This is just unbelievable !

He's out just in time for schoolies.

His father assisted him to leave the scene of the crime and they've made a bail condition that involves him.

Today I feel sorry for the police who have worked so hard on this case. What a slap in the face to them. It's just disgusting !

Something needs to be done about our pathetic court system. If this had of happened in the USA I'm sure the trial would have occurred by now.

I just can't believe he got bail :tantrum: I hope he breaks a bail condition in the first 24 hours and is locked back up quicker than he can say 'Tinder'. :jail:

These are not strict!
Are these Bail Conditions, or Parenting Rules for bad teens?

Good question, Figgy.

What a pity Mullins' "concern" about Tostee's psychopathic lack of remorse, and "self-interest" does not extend to the welfare of the women he will undoubtedly pursue while out on bail.

Or to the issues of his bolting from cops? The reports of rapey behaviour? The way his dad *assisted* evasion of police?

Just does my head in. I need to go look at some puppies and kitties doing cute things.

Tostee is running parallel with Gittany, both had a woman 'fall' from their balcony.
Violence toward police prior, they both recorded their violent behaviour.
Both given bail.....now hoping Tostee will be placed in custody then given life.
We need a witness like Josh Rathmell to come forward.
:please::please:

JUST KEEP RACHEL LOUISE AWAY....PLEASE!

He's an alcoholic who doesn't think he has done anything wrong. What would Bill say?

Even though the bail conditions do not sound onerous, GT will struggle to comply. And so will his parents for that matter.
Police will be watching him like a hawk.
He is temporarily out of jail. I just hope no one else suffers at his hands.

Good thinking Ooohm I'm sure the cops will keep an eye on him. Let Fluffy off the chain. Go get him boys.

Gable Tostee Charged with Murder site on FB is reporting that he has been assaulted by inmates again.

  • #807
Wow. Released into the care of someone who has previously helped him evade Police. I didn't realise just how ridiculous it sounded until I relayed it out loud to someone.

Regarding the 'random alcohol testing, but only on a Sunday' - was that the judge just relaying Tostee's preference or actually agreeing to it? Surely not??!!

So what will happen now that Tostee settles in for the night & starts catching up on what is being said about him online. I'm picturing a Tassie Devil style implosion. He'll feel like a drink.

ACCUSED Gold Coast playboy balcony killer Gable Tostee walked out of jail this evening after being freed on bail.

Wearing black shorts, a white T-shirt and thongs, a clean-cut Tostee hugged his mother Helene as he walked out of Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre about 5.45pm carrying a carton of belongings

He was whisked away in a silver Volvo driven by his father Gray.

Handing down her decision, Judge Mullins expressed concern that Tostee appeared to be ‘so focused on himself’ rather than the victim, but said that could change as the trial loomed closer and he gained a ‘greater insight’.

She also repeated that it was ‘not a straightforward case of murder’ and that the murder charge ranged from ‘weak’ to ‘unsustainable as a matter of law’.

His trial is not expected to be held until next year or 2016.

A long time until trial! In my opinion, I think he'll break bail as he won't be able to go that distance without putting himself on the wrong side of the law again. I don't think he'll be able to resist mouthing off on some area of internet, so that will be interesting.

On the other hand, it will be no surprise if ...1... the murder charge ends up being dropped....or...2...the case does make it to trial, he'll go the self-defence angle and will be found not guilty because of the judges comments today.... ‘not a straightforward case of murder’ and that the murder charge ranged from ‘weak’ to ‘unsustainable as a matter of law’.

I hope I'm wrong for Warriena and her family's sake.

With our sleuthing abilities we have to help police see where and when he posts.
Will mummy and daddy mind him bringing his 'known' ladies back home. After this gaol stint he'll have a lot of lovin' to give. Enabling and turning their heads. He has no licence by memory, will he be cocky enough to start driving again? He'll slip up.
Yes on all counts.

Totally agree Marly.

