Maybe interesting/important to know: in Belgium most people are baptised but it’s more of a traditional thing (and every year less popular), but no church on sundays, except for the few real christians.
I read this comment on the MPMB page as they are looking at all these different countries as opposed to, they have found victims. Although I do hope more people are coming forward.
This is a bit off topic, but I’d like to go back to the inquest where JH, a former manager of the Colonial State Bank in Byron Bay, gave evidence. JH was prompted to contact Crime Stoppers after she saw a large billboard photograph of missing person MB, which reminded her of a woman who had withdrawn a large amount of money from the bank.
The first time I watched this part of the inquest I was not overly impressed with her evidence. However the 2nd time I started to think that she was genuine in her belief that she had dealt with MB – again I have to think what a shame that this wasn’t followed up at the time and not 25 years later when memories have faded & old records have been destroyed.
What struck me about JH is that she talked of MB withdrawing her money as she was planning to ‘find herself’ in Bali. At the time this seemed incongruous as the available information led us to believe MB was planning a new life in Luxembourg. We knew that JO had traveled to Europe via Bali, but there didn’t seem to be any other link.
Since then we have found out about GD, who in 2006 was about to be whisked away for a secret marriage in Bali and a new life in Australia. And GD has also told us about another woman who was reportedly abandoned in Bali, possibly around 2012.
We also have RB entering Australia via Perth (geographically very close to Bali) around 2012 & declaring a large sum of euros, which he later reported stolen from him at Pacific Fair.
I don’t know if this helps, but I think it is worth noting that now there is a stronger link to Bali than originally appeared at the time JH was giving evidence. MOO

Sorry everyone! I was quoting from this post (#282, Friday 18th) as I couldn't find this info in my notes. But the same information could apply to the lady who was left abandoned in Bali in 2012! I will be very interested in all the circumstances surrounding her dealings with our POI.

I thought it was 2013 (according to the Luxembourg article) that GD was contacted by the Tornai police about the lady left stranded in Bali. Although it might have actually happened in 2012, the woman might have needed time to find the courage to go to the police Comment une retraitée belge a tout perdu au profit d'un escroc

Also, Ghislaine Danlois stated, “He wanted to marry me in Bali and from there emigrate to Australia." The Bali connection comes up enough to warrant suspicion and everything else that might be implied.
I think it may be worth everyone messaging any youtubers in those countries to cover the story and hopefully more people come out of the woodwork with any information. It's a long shot, but younger people might recall any family missing in similar circumstances or being scammed by a "secret bf"

Is it possible he wanted to marry women in Bali as the marriage ceremony would not be considered lawful and legally binding? At the same time it seems like a romantic destination.
I seem to recall that this caused a problem for Jerry Hall when she wanted to divorce Mick Jagger and it transpired their marriage was never valid in the first place.
I've gone way back to 1970 with the passenger card of WW leaving Aust and the hand writing with the circles over the letter I's and the swirls in the letter B's - VERY similar hand to the Departure passenger card of Fredi David in 1971.

59 Whale Beach - the address he gives for his 3 month stay is an address that belongs to the Penney Family - a long line of Anabaptists.
James Penney married Edna Poole in NSW. She was a teacher as was one of her sons .
One of their sons J.( a clerk) and his wife are living at this address also when FD arrives.
3 years earlier in May 1968, a year before WW arrives in Aust there is a job advertisment placed using the same address .
In 1970 another son M. ( born 1936) resigns from teaching.
In February 1997 Edna Penney - retired school teacher - dies and is buried in Leura, Blue Mountains -
was she also teaching in the blue mountains at one time?

Could it be Marion and Edna crossed paths during their teaching career in the Blue Mountains and a connection to RB as he is known today, was made through the funeral of Edna Penney?
