Even more laughable when it's women dying. ... knock a man off his bicycle, and it's 20 years , though...I doubt he’ll receive a custodial sentence at this point. The Australian legal system is laughable when it comes to traffic offences.

And why would she do that?“Police allege Dennis was behind the wheel of a dark grey Volkswagen Amarok when Ms Hoskins was struck on December 30, 2023 about 8pm outside their leafy home in Adelaide’s inner north.
It has now come to light that Ms Hoskins was chasing Dennis’ ute before the tragedy unfolded, The Australian reports.
According to the bombshell report, Ms Hoskins jumped on the bonnet of the car as Dennis departed the family home in Medindie.
It has been alleged CCTV footage then showed Ms Hoskins running beside the vehicle before she was struck and injured after reaching for a door handle.
The 32-year-old suffered serious injuries in the incident and paramedics took her to Royal Adelaide Hospital for further treatment. She died at the hospital.“

I know running alongside a vehicle when I'm angry and confrontational is entirely something I did as a younger and more volatile person. There wouldn't necessarily need to be kids involved. But I guess we'll never know. And why would she do that?
We will never know but I suspect he was trying to drive away with her children in the car.

Those cases were premeditated murder - very different. There's no allegations in this case that there is any forethought to this senseless and stupid act.Things don't go well usually with kids bought up by the very man who's responsible for killing their mum.. look at Dawson's girls, and that family, who's dad buried mum in a barrel in the garage, told the kids she'd run off with a truck driver.. things go badly, usually.
On the contrary, Mr Dennis has admitted to reckless driving, the definition of such is, Dennis admitted to driving a motor vehicle without lawful excuse when Ms Hoskins was on or in proximity to the vehicle, knowing that act was likely to cause harm to another and being recklessly indifferent to whether such harm was caused. Those cases were premeditated murder - very different. I still can’t understand how the poor woman could have swung up on to the hood under her own steam, the car wasn’t stopped, no assistance given…the Spanish incident…appalling behaviour.
Alright I apologise for lack of reading comprehension.
It seems like the culture of the Sport is not healthy for relationships and that needs to be addressed, rather than protecting and covering up bad behaviour after the fact.
Coincidentally I have just been reading that Oscar Pistorious has a new beau now he is released from prison. Sorry I don’t know how to add a linkAlright I apologise for lack of reading comprehension.

This illustrates so much about the situation - if it was an "accident" you would definitely stop to give aid. She was not able to tell her story and we can only hear his - but this fact calls out so loudly his attitude towards her. He ran over his wife and did not help. IMOHe didn't even stop to render aid. He drove away after she fell. If he was getting a negotiated plea, the prosecution should have insisted that failure to aid be a part of the charges. I am not Australian but this feels like a miscarriage of justice for Melissa. Imo.
Yep! You got me on that oneOn the contrary, Mr Dennis has admitted to reckless driving, the definition of such is, Dennis admitted to driving a motor vehicle without lawful excuse when Ms Hoskins was on or in proximity to the vehicle, knowing that act was likely to cause harm to another and being recklessly indifferent to whether such harm was caused.
Recklessly indifferent . Required premeditation. Choice. Decision. Stupid, yes, senseless, no. There was a decision making process involved. Which is why , obviously, he has pled guilty, since the Accident Reconstruction must have shown this element of reckless indifference.
