I can’t understand how an article that’s slanderous is allowed (to be published in the media) ? No information they’ve selectively provided explains anything other than highlighting their toxic personalities.
You mean slanderous against William’s BM? It can’t be slander against BD and BGM if they, presumably, agreed to participate.

Yeah KT's wish for ‘better support for women with domestic violence so they can leave’ for one.

It was good to hear Bruce Morcombe speak again. He seems like a really compassionate man. Hopefully, he will be able to advocate for not only William’s FP but his BM, as well as his BD and BGM if they’re willing. It would be wonderful to see them on the same side, fighting against the person who took William.

Yes he reached out in the beginning to police to offer his support. Jubes had not been told and was going to get back to him as I recall.

ADMIN NOTE:

Lay off the judgmental attitude of William's birth family unless you can tie your comments about them directly into his disappearance. They are considered victims and what they did 10 years ago, 5 years ago or whatever does not appear to have any bearing on him having gone missing.

I find it heart breaking reading the latest information in the Australian podcast. There was the biological family desperately trying to hang on to the kids that they loved, and there were the foster family trying to do the best that could for the kids that they had eventually loved over time. So very sad for the kids. There really needs to be a Royal Commission into Foster care. My heart goes out to the kids.

BBM.
I really don't understand how that relates to William's case. He couldn't have been placed with a more loving, stable family. IMO.

However, I do know that in Qld there have been many child deaths because children were left in homes that FACs knew to be unsuitable. Because of that there are many calls for a huge review and a very big broom, up here. IMO.

I am not saying otherwise. I am sure that the FF wanted William and his sister for all the right reasons, but the biological family also loved their kids. Maybe more resources should have been placed in helping the biological family cope with the problems that they were experiencing.

We don't know how much help they were offered or what shape or form it took, but I do know that it is an in-depth process before kids are placed in foster care. However, out of ignorance , we're probably not qualified to conjecture about William and his sister's cases. IMO. And we can't do that without discussing the BF and that's off limits. ^^^ See Sillybilly's post above.

I am sure that the latest podcast is an example of how the Foster Care System is failing so many kids. William is one of many thousands of kids that are removed from homes that are not regarded as “appropriate” only to be placed in foster homes where they are at further risk. (Before everyone attacks me I am not referring to the FCs of William and his sister).

BBM. Do you have a link for this please? The 'only to be placed in foster homes where they are at further risk.'

It is also stated that William is one of these kids. I have to very strongly disagree with that ( as you yourself so in brackets in your post).

William's FF are victims too.

Nowhere Child podcast: walls are changing, but William Tyrrell’s memory won’t fade

It is a very long article. Just points on what else was mentioned

* BF says he took off with William and hid in a granny flat for 7 weeks. He explained it was a crazy thing to do and reasoned that " I didn't want them to take William. He is my son."
* William's foster home in Sydney had a swimming pool, plantation shutters, polished floor boards and big screen TV's.
* There is a run down of the foster parents description of events (which we have all heard)
* The former Primer Baird authorised the reward after getting the advice. If it makes someone come forward - lets do it.
* Former Police Minister Troy Grant authorised the resources. The type never before seen in NSW.
* Experts from around the globe were left perplexed. It's like the X files - just vanished.
* It says William bf is not an easy man to speak to - he is of few words. It goes on to say he acknowledges he was not doing enough back in 2013 to satisfy the courts he was capable of caring for his son. But he still had hope because they had another child and a 4th on the way.
* BF doesn't think he will ever find out what happened. He is affraid.
* BF was informed a few months ago about the inquest. He got himself together. Without a lawyer, because he could not afford one, he attended everyday.
Legal aid was approved. He cannot predict the inquest outcomes. But it has had an enormous impact on him as a person.

The article ends - I try every day to work at overcoming something so traumatic. But poor William. He has suffered the most.”

Oh please, why are you always on the attack? It states clearly on the podcast that 47,000 kids are removed from homes to go into Foster care homes - not always better homes and circumstances.

As for the Foster Care system being broken, I speak from experience. as a Social Worker with over 30 years of experience I have seen the best and the worse of the system. I have also seen the best and the worse of Foster carers who go into the system for the best and the worse of reasons unfortunately. I truly hope that at the end of this inquest, regardless of the outcome, the system will be looked into.

I have previously worked in childrens homes.
They are farrrr from perfect, can have unqualified staff whom are totally out of there depth with caring for trauma affected c&yp...but it appears that is where the future of care is headed.

Not many people want to put there hands up to the mammoth responsibilty of caring for a child with traumatic histories, sometime with physical or emotional/mental health issues, plus go through the rigmarole of family visits/access and a casework questioning every decision or scrutinising choices.

It does appear that the "future" of OOHC will be back to an "institutionalised" model.

I wish we could focus more on intervening when the family is shown to be struggling... we are moving that way, but its a slowww process.

All IMO.

It may well state that on the Podcast, but isn't this thread about William being missing and not the Foster System, after all SC Craddock did say that William isn't missing because he was a foster child.

I agree the foster care system does need to be looked at. Why do we have 47,000 kids in foster care? I have seen people in my life and profession who bring children into the world for all the wrong reasons as well. I am not making any reference to this case.
Our health care, mental health care, welfare, justice and policing system could do with broom through them as well. imo.

If this case is solved and it is found that William being in foster care had not a thing to do with him being taken and possibly murdered. How can that recommendation be made?

“William didn’t disappear because he was in foster care,” Gerard Craddock SC tells the court @10NewsFirst @10Daily

It may well state that on the Podcast, but isn't this thread about William being missing and not the Foster System, after all SC Craddock did say that William isn't missing because he was a foster child.

Thank you Bo and sleep for the very important refocus.
