I think 7 News is saying Wood appeared via his lawyer whilst he was in custody.

Maybe.

IMO

Is this their arraignment hearings?

Is this their arraignment hearings?
If I recall correctly, last week they adjourned the matter until today because police needed more time to prepare the brief of evidence. Apparently they will supply a partial brief of evidence today.

"The court heard the brief of evidence was not yet finalised due to "complicating factors", and the officer compiling the brief would be on leave from the end of the month."

Oh yes, hopefully not another delay.

Police compiling hundreds of documents in case against Pheobe Bishop's accused murderers

The police brief of evidence for the case against the alleged murderers of 17-year-old Pheobe Bishop will include 155 exhibits, a court has been told.

The brief will also include CCTV footage, telephone and message data, photographs and post-mortem documents.

Sergeant Kennedy-Grills said there were delays preparing the brief as officers waited for DNA testing and a ballistics report and worked through the "sheer volume" of material and "multiple crime scenes".

Pheobe's family was in court and protested when Ms Bromley's defence lawyer Nick Larter proposed adjourning the matters to October 27.

That is the date of Pheobe's 18th birthday. The court heard her family would be unavailable on the day.

The two cases have been adjourned until November 3.

Ms Bromley and Mr Wood remain in custody.”

Ballistics report? Well, can't say I'm surprised.

Actually I am surprised now that I think about it. They said she was alive on the way to the airport in the Hyundai. So, where would that have happened? We've seen the car with no bullet holes in it.

Hmm, I don't know, I guess it could mean a lot of different things

Is the brief of evidence made public in court when it is ready?

Maybe after an incident in the car, they pulled the car over, marched her out and executed her, later moving her body in the hold-all. Sorry for being gruesome.

It’s clear now with the ballistics report she was potentially shot. Also pretty sad that this keeps getting dragged out

No mention of ballistics report in this media report….
But an amazing number of statements is mentioned - 135 of them!

This article states that Mittelheuser is charged with
2 counts of interfering with a corpse. I’ve not heard this before. I believe he was charged with being an accessory after the fact of murder.

Murder charges against Pheobe Bishop’s alleged killers back in court

The court was also given insight into the staggering amount of information being compiled for the police brief of evidence – more than 155 exhibits and 135 statements.

Police prosecutor Vicki Kennedy-Grills said a partial brief would be available for the defence to collect on Tuesday afternoon but the “sheer volume of statements that have been obtained and are yet to be obtained” accounted for the delay.

Evidence, Ms Kennedy-Grills said, included texts from Pheobe’s phone, scenes of crime photos, CCTV and telecommunications data.

Magistrate Nigel Rees asked whether DNA samples had been sent away to which the prosecutor replied “quite a number” had.

A brief was also being complied for the third co-accused (Kieren Daniel Mittelheuser is charged with two counts of interfering with a corpse), Ms Kennedy-Grills said.”

Sky News article from July 4….

Detectives arrested Mittelheuser, 30, on Tuesday evening outside a local fast food outlet in Bundaberg west, just a day after Pheobe was put to rest by her family during a private funeral.

He is facing two counts of accessory after the fact to murder, one count of failure to appear in accordance with undertaking and one breach of bail condition

The whole thing is absolutely heartbreaking and I hope just one person - maybe TB - can tell everything and let the family have justice and what little peace of mind can be reclaimed from this horror.
