Would the search continue after dark. I imagine they would have all sorts of lights so they could search at night.
Just wondering. And I presume the area would be under surveillance while the dig is on.

Maybe Lyn is not there, where they're searching but just beyond in the bush. Lots of hiding places.

I would be surprised if they continue into the night. Without time pressure it wouldn't make a lot of sense.

Yep, and when they found the cardigan they(police) ran out of money to keep digging

Paul and Chris must have done a lousy job of paving it in 1975 if it needed re-doing in 1982. Just saying.

I don't thinkthe pool had been there that long drt?
im not sure on specifics but I figured the paving hadn't been done around the pool at all .....yet? and he suddenly got the itch to scratch to do it.
but I am joining some of my own dots together.
im curious now...willdosome research later when I have a sec.

Interesting that it is now, unequivocally and categorically, claimed to be a murder, by the NSW police... now.. the murder of Lynette Dawson, and not the disappearance of...

I was happy to see the Crimestoppers call to action at the bottom of the DM article.

Forensic police to tear apart family home in search for missing mother Lynette Dawson's remains | Daily Mail Online
There is a $200,000 reward for anyone who has information which leads to the arrest and conviction of Lyn Dawson's killer. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

mr cimino the concreters interview with Hedley is in the attached link.
interesting points now we are doing a dig.
yes the pool went in 1980. so at best the paving was done then.....all the more reason it strange 2 years later needing to redo it?????????????
but I am not certain it was done then either.

In the chequerboard episode that the bricks around the pool were Chris and Paul doing it. Convenient if you want to bury something (or someone) there. About the 6.30 min mark.

I thought Pat or Greg might have said something about it being done shortly after Lyn "left".

I loved the fact that both Marilyn and Paul were wearing matching orange tops.

The Teacher's Wife

I thought this was from the chequerboard episode @k-mac. Now I am thinking I was wrong because I am guessing that is Shanelle he is holding just after the footage I have shown.

including The Australian understands police did not continue beyond a small area because they discovered underground pipes that they believed explained the disturbed earth.
haven't heard this before. we are always fed the money ran out spool??

I was looking at the Australian Story episode and Paul says to Chris Happy Birthday how does it feel to be a quarter of a century which would make it 26 July 1973? The child in the shot is Paul and Marilyn's daughter not Shanelle. It is probably irrelevant. I am basing this continuity on the same horrible (JMO) orange top that Paul is wearing at the 1 minute mark just after the intro is done.

If this was July 1973, this may have been their previous house in Cromer. It doesn't look like it is a big block because the pool would be near the boundary line.

AFTER AUCTION PURCHASES - Government Gazette of the State of New South Wales (Sydney, NSW : 1901 - 2001) - 30 May 1969

I don't think it's Paul and Marilyn's house because they arrive in the car but maybe the footage was taken later.

Don't stay up all night like that time you waited all night for the 6am podcast when it was late. I think it might be Chris and Lyn's previous house in Cromer. Just updated the post above. They bought it in 1969 and would make sense they had it still in 1973.

A quick job isn't always a good job, and perhaps it was a quick job by necessity.

Wow ... what a case this is! I wasn't aware of it until this round of searches for Lyn. Now that I am reading about it, I just can't understand why this man - Chris Dawson - has gone 30+ years without an intensive investigation.

The only reasons that I have seen stated anywhere by the police (at the time) was that they didn't have any proof that Lyn went anywhere other than she just left.
What a different philosophy we work with these days. If there is no proof that a missing person has gone anywhere else, we look for proof of life.

19 years ago they found a pink cardigan of Lyn's in a dig, but then could not afford to dig any further. Let's hope for all involved that they find Lyn now, and get this alleged murder solved once and for all.

Here is the short trailer for the podcast "The Teacher's Pet" that Hedley Thomas (senior journo for The Australian) created to put the focus on Lyn.
Thanks to Hedley and his efforts this thing has blown wide open and has the public attention that it requires.

Chris didn’t report his wife as missing until six weeks later, and told everyone she had run off to join a religious cult.

so why did chris report her missing at all if she had left by her own choosing and was enjoying her freedom in the religious cult???
you know the one up the central coast…...or wait no..thats right the blue mountains??

a large contradicting conundrum o_O
if you don't believe someone is missing why report that they are???
he has NEVER contemplated that something terrible likely happened to lyn. how would he know if he hadn't had anything to do with her for the last 30 years?
people die all the time...usually naturally but he insists that lyn is alive .

his comprehension and IQ issues will be his undoing :cool::cool:
