This article from last year

THE father of abducted NSW child William Tyrrell has been revealed as former prison inmate Brendan Collins who goes by the nickname “Bones”.

News.com.au can exclusively reveal Mr Collins’ family are concerned about his wellbeing following his release earlier this year from prison on drugs charges and as the third anniversary of William’s disappearance approaches.

But i don't know when he was first imprisoned until last year? Don't know if his criminal record can be accessed in Aus.?

The baby boy had been removed from his biological parents — both of whom had encountered problems with police — and placed in the care of foster parents.
His biological father was a career criminal who had spent most of William’s short life incarcerated.

So was he in prison the day William vanished or was he living with Karlie?

If I was a cynic and wanted to be unkind, I would suggest that this most recent article is an attempt by NC to mitigate any future sentence that may be imposed upon BC as a result of his current court proceedings and not ‘about William’ at all.

Just saw this in the NZ Herald. Sounds as if Natalie could have been paid to tell her tale to News Corp.
Seems as though you are pretty much right about her motivations, Bohemian. Not about William at all.

If Brendan gets into rehab, can he get out of a jail sentence? Maybe would not be presumed to be fit for trial, or could have rehab instead of jail?

She spoke with news.com.au in a bid to get her now troubled son Brendan proper drug rehabilitation and mental health counselling.

BBM, I tried to find that info. online but so far nothing. That's why i said unless we can access his criminal records i don't think the info. of whether or not he was in prison at the time WT went missing is out in the public domain?
The only thing it states in msm is he was in and out of jail for the most part through the course of his life. I would think and it is a fact that drug addiction goes hand in hand with criminal behaviour and mental illness, so BC has never managed to get himself together yet.

Lack of income, overseas holidays, people making money from interviews, quality of clothing, specified amounts spent on presents and court cases, a house sale. Has the cost of the home renovations been mentioned yet?

As soso said, sometimes I think I’m on another thread.

I also wonder whether she's being interviewed by email or similar, we know what her written expression is like, and it would be understandable if the journalist ended up confused about the time frames on what she was saying.

At 11am, the foster mother called the police. The start of many searches for little William, who would become a nationwide story, began.
At 4.30pm police knocked on Karlie and Brendan’s door.
“They arrested the pair of them. We were all suspects,” Natalie said.

so if nc is right maybe he wasnt in prison if they were both arrested on the day william went missing?

That could well be.

I haven't heard of any of them being "suspects" by LE? But there is also nothing about BC & KT being arrested that i'm aware of?
NC did have a bench warrant for her arrest for not appearing in court on another matter though. Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Isn't there a photo in the media? NC with a boarding pass ... off on a cruise maybe.
She really is obsessed with other people having money.
Makes me wonder if she once had access to some and that has dried up...jmo

Arrested for questioning maybe and let go without charge.

He also had a NSW police force civilian warrant card with another man's photo on it, the court facts said.

What is a NSW Police civilian warrant card?
I thought he may have nicked someones warrant to turn up to court. But it had a photo of another person on it.

An identity card? Yes probably someone else's?

Oh I did realise it was someone else's. I was just checking what it was.

From what I can tell, NSW Police civilian Warrant cards are issued to retired Police Officers.

Chair of NSW Police Legacy Acting Inspector Paul Bousfield said traditionally when officers left the force they were asked to return their identification (their warrant card).

"The retired police officer's identification card is a wonderful initiative because it returns the identify of a former police officer back to them," Acting Inspector Bousfield said.
