After hearing from Greg Walsh that Dawson has a dementia diagnosis, I thought I would look and see what happens with dementia prisoners in NSW.

Seems that some murderers have been moved to Garrawarra Centre and live among resident dementia patients, as per this article from Sep 2019.

And there are two hospital facilities at Long Bay Prison that can house prisoners with dementia.

Those clicks were so sweet! I hope he hasn't really got dementia.

If he does, he might eventually tell where he put Lyn's body. With dementia, he might remember he did this crime years ago and talk about it without any inhibitions or need for lies.

There's a short podcast up on The Teachers Trial that includes a comment from Gary Jubelin.

Sorry, I don't know how to link it.

"Dawson’s twin brother, Paul, left court without speaking to reporters."

This isn't strictly true. I heard in this video posted here earlier Paul saying to a journo "I'm Paul, you idiot", as he left.
It is at about the 10sec mark in the video.
Paul (or possibly his other brother) could be heard saying "Jesus Christ" at the end of the video in this tweet as they were leaving the Supreme Court area today and appeared to be answering a reporter question of "are you going to help them find the body" and "have you any idea where Lynette may be?".Or he was just frustrated at all the cameras, journos and media questions in general.

"Dawson’s twin brother, Paul, left court without speaking to reporters."
The Australian newspaper (paywalled) has a video of a couple of scuffles with the media as Paul Dawson, his wife and solicitor brother were walking through the garden area near to the Supreme Court this afternoon.

Sky News also has a youtube today of one of the scuffles titled

This is the non-Apple version. For people who are not using an Apple device.

Gary Jubelin answers two questions from about the 1:35 mark.

He essentially says that, in his experience, he thinks Dawson will remain in jail (no bail) and will likely file an appeal (if Dawson's lawyers find a reason for appeal).

Well, what a day! I wonder whether CD remembers calling himself God? It appears he was definitely wrong with that! Brilliant outcome. Well done Judge Harrison.

I think it might be behind a paywall, but there's a photo of Lyn's grandaughter Kiahla with Greg Simms in 2018.
Kiahla is placing flowers in a bush area, with a group of people in the background.
The article is from today, August 30, 2022

There were gasps in the courtroom the moment Dawson was found guilty - following some 4.5 hours of the judge reading out his reasons - with Dawson shaking his head very slightly and his twin brother Paul muttering 'bulls***'.

Two prison officers entered the room and handcuffed him. Dawson appeared to limp as he was led away to be taken into custody. He will be locked up at Silverwater Correctional Centre as he awaits sentencing.

Paul Dawson could be heard talking about a woman - saying 'I told her' - and complained about never having been called as a witness.

There is also a video interview in the same article…. Did the Dawson’s really only appoint new legal representation last night????for the verdict??? And do you know his name ???
Edit to add Greg Walsh … is his name …

I wonder what evidence Paul Dawson hoped to tell the court. Would he have wanted to say that CD was with him the night of the murder, perhaps that they were together, thus creating an alibi for CD?

Perhaps not. Rather than creating an alibi, it might suggest team work into the disappearance of Lyn's body. But, short of a retrial, we may never know.

The judge has just told us the Dawson is a child molester. .. In the judges own words, he is satisfied the sexual relationship began when Joanne was 15
Just one comment Joanne was 16 in late 1980 not 15. The charge relates to JC being under 17 and Chris in a teaching role which would have needed to occur while he was her teacher. I think this would have needed to have occurred before the end of school. It doesn't make it any better just a different charge as it applied in 1980.

Well what a fantastic and thorough job the judge had done in delivering his verdict. Some justice for Lyn and her family. It shows what type of family that they are that a retired Police Officer joins them for the verdict.
Despite the defence trying to undermine Damien Loone he stood there behind the family as a retired Detective for the full day. It was good to see him there after all the unwarranted abuse from the convicted Murderer Chris Dawson and his family.

GUILTY at long last.

GUILTY at long last.

Considering the case was based on “wholly circumstantial evidence” it was an amazing outcome.

Well, if CD can locate Lyn alive now, he is certainly welcome to appeal.

What a great day.
