Wtfh, I *hate* how this headline makes HIM sound like the victim!!!

The only person who 'fell' was Warriena. The only person caught ina 'fatal' anything was -- Warriena.

I think Gable Tostee has less 'fallen' than lived a long, slow decline from the innocence of his first year alive until he hit the region of 'total ' at the age of 28. Whoever wrote that headline needs a good kick in the pants. IMO.

Yes. Yes they can. Gee wizz I do hope it's not used as a line of defence in this case though. One step forward, ten steps backwards for those who otherwise devote themselves to generating much needed public awareness & support for people living with an autism spectrum disorder. Negative publicity connecting crime with it has a way of sticking in some people's minds and generating unjust generalized stereotyping and false information.

I'll use an example: "My son has Aspergers". Response: "Is that the same thing that Port Arthur Bryant guy had?". Yes. Somebody opened their mouth and actually said that to me. Sadly, there will always be people who automatically link Aspergers to the likes of Martin Bryant (as opposed to the many brilliant minds who keep humanity moving forward!).

If GT does in fact have an ASD, please media.... don't stuff this up and take us back decades. Focus on the individual. One in every hundred or so people don't deserve to be tarred with same brush.

There was another photo, closer up, with two detectives on the balcony. One was leaning back and looking up to the floor above and one was leaning out looking over the balcony. It showed the stain/mark you're talking about. It definitely caught my eye, like is that blood? Or like you say, maybe a water stain? It was a much closer up pic than than the one you posted, but I cannot find it, sorry.

Well I learned very little from that latest courier mail article. All they have done basically is put up some of his online quotes.
i.m way more interested in his background, what he is OCD over and why he is considered an autistic savant, and exactly what he has been doing over the last 10 years. Why can't they talk to people who actually knew him?
Your average WS poster could have written a more interesting factual article than that.

I don't think that police believe this was some kind of horsing around or sex act gone wrong. It is a murder charge.

There was loud arguing before the three screams .. the second scream was described as filled with fear.

It's weird because up to yesterday I probably would have thought that the most likely scenario was where he somehow put her on the edge of the balcony, either through anger or some other act of stupidity, and Warriena fell. But this morning I was reflecting on what we have seen of him through his online presence, and it kind of hit me that he could well have thrown her over the balcony deliberately. Maybe in a fit of anger at rejection. I thought there's nothing to say he actually threw her over, but there's nothing to say he didn't either. From what I gather, he had issues with rejection and he was a loose cannon prone to alcoholic blow outs and black outs. I think it's entirely possible that he threw her over the balcony in a fit of rage. There's just nothing to say that didn't happen. I hope that the QPS have found enough evidence to back up the murder charge. I do wonder if they go for murder, with the possibility it might be downgraded to manslaughter at trial. But it does seem they have found some critical piece of evidence to warrant the murder charge.

Nope, you're right. It's weird. It might be understood if you have precious art or something worth protecting like that, but it is not normal to have cameras in your house. It's creepy.

Detective Superintendent David Hutchinson of the Gold Coast CIB told APNZ screams were heard at the unit "shortly before the fall" at 2.30am on Friday. "There was a disturbance in the unit, there were raised voices."

Police had obtained statements from nearby residents who witnessed and heard "certain things". Mr Hutchinson would not go into further detail.

Camp Chair, I do have a daughter.. and I have done everything in my power to instil a sense of self-respect in her (eta: and so has she! to give her some credit, lol) It's not easy, I feel young women are even more objectified now than they were in my youth.

I think it must be hard to raise boys too.

Speaking of parents -- you know what effing burns me up as well? NOT ONE word from Mr & Mrs Tostee about Warriena's death. No "we feel for her family', nothing.

That Courier Mail article is disappointing writing in terms of being a news story. A compilation of forum posts isn't news imo, and there aren't too many 'facts' in there. Where does the info about him being an autistic savant come from? Surely not just GT's own bragging posts on a forum? Don't even get me started on how the article ends - unless there is more following in the subscriber or print versions?
Sorry it just irked me reading that as it just came across as sensationalist and without much substance. I think I've woken up grumpy! :gaah:

Here's a thought (one my husband just put to me) --- is it possible that GT could have attacked her, panicked at what he'd done, and then threw her over the balcony in an attempt to destroy evidence that he directly caused her death?? (some more parallels with GBC come to mind here too)

Wow! this is a VERY interesting theory...

and... Possibly why GT hasn't been proclaiming that Warriena jumped, fell, etc.... Or hasn't given ANY type of defense...there just may be way too many incriminating pieces of evidence that LE can potentially discover... That he hopes will not be uncovered...and by speaking... He might just lead LE to the real cause of death...

LE has retrieved recording which details the interactions between GG and WW around the time of her death.

This is pretty big news... And could be "the smoking gun"...

and... I wonder why GT didn't rid his apartment of all recordings after the death of WW...

but... From posting on SM that he keeps these types of recordings he could have just taken a big ole billboard out and advertised," Hey, LE! Look on my apartment cams... You will find what you need there!"
