I suppose that depends on whether or not the placement is permanent/adoption pending and possibly the security of the children. We don't know the answer to any of that though, do we?

Yes, I would think at least two of the 'others' are current POIs. We know that Bickford was also arrested around that time. And Spedding was arrested for child sex offences within 7 months of William's disappearance ... attention having been drawn to him in the December after William's disappearance, with the FACS investigation into his 'treatment of children'.

The other men that Spedding allegedly provided the victim(s) to could be the pedo ring spoken of. imo


Paul Bickford, who stepped down as GAPA president for “family reasons” last year, is serving a 16-month suspended sentence for indecently assaulting an 11-year-old girl ...
Another GAPA member, Anthony Jones, is behind bars and awaiting a September 14 sentencing for indecently assaulting a different 11-year-old child.

Both men — who are close friends — were arrested and charged in the time following the disappearance of William.

Bickford could be one of them.
I'm not on the same page though when it comes to BS as my interpretation of Dan Box's wording is they spoke to known "sex offenders" and DB specifically states "arrested at about the time William went missing". Just my interpretation but imo BS falls outside that description. IMO the report refers to the 20 RCSO's and particularly those who had been arrested.
What it might mean is there were others from the 20 who were arrested and are POI's who are unknown to us.

The police have interviewed dozens of people including a number of paedophiles. A Current Affair reported that about 20 registered sex offenders were living in the surrounding area of Kendall where Tyrrell went missing.

It is no longer believed the kidnapper is a member of a pedophile ring.
While the kidnapper may be male or female, police believe there is a strong chance they were acting as a lone operator.

Sounds, to me, that there is/was a pedo ring operating in that area ('legitimate line of inquiry') but it has no links to William or his disappearance.

They have likely infiltrated that group/arrested group members/thoroughly investigated each member's whereabouts at the time William went missing ... and so have been able to discount that line of inquiry. imo
