One of the seven men from Victoria arrested on Thursday has told reporters he was in Sydney on holidays and it was all a "misunderstanding".
NSW Police said the arrest came after reports a "violent act was possibly being planned".
Speaking after his release from Liverpool Police Station today, the man said the group had been en route to Manly for a swim when the incident happened.
He said he was "confused" about why they were on police's radar, and was not angry with officers.
"No, no, no, they have their job to do, I don't blame them for nothing, it was a misunderstanding."
He said he didn't know when they would be returning to Melbourne.
