* The Kendall Community Centre operates from three sites including the Scouts-owned property.

“Had council not stepped in to buy the site, it would have severely impacted on the Kendall Community Centre’s ability to deliver these important community services,” Mr Payne said.

** Centre manager Allison Haylett says the move to sell the land by the scouts flies in the face of community spirit.

“This is not doing the movement’s name much good in the Kendall community,” Ms Haylett said.

“There is a fair bit of concern in the community about the sale.”

Ms Haylett said the centre was important to Kendall.

The centre provides office facilities and internet access for residents. People come here to learn computer skills and we are a Centrelink access point,” Mrs Haylett said.

A second-hand book exchange also operates at the site.

So, is the Community Centre near the search area?
Interesting to hear about the optimal internet access (but FF had to drive to Kew, although his M-I-L had a close connection to the Comm. Centre?). Hmmm.

Didn’t the FF also fill a prescription? So obviously would have needed to make two stops if he utilized the internet access point at this location?
Also, as another member stated - perhaps the internet access provided was limited, maybe it was only for certain activities as it mentions it is used as a centerlink access point - maybe not for personal use or video links, or maybe he wanted to be in a more professional environment for the receivers of the call?

The Community Centre is on Comboyne Street in the centre of Kendall.

The mind boggles! So much is not right or straightforward with this case!

In 2014 (and still 2018) we tried to find out, in whose home little WT was sitting in front of a monitor (behind him recognizable the said wall hanging/picture).
thank you from germany!
I have gone back a few threads but just couldn't follow the line of thought ya'all were going for.
so....did it ever get resolved?

Hi k-mac, I don't recall it being resolved as such, it was a photo we hadn't seen before and was on the SFR whiteboard. William was in his spiderman suit, and it looked like it could have been a skype photo. Some thought perhaps it was taken after he was abducted and were trying to identify objects behind him in the photo. We don't know the answer to this.

<modsnip>

Hope returns to Bowraville two years later with the arrival of two of the state's most experienced officers - Detective Inspector Gary Jubelin, who would go on to be profiled in a series of Underbelly and Detective Inspector Rod Lynch, a senior investigator in the Ivan Milat murders.

In his submission to the inquiry, Det Insp Jubelin reflects on how two "uptight detectives" - officers from the city - struggled at first with the locals and what the community informed them was "Koori time" but that once they understood the significance of the racial divide, relationships were strengthened, a healthy respect grew and, slowly, startling evidence was brought to light.

A Coffs Harbour police officer with no experience in dealing with homicides, is placed in charge of the investigation into all three disappearances.

Bowraville inquiry reveals harsh truths about racism

Thankfully times have changed.

Speaking of Kew, many years ago my car was stolen from Blacktown NSW, they stole petrol and that was the last I heard about my car until 12 days later I was called by police to say it was found outside the Kew pub.
I asked the barman if he knew anything about it and he told me they are always finding stolen cars dumped there outside the pub. He said it was left running. It was hot wired. The barman also told me no cars get stolen from there.

To this day I wonder where do the thieves go from there?
The car was totally thrashed and a dog was obviously living in it and bags of dog food.

Sounds like Kew is an interesting place to live. Oh to be a fly on the wall in the Kew pub

Did the double quote work?? o_O

The surrounding thoughts on this photo, was that it was taken after William was snatched & was captured on some horrible site online :( because he is wearing his infamous spiderman suit & the photo appears to be taken via webcam.

My theory has always been that it was a much more innocent photo taken of William, via webcam, perhaps while chatting with his Daddy, & LE used it to compare to online images in case they stumbled across our boy online :( - webcams can produce more distorted images, the photo is a reference IMO.

The white material underneath his suit (seen in the photo) to me, is a child’s singlet & I recall in an interview FM says that the morning of William’s disappearance, she argued with him to wear a singlet under his suit at least, but he huffed & puffed & settled only for a Spiderman themed shirt under the top of his suit - if the photo was taken after he disappeared, why change the under shirt? Why keep the spiderman suit at all really!

Yes, your double quote worked.

My thoughts on this pic is that it has never been an original pic and because of that it's distorted.

People have copied it from the 60minutes video and enlarged etc etc., which is why it looks like a skype/internet call.

I think it's a pic that has been supplied to the Police but never released in public. Probably taken in the childrens playroom while William was wearing his loved spiderman suit.

ETA - and it was a T Shirt FM made him put under his suit IIRC

Yep, he was wearing a blue and red t-shirt underneath the suit in the "roar" photo

Yes, a blue & red shirt - very obviously visible in the roar photo - the photo in question has an under shirt/ singlet made of what looks like white material.
Whatever the origin of the photo, I have always believed it to be supplied by the family.

ETA - *pats self on back for double quote success*

In this country you are innocent until proven guilty. BS may very well be guilty but obviously LE have not got the evidence to prove it. If they do not have the evidence then perhaps he is not guilty. If LE are using the media to put suspicion of BS in the publics minds, then, to me, that seems highly unethical. At the very least it could be argued by a defence lawyer that BS would not receive a fair trial because of the media coverage. IMO

But we don’t know for sure that they don’t have the evidence, do we? Maybe they just haven’t shown their hands yet. T’s and i’s.

In this country the Court says you are innocent until proven guilty, let's look at it from a Police point of view whilst they are investigating a case.

The Police point of view HAS to be everyone is Guilty/Suspicious until proven innocent - otherwise there would be no need for courts, everyone would be innocent.

If they have the evidence then why no arrest, or even declaring BS a suspect. No, I don't believe they have the evidence and are being pushed towards an inquest. Hopefully I am wrong and there will be an announcement of an arrest shortly. But it would not surprise me in the least if the person arrested is not BS.

Not to jump on the bandwagon here - but if LE were indeed responsible for BS media “fame”, wouldn’t he be attempting to sue them as well? Just a thought, I really have no idea how that sort of thing works

I don't believe they have 'All' the evidence they need, or to please the DPP.

I do believe they are more interested in recovering William at this point.

I wouldn't be surprised either if it wasn't BS.
