The Morcombe's always held their heads high when it came to social media, talking to press; able to amazingly keep their emotions under control. It obviously totally different for the bio GM to keep her emotions in check. Dealing with government red tape, not being able to publicly comment for a long time due to suppression orders. I'd probably fly off the handle too under those circumstances.

Personally I think it's ridiculous they're searching the bush again. The bird flew 4 years ago IMO. Unless the taskforce have been given a very good reason to do so. Perhaps down the track if this does go to a coronial inquest it might highlight how things could've been better handled, right from Day 1 for all parties (Bios, FPs, Taskforce) with a vested interest.

Do you remember Daniel O'Keeffe? He went missing in 2011. His family, the police, and many others searched everywhere for him. They looked in different Australian states even.
4½ years later, his father found him in a spot at his home that was difficult to access. They had walked past Daniel many times.

The O'Keeffe family held out hope that Daniel would turn up alive after he went missing in July 2011, with thousands of people joining the hunt to find him through a social media campaign.
Missing man Daniel O'Keeffe: death not suspicious, police say

The family had searched Australia far and wide, including in Western Australia and the Northern Territory

Article says search is of an area with 3km radius. A circle with 3km radius would of course be much more than 3km^2 . . . more like 28km^2. I'm confused.

Edit: and a few paragraphs down it reverts to "three square kilometres".

Maybe the journo isn't so good at maths? Doesn't know her radius from her square?

Xanthe Mallett, a UoN criminologist seems to be of the opinion that William’s was a planned, situational abduction, ie; the perpetrator lay in wait for an opportunity to take him when his carers’ backs were turned. Someone who went there specifically for William, who knew him from the local community or from somewhere else.

The two things this article made me think about ...

“I’m not going to say it was a particular piece of information that brought us here,” he said.
“We have received over 15,000 of pieces of information.

But Jubes doesn't exactly say that it wasn't a single piece of info that spurred the search, does he? Interesting play on words. imo

Also, I am wondering if Natalie's comments are based on the fact that she is afraid that Brendan's shovelling in the forest/DNA/perhaps leaving something behind will point - erroneously -to his involvement in this crime. So she is trying to deflect. She doesn't know what he may have done out there, and with his previous erratic behaviour, she is nervous.

Natalie Collins, William’s biological grandmother, said yesterday that the forensic search was pointless.
While police refuse to comment on the biological family’s assertions, they maintain the current search is the crucial next step.

My pleasure. If they’re not clear enough to read, let me know and I’ll retake the photos.

I saved them and opened them up in Windows photos, so I could enhance the print to make it more readable. First page came through a little blurry, second page is clear.

Thank you so much! Still reading .......

Nearly four years on, there's still no trace of missing boy William Tyrrell

Confirmation from GJ that there has been NO new tip off ....
Veteran officer Detective Chief Inspector Gary Jubelin, who is leading the investigation into William’s disappearance, told reporters that there had been no tip off, no vital new clue that had bought Strike Force Rosann back to comb a three-kilometre radius in the bush close to the home where William was last seen.

My mum has come to visit, she brought the paper with her...interesting reading the criminologists view- planned, targeted by someone who has seen him or knows of him.

Do you mean Xanthe’s? Yes. Also Dr Parmegiani’s re the pressure being exerted by DCI Jubelin’s continued statements about coming forward if they are the ‘someone who knows something’:

‘Attention like that could crush the resolve of someone holding on to critical evidence to protect themselves or a loved one.

The more a crime is publicised or the demand for that information is made, the louder the conscience becomes, to the point where it becomes difficult to live with [themselves].

There’s an internal struggle between [their] conscience and competing factors like allegiances to the perpetrator.

It’s always in [their] face, [they] can’t use denial and say ‘well someone else has to come forward, it’s not my business, it’s not my role, it’s not my job to solve this crime. It’s not my role to betray my brother, husband, father, whoever.’

[He] also believed that in the case of decent people ‘if the human face is right in front of [them], day in, day out, sooner or later [their] conscience will make [them] do the right thing.’

It is that someone’s business, it is their role, it is their job to solve this terrible crime against a defenceless little boy. To bring his loved ones peace and the ability to bring William home. To do the right thing.

.. were more relying on people who are not habitual criminals and not psychopathic killers to come forward.
However, if the person who knows the truth is a sadistic criminal, the chances of a victory of conscience is reduced.

There is an internal struggle your conscience and competing factors like allegiances to the perp.

The more a crime is publicised or the demand for that information is made , the louder the conscience becomes to the point where it just becomes difficult to live with yourself.

I guess it all comes down to conscience.
Jube's believes there are people that know .
How can you live with yourself?

I haven't seen it mentioned that Brendan was actually digging anywhere near FG's house. For all we know he could of been digging in Natalie's back yard

I'm all good, thanks Bo. I was able to enhance so I could read it. Was just thinking of others who may not have the enhance ability on their device.

I agree. He could have been digging anywhere. I was just hypothesising. Natalie may not know where he was digging.

Good to see you back, C&L. I was wondering where you were.

Or the Tele in their hot little hands :D

Much of it is nothing more than what we’ve read before but I do think Dr Parmegiani’s and Xanthe Mallett’s comments are insightful.
