I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a lot that the wife doesn’t “know” about. Maybe an apartment or another house, and definitely a nice car somewhere. Maybe even something she’ll swear she was told was owned by one of his friends where they vacation… Sorry, I’m having trouble believing anything she says.
She reminds me of kids at school when they are questioned about something they have obviously done but deny doing.

I literally just texted a friend (who couldn’t care less) that she reminds of a three year old lying about eating a cookie when they have chocolate all over their face.

She says she met him on ship Jan 1970 and he was in AU for about 3 months, yet we know he & IK left AU together on Feb 15 1970. Something doesn’t add up.

Yes I think it would have to be after Feb 1970 on his way back to Aust that they met. Because he then goes to Prison from 71 to 74 in France.
I think she just gets confused with the months and years because she is not the sharpest

Could someone please explain to my pea-brain why the furniture store keeps coming up? Was this part of his cons?
I think it’s a story he gave his wife about are he went everyday

just asking since I'm not watching-- does she really seem like she's lying? Or could it be beginning dementia? Or if she's near my age (70) the 1990's might as well be a thousand years ago. However, I've never forgotten where I lived. Not defending the lady. I'm sure there are tons and tons of secrets in her life.

IMO she comes across as evasive at best and in general a very poor liar. (Someone earlier posted some of her various miscues) The prosecutor guy is doing a very good job of helping her with fixing the time frames (so he’ll say your daughter was in year 10 and your son in year 12). But she just doesn’t recall or remember anything. She also claims that they never discussed why he changed his name so often, or which names she recalls and which she does not. Or anything about Marion. Or the inquest. Or why the moved.

I understand it’s hard to remember back to the 70’s, 80’s, 90, etc I mean sometimes I can’t remember last week.. but I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say I don’t remember this often.. maybe a politician lol
There’s so much of her life she doesnt remember at least that’s what it’s sounding like. To me it’s also evident she has had no say in how they live their lives..and has gone along with ‘whatever’. Many people are like this.

what I’m struggling with right now is the ability to be able to ignore the news she has just heard this morning
3 marriages not 1 that she thought
30 different aliases
10 different passports my god my memory would come back if I’d found this out about the Man was married to.

Who has kids and travels OS without providing a contact number for an emergency?
Who doesn’t remember what they would do if there’s an emergency.
I think she’s just shut up her entire life with him and it is now normal and she no longer has her own thoughts or voice I don’t mean to sound harsh..

but far out it just smells of bs because unless she is medicated for nerves right now or perhaps has a memory condition surely it’s impossible not to recall the past 50 years of your life.

ahh ok I’ll calm down everyone

Or even another 'wife' she doesn't know about. Or kids to support? Did anyone else wonder about the line of questioning right at the beginning about his other 3 wives and then asking Diane if she knew of other children.... hmm

late to the party and a bit behind but ...

where is the money ???? - they don't seem to live the high life - 1 car and a house purchased with her inheritance ( although she just had to get that in there didn't she, obviously worried about having the house removed from her, not that stupid)

This makes me so sick he ruined women's lives for what ??

I reckon it might be (or have been) in accounts in Luxembourg, France and Belgium. Hence the questioning about whether DdH knew about accounts in these places.

I think some of that was meant to rattle her. But she remains (oddly) detached to all of these revelations, almost like she’s heard them before…

Agree, and they are important events she conveniently forgets or has no explanation for. ie uprooting your family and moving away to a new home which had consequences on their family such as her having to drive a much further distance daily to the children’s school. There would be a significant reason but she’s conveniently forgotten why they moved house at that time. I’ve moved a lot and can state exactly why I have moved, when and all the context around it.

Yes I noted yesterday that her meeting him on a ship in 1970 does not add up to what we know. That is an obvious lie she's been told to tell! Did you notice that Casselden asked her again about whether it was 1970 or not? IMO he probably met Diane on a ship in 1974/5 as Australia does not know how he returned here on the NAA records (but they must know now).

My gut feeling is also that they could have found a record of her going overseas in 1997 hence the questions about the children and schooling. Maybe the children stayed with someone in Ballina for the five weeks they were away. If they have interviewed their children, maybe they said something.

Also Casselden asked about the year of 1996. What happened then? Why did they move to Wollongbar?

There’s definite confusion which may suggestion memory problems or dementia but surely if she did have dementia that would have been addressed by their lawyer

I totally had his 2 marriages prior to Ilona wrong that is for sure!

Janine Leroy? sp*
nicole renue? sp*

And the part about how her daughter told her about him being married 3 times from the news ( NOPE) , podcast (YEP) and trying not to implicate the daughter.

The more I hear from her the more convinced I am that she did have some knowledge of Marion :(
