He is now being shown the image of where he was living, his parents’ house, on Batar Creek Rd. He is asked “are you sure you weren’t standing out there on the 12th of September 2014... in time to see a car coming along that road”.

Mr McInally tells the court he wasn’t standing there. He said Mr Palmer’s version of events is not what he recalls. “I didn’t see the car in front of my parent’s house”.

The coroner clarified for the court that Mr McInally admits he saw the car, but says he saw it in front of the post office, not in front of his parent’s house.

He is asked about a man named Geoff Owen, who he played darts with. He tells the court he didn’t know him well. Mr Owen is also expected to testify in the coming days.

Mr Spedding’s lawyer is now questioning Mr McInally about the sighting. He told the court he was in a “bad boating accident” six months before he told Mr Palmer about the car.

Michael McInally has now been excused. The rest of the testimony today will be heard in a closed court, so we will not be able to hear it.

could a white commodore be the white station wagon seen by ffc in the street or the white 4wd seen speeding in the area?

So, let me get this straight …

Tim Palmer says Michael McInally – who was on ice at the time – saw a white car driving crazily down Batar Creek Road, and the driver appeared to be pushing something down in the car with his hand(s).
He says Michael told him he ‘knew of’ the driver.
He said this happened outside Michael McInally’s parents house on Batar Creek Road.

Then Michael McInally says he saw a white car - a Commodore - that he'd never seen before, and the driver looked like he was leaning over to get phone reception. He had something in his hand that could have been a phone.
McInally thinks he remembers the date because he had a dr appt that morning.
Says that he didn’t know who the driver was.
And that this happened in front of the Kendall post office.
McInally plays darts with Geoff Owen (who I believe had done work on FGMs decking).

Geoff Owen apparently could own a white car.
And McInally waited until 2018 to tell Tim Palmer the story.

There are also a few mentions of Spedding in there, as Spedding’s lawyer tries to establish that the driver was not Spedding.

Is that right? Very confusing tweets/testimony.

I hope that McInally has the right day. He was apparently on ice at the time, and didn't relay this tale to Tim Palmer until 2018.
By 2018 so much of this stuff was out there in the media ......

BBM. Well that could be the most important thing! Doesn't know, or doesn't want to be seen to know?

I wonder if he usually takes ice to prepare for a doctor's appointment.

Eight asterisks.