Don't forget - he assaulted an officer after his spectacular car chase...

I hope they fill the time b/w murder trial now with a nice prison sentence for that. But I'm starting to wonder if he'll get a walk for that, as well. What a blessed life he's led, thus far... I know people who've gone away for MUCH less.

The prosecution is pursuing a case for murder, although the lesser charge of manslaughter may be applied if murder cannot be proven.

Bail conditions ‘potential waste of police resources’

GABLE Tostee’s bail conditions restricting social media use are difficult to enforce and a potential waste of police resources, legal experts say.

Not only is he banned from his favourite pastimes - drinking alcohol and surfing Facebook, Tinder and Bodyspace looking for girls - the bailed defendant cannot drive, is banned from carousing on his favourite haunt, the Surfers Paradise nightclub strip, and is not allowed out after dark.

Until three months before Ms Wright's death, Tostee had been a regular on the party strip, visiting clubs such as Crazy Horse, Cocktails, Club Liv, Bourbon Bar, Players, Alive, Vanity and Sin City, until managers banned him from at least two of the clubs for being 'creepy with girls'.

Gable Tostee's next court outing is on January 12, when he is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on the murder charge, as well as two separate overnight drunken incidents he allegedly committed in the months before his fateful Tinder date with Ms Wright.

According to court documents presented at his first bail application, and the charges heard by Magistrate Kerry Magee in October, Tostee is alleged to have driven his car in a police chase at 3am on July 27 this year while having a blood alcohol level of .203 - five times over the limit.

He is also charged with assaulting or obstructing police in an alleged incident at around 2.35am on January 27 this year in which a 'heavily intoxicated' Tostee is alleged to have kicked out at a sergeant and told a constable to 'f*** off c***'.

From today, the bodybuilder and self-confessed womaniser is only allowed outside his parents house between 6am and 6pm.

He will have to regularly report to Broadbeach Police station, always driven the 15km there and back because Tostee's license has been suspended on a drink driving charge.

The flooring contractor's sole outings may be to work with his father, Gray Tostee, at World Carpets, where the elder Tostee acts as a sales manager, and participate in an alcohol rehab program ordered by the court.

Mr Goldsworthy, who is also a barrister, said Tostee’s persistent use of social media after his arrest in August had done him no favours and the bail condition would “probably be beneficial to him”.

He said the police may consider using counterterrorism social listening tools to track Tostee’s online activities.

Well, it's a hot day. Mummy might let him out to run under the sprinkler. I can't see him venturing too far beyond for the time being - paranoia would have to be eating him up. Lots of big strapping Kiwis on the coast who would be keen to meet him. I reckon once he gets comfortable, the beach may appeal for an easy perv within curfew over schoolies/NY. Here's hoping he leaves camera phone at home! Feel sorry for Police who will be expected to offer him protection if he gets hassled. :notgood:

GABLE Tostee’s bail conditions restricting social media use are difficult to enforce and a potential waste of police resources, legal experts say.
Tostee, who is accused of murdering Warriena Wright who fell from his balcony after they met on dating app Tinder, was granted bail in Brisbane Supreme Court yesterday with a raft of conditions, including one that prevents him from using social sites to meet new women.
Neither top police nor the state’s attorney-general were able to say how they would enforce the condition yesterday.

Made me think

In The Demise of Guys, Philip Zimbardo and Nikita Duncan note that many conditions for which boys and young men are routinely medicated - ADHD, OCD, social anxiety, performance anxiety, depression – mimic arousal addiction. If your kid's on Ritalin, check his internet habits. The brain's pleasure centre floods with dopamine. Next day it wants more, and more. Over time, three things happen. One, habituation requires ever-greater doses for the same pleasure; more, weirder, nastier. Two, the pleasure becomes strongly associated not with talk, flirtation and courtship but with solitude, gloom, voyeurism, screens and emotional disengagement. Three, the neural pathways re-shape accordingly.
