Tyagarah (Belongil?) beach is clothing optional too. Discovered that one by accident when simply heading for a dip during the blues festival.
Yes. A walk up north from Belongil Creek with main access via Grays Lane at Tyagarah. It's a National Park. There's been some disturbing behaviour there but it seems better controlled now.
That's a long way off and nowhere Theo is known to have gone near.

Adding that Tyagarah is official while Kings Beach isn't. Kings Beach catches a few people out if you don't know. It did with me and an ex. It's a top walk down through littoral rainforest.

Yes, the podcast said they were quite water damaged (though the link I provided earlier did not include that detail).

Very possibly washed up - or found washed up and tossed onto the leaf debris by someone who left it there for the owner to find, if they came looking for their lost items.

Homeless surfer boy may have accidentally left the wallet in his pocket when he went surfing.
Seems more likely lost somewhere near that spot. Water damage as there was a lot of rain around back then. Too far inland to be washed up. Probably dropped or fell out of clothes and couldn't find it?

Discarded? Dismiss society and have no transport and you might discard them.

They’re appreciated and recognised beyond words. Let’s not continue with this topic as it (if I recall correctly) caused this thread to be shut down for quite some time (as in weeks) earlier on.
I don’t know if it’d be different now that the person you refer to is a part of the podcast? Anyway just a friendly suggestion to be cautious.

As George was in the podcast we are able to discuss his comments and those discussions on the podcast with him however we cannot discuss or sleuth him as a suspect POI or anything else that was not raised and discussed in podcast with George.

I actually found the podcast information interesting that he had set up Theo's profile on Grinder.
Thought that maybe he could get a bite on Theo's whereabouts and/or demise from there.

I guess that follows from the area being known to be a 'beat' place. And it is a concern that something nefarious could have happened to Theo along those lines.

I do hope that Theo's family were consulted before that profile was set up (and apparently now removed).

Yes I would hope the family were consulted to on this, I find the idea quite unnerving to be honest

8:50 mark on Pod 5 says 20 volunteers did a sweep from the dunes to CC. Unsure if that’s along the sand or through the bush. If sand, could’ve washed up.

Poor Connor Meldrum! Did you hear how they said that an hour earlier or later and he would’ve washed out to sea?

Yeah. I followed that. His mother was so courageous doing what she could to try and prevent similar from happening while he was still critical in hospital.

Notice how she said Connor was a sensible kid too?

Don’t think the family was consulted about it if I am remembering right.

I don't understand after the black shoes found on M1 highway were taken to police and the lady tried to follow up on these shoes why the police officer said that all clothes are accounted for, don't bring any more shoes in and what he had on , all of that would be together? How would he know all of that would be together? Weird.

IMO, I think this campsite guy is a real POI, and agree with the PI. IMO Theo met him at Tennyson and followed him past his own camp to CC. Let’s not forget that the path directly to his campsite must have been forged by this person – it is not even a track that is locally known as a track, so a personal one.

Re George Maloukis part of this Episode. I know him personally for a long time, professionally and as a friend (friend only, I am not gay). We have talked about the Theo case from before he went to Byron to offer his assistance (for free). David Murray contacted George a few days ago to ask for a photo of him with his dog. George said no, making it clear he did not want to be part of the podcast unless the family wanted him to and thought it might assist. This release of a recording made some 2 + months ago was made without George’s knowledge or permission (he was just talking to media no idea it was recorded). When George first arrived Christos told him that the family wanted as much publicity as possible around the case (very understandable). It’s the reason he agreed to speak to media at all. He did not know when he spoke with David Murray back then, that he was being recorded. What GM posted on the Grindr website was only Theo’s first name and no pic. He was hearing rumours about Theo from all over the place, so put it out there as a “long shot”.

George did have a falling out with the group, as have many others with levels of professional experience. Lack of information, lack of experience by the locals but with good intentions all took their toll. David never contacted George to ask if it was Ok to go with a 2 + month old talk they had, nor was he aware that he was in Episode 5 until he was informed today. GM was accused by people in the LFTH group of just wanting media attention, and it is one of the reasons he left the group. It was Christos who told him to talk to media in the first place and he was reluctant to do it until he was told that the family wanted as much publicity as possible. All available evidence to George at the time, indicated that Theo might possibly have run off with a girl.

With now more recent evidence, the outcome? Theo is very likely still at CC. Others on websleuths have mentioned this as well, and it is looking likely IMO.

I actually am curious if the family even knew that this old conversation with GM was being included in this podcast? One of the key volunteers informed Murray that GM was a suspect in Theo’s disappearance. I am glad that Murray recognised this and has seen through the false accusation. Several persons with experience have fallen foul of the key group, which is a pity when the aim was simply to help find Theo Hayez. Admin can contact GM direct to confirm my comments here. He’s in the media, I am direct to him not third party, so thought this was within the rules. Hope so.

Remember you only have George's side of the story. What he told you may not be accurate. I'm interested to know George's experience with missing persons cases, given that he says in the podcast he has knowledge and experience.

We don’t know much at all. We do know the phone followed a path. I turned on my google maps tracking option this week and checked it last night. Yesterday it mapped me driving around but there were a few obvious inaccuracies where it had either cut my journey short or cut corners. It didn’t follow my route precisely or completely. In the image below is an example where it recorded me as the blue path (driving) yet I actually went to where I’ve marked the red dot. I also returned on the same road but it has marked it to appear like a different returning route in the form of the blue /\ shape.

There are a few different types of data. You can get your less accurate path directly from google maps. But you can also get your raw data from google takeout, which is much more precise and also gives you an accuracy (in metres) of all of your data points.

Feralflower, are you referring to Theo's clothes? All of "his clothes" = Theo's clothes are accounted for?
(I haven't had time to listen to pod5 yet)

Anyone read the news reports today about the homeless man arrested for two murders in tweed and Sunshine Coast?! According to police Kevin James Pettiget tried to evade detection and discarded clothing after both murders. He also shaved his beard. Could it be?

What his the meaning of your last phrase : " Could it be ? "
Is there a word missing ?

  • #1,196
Yes please do that. Is it permitted to post a pic of the post this guy did on the LFTH page

It took me hours to read through the LFTH FB pages you mentionned and I could not reach the bottom of the tread : that little "lift" on the right always jumps up to 10 days ahead (see what I mean ?) It always happens to me when threads are very long.

On top of that looking at other FB threads re Théo they give you new adresses to continue the reading elsewhere.

So may I suggest, @certus1 , that you contact the writer of the post as you remember his name . And come back here with the answers. Thanks.

Apparently he had a car according to his family in the podcast. The police would be able to check his bank accounts and possibly from that determine if he was in Byron at the time Theo disappeared.

Ok I will contact him. Can I place a pic of his post here?

No.

The analogy that the moderators have given us is 'how would you like it if your - or a family member's - social media post, pic or name was posted on an international public forum?'

It is against the rules. Hopefully everyone here has read them.
