This is also interesting ....

It is understood police are hoping to confirm William's body is no longer in the bushland.
New search launched for William Tyrrell

Maybe, along with forensics and circumstantial evidence, this will lead to a court case in time.
FWIW, my reading is that "the bushland" is used loosely and includes the residential area. William (alive) was there; they seek to confirm that he/his body is no longer there or nearby. I don't take the inference that the body has been moved.

I don't think the police have any doubt that William was taken. But most of us here have moments . . . what if they missed him in the drain, what if he fell in a tank and the lid flipped back in place, what's behind that pile of earth etc. Even if we think otherwise most of the time. Police don't want to lose a case to a jury having a collective 'moment'.

Yes, a defense lawyer would have a field day with the power of suggestion, reasonable doubt, if this forensic search was not undertaken ... to exclude William being lost but not found there.

channel nine news reporter on site said they are searching just behind, north of the house, also there was that early photo of police standing in the driveway in front of the open under deck dirt area, next to a pile of raked up leaves? cant find it anywhere now? it was a good hiding spot

Looks like police are looking at formally omitting the presence of the child past the property line as part of proper process in any inquest.

This would formalise an abduction from the property.

The main thing to grab my attention is "new suspect".

Yes the new suspect is interesting.
Given police have not named a suspect at all. Actually they have refused to talk about any specific person of interest.

I was thinking when I was looking at this picture that the police looked like they were circling around the property (the house is quite far away in the background). Perhaps starting further away and moving inwards?

Looks like they are starting at the property line between #48 and the Wilson's place.

whatever happened to william could have happened at the property and if he was hidden on site then that explains no scent beyond the driveway, he could have been hidden or buried there in those hours while everyone was out looking

If this is all it is . . . a necessary but far from compelling part of a circumstantial case . . . for it to be worth the trouble of a big re-search, they must have a very good circumstantial case against somebody in place already?

Still, I hope it's more than that--I hope it's a tip--I hope they expect to find something.

As everyone knows, I think they have always likely had a good circumstantial case. There is evidence that has allowed warrants for detailed and comprehensive searches in the past, of other people's property.

There may have even been further warrants and searches since then, for different people, due to good circumstantial evidence. Seems the police have been busy, we just don't know what they have been doing.

Still not seeing any link to family. Especially after the FF statement issued this morning.

Pretty sure that there would have been police with the family at all hours, when this happened. Particularly victim support persons.

Didn't the foster mum say she went to the police van in the middle of the night, when she remembered about cars parked on the road?

Many, many of today and yesterday's articles are still reiterating that they have all been cleared. I completely expect Jubelin will reiterate that, too, in just a little while.

This would indicate authorities are laying the groundwork for an inquest to be held into the case, allowing police to take all their evidence to court and name persons of interest.

In the video
William's family and extended family are being kept up to date.
Williams birthday on the 26th June and it will be marked while police continue the month long search for clues.

SA, I'm intrigued why the riot squad is involved?

Sorry, I've just read on and found the answers. Apologies all.

The search experts are in charge this time.

It is not good news for little William, I fear. :(

The operation is being co-ordinated by search experts from the Public Order and Riot Squad.

Agree. I think they know. I suspect the reward might have finally drawn information from someone. Hope so.
