettier.

I am confused by the mentions of Wagga Wagga instead of Narrandera (they are close to 100kms apart but still on the same route to SA). The Midtown Motel, where Khandalyce was killed, is located in Narrandera, only several doors down from the Police station infact!
There are mentions of Holdom buying items from Woolworths to use in his repulsive act but, from what I can see, Narrandera does not have a Woolworths. So it seems he must have purchased the items in Wagga Wagga Woolworths prior to the 1 hour drive to Narrandera. This certainly demonstrates evidence of planning to kill her IMO.

Mr Holdom allegedly told a witness later that he stomped on Ms Pearce-Stevenson's throat and crushed her windpipe.
It is alleged Mr Holdom took a photo of the body before driving back to the ACT, where Khandalyce remained.
That photo was discovered on a SD card by a witness, who later gave it to a relative to keep in case "something happened" to the witness.

http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/scribbled...-khandalyce-pearce-alive-20170824-gy3gfz.html

I wonder who that relative was and if they knew what was on the SD card and how they didn't report this to police? Ugh!

The familiar way in which the victims are referred to makes it sound to me as if the writer knew the pair. Which the younger ex gf wouldn't have done.

Also I don't get your explanation of why the writer didn't report the matter. S/he seems to be at least somewhat outraged at the possibility that Karlie and Khandalyce are still alive, given that Holdom had told her/him he'd killed them. It seems initially s/he believed him, then became unsure because of something on Facebook and the realization that his story didn't make sense. Why didn't s/he report the matter earlier on, when she did believe it?

Hi, and welcome.

Thanks for the welcome, I just hadnt seen the quote before and was trying to understand myself how on earth this could not be reported.
When I saw the quote it immediately reminded me of the other quote from 16yr TB, where she found two phones under DH car seat. The missing a for and, and other errors seem to match. I will try to track it down and post it if I can.
As I said , just my opinion or the impression I got, especially if trying to view this from the eyes of a 16yr old would be one of fear, shock, (no way!)..and disbelief and confusion (is he for real?), as well as denial. I think I would go searching also, and that only led to more confusion for her.
I dont think it sounds she was outraged they are still alive, more exclaming the point he lied to her, and she has proved it..or caught him out again, which she also refers to in the other quote I will try to find. Anyway just my opinion as I said, trying to find some sense to all these senseless actions I guess.

One of the two women known to have been in relationships with the man accused of Karlie Pearce-Stevenson's murder kept an online diary where she documented the ups and downs of their relationship.

'Well Daniel hidden (sic) 2 diff phones under his car seat I found them and busted him now he saying it dosnt (sic) make up for what I did haha f*** you ****!' she wrote.
'Seems the lies nd (sic) sneaking has come from both sides'.

Hi everyone, first post here, but have followed these threads and read all posts here since Karlie and Kandals bodies where linked.
I came across this quote Im sure I have not seen before, that is apparently from one of the witnesses.

“Daniels lied to me! Said he killed Karlie and Khandal but there [sic] still alive! It’s all over Facebook,” it said.

“He says their dead nd [sic] he made them think she’s alive but everything he says don’t make sense.”

https://newsco.com.au/newsco-com-au...of-karlie-pearce-stevenson-khandalyce-pearce/

Although not stated, I believe it to be from the younger ex gf due to the writing style.
IMO
Found it a few pages back, thanks sosocurious.

Welcome Allunah. You can go to "my profile" at the top right of screen and see the posts you have made and click to find them from there rather than scrolling. Also click on any name and you can see their view forum posts. I am not sure if this is the same using a phone.

Thanks DRT 😃

I keep making the mistake of trying to find any sense in this case. I just noticed this from the link sosocurious posted earlier.

"The witness wrote in the diary that "they found her top" and "no one knows who she is".

A T-shirt with the word "Angelic" branded across the front was found with Ms Pearce-Stevenson's bones in 2008.

In a bid to identify the remains, police released a photograph of the T-shirt. However she remained unidentified for five years."

More on the order of the witnesses. BBM

http://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au...d/news-story/a459ed625d8cdfb5f71ffa695f4b1fb9

Crown prosecutor Victoria Engel told a committal hearing there were five witnesses who would give evidence against Holdom and asked that their identities be suppressed to protect their safety.

“Witness one and two have made statements implicating the accused in the murders,” Ms Engel told the court

“Witness five allegedly received an admission by the accused that he had killed the two persons but he didn’t report that.”

Ms Engel also said two of the witnesses (numbered two and three) were induced to make a statement to police.

Just to clarify the meaning of induced statement:

http://www.odpp.nsw.gov.au/prosecution-guidelines

An induced statement is one taken from a person on the basis that the information in the statement will not be used against the person making the statement. It is a statement from a person who is prepared to supply information relevant to the investigation of criminal activity which may tend to incriminate him or her in criminal activity and who is not otherwise prepared to supply the information.

What a decent lot of human beings these lot sound. A mother and her small child, killed, murdered in cold blood and what reason could he give for doing it?
To any normal decent person there would be nothing, no way to justify what he did - it was the most heinous cowardly act possible. Murder a defenceless young woman. Suffocate a small child. Dump her like trash. But what does this pack of gutless hyenas do? They cover his 🤬🤬🤬, and their own. And not one of the *******s who knew he did this and said nothing will see jail time.

I believe that is exactly what he told people and for the reason you state .....

It was reported when Khandalyce remains were found .... at that time unknown identity ..... the child had died an extremely violent death..

Andrew Rule wrote an article in the Herald Sun at the time ..... its subcribe only article...

But his words were "Certain fractures suggest she was bashed to death" .... this was for the remains of a toddler found in suitcase in Whynarka.

I would really like to know his form before he met HP and KP ....

Will his full history come out after his convicted of murder? ...

I hope it does all come out Puggle. I haven't read anything much re before HP, only remember more on a personal level, in foster care as a child, worked as a baker, worked in the mining industry. Can't find anything on that now.

An article written by Megan Drapalski and Dan Box back in Nov '15 (again behind a paywall), titled 'Accused Karlie Pearce-Stevenson killer easily led: ex-friend', is an interview with a former friend of Holdom's.

Paraphrasing, the former close friend says:

- DH must of been easily manipulated if he committed this murder.
- If DH did do it, it was not because he was evil. He was easily led.
- I've never seen DH attack anyone.
- DH is very gullible.
- DH was easily dominated and had a history of unhappy relationships.
- DH was looking for a mother figure, someone to dominate him.
- if you read DH's history, it would be difficult to imagine how DH managed to put one foot in front of the other.
- Someone dominated DH.
