He is asked about a man named Geoff Owen, who he played darts with. He tells the court he didn’t know him well. Mr Owen is also expected to testify in the coming days.

This was tweeted Wednesday. I thought he may have been one of the witnesses in the closed court

Sorry meant to reply to South Aussies post above

Thanks. I could understand if he is set to appear in Taree, being a local tradie who may have work scheduled that his income relies on. I just hadn't read anywhere that it was specifically Monday that he is scheduled to appear.

I took him to be a local as seems to have played darts with McInally and co

Is Geoff Owen going to be called on Monday? So far, I have only read that Paul Savage will be called on Monday, so I must have missed that.

I am interested because there are only certain days during this coming week that I can be around for the live tweets.

Sorry I think there has been some confusion... I was asking about Mr Savage .... in that particular post....
but also interested in hearing what Mr Owen has to say ...

I don't suppose this Donohoe fellow is the fellow who is supposed to testify who will be coming in from jail? (Has Donohoe already served his sentence? Did he win his appeal?)
Right, thanks, I was assuming RD was the person currently in gaol; notwithstanding that he appeared in person at the inquest. But he was sentenced to a minimum of three years in November 2015 and apparently (according to Kiwi who listened to Ray Hadley) he was on bail for most of the time between his arrest in September 2014 and the trial the following year. So he would have been eligible for release on parole in late 2018. (His appeal was unsuccessful.) I am thinking that the search of the van in August 2018 was just in time before RD's potential release.

Yes, I am looking forward to what Mr Savage has to say also. Always coming across as a chatty man, prior to this callup to the inquest. I wonder if he will be so chatty and revealing in court.

There is a lot I would like to hear about him.
Why he was recorded by Jubes.
What area he claims he was 'lost' in for 2 hours.
What was the question about the loud radio referring to.
Did he change clothes that morning, and why.
Did he go outside to see his wife off to bingo that morning.

I am wondering what the link is in the first place to even have this fellow on the suspect list in the WT case. They searched his van, but I don't remember reading that they had found anything relative to the case? He was part of the search party, but that was after the disappearance took place. He had a white van, but it seems the focus has thus far been on these 3 vehicles seen by FFC, none of which is a white van. He has sex convictions, but not with minors, and nothing has been noted to say he has pedophilic tendencies. It seems a stretch to me if they have him under suspicion just because i)he's odd; ii)he's known to sleep in his van if working in the area; iii)he participated as an official searcher in the search; iv)he drove a white van (which as far as we've been told, a white van hasn't been suggested as a vehicle of interest(?); v)he has sex convictions of a homosexual nature with young adult developmentally-delayed victims. Did I miss something?

I suppose that since most of the week's testimony was under pub-ban, we may have missed most of this discussion?

Maybe someone tipped off police that he was seen hovering in the bush at some point in the past or after Williams disappearance. Or he bragged in jail to a cellmate or let something slip on the inside or another witness has since come forward to say that they had been holding on to information for some time out of fear. Who knows? We have seen so many new bits info at the inquest it would not surprise me if the police already have something and are not releasing it for tactical reasons. Wasn't it stated that his lawyer told him not to say anything at all at the inquest? If so that in itself raises my suspicions.

It was the disability support person, at the silent police interview, who said that Donohoe was told by his lawyer not to say anything in the silent police interview.

Then there was some kind of submission by someone after the playing of the police interview at the inquest, and Donohoe was dismissed from testifying any further.
Lia Harris said in the bonus episode of the podcast that - whatever the submission was - the judge issued a suppression on it so Lia could not speak of it in the podcast episode.

One thing that could be in his favour and help rule him out is that he still owns the car that he had at the time.... just thinking back to that line in the CO Podcast.... (cars have been sold....)

Or more importantly in William’s favour is that police did find some evidence in his car / possessions relating to William that they haven’t released as yet?

It wasn’t reported if they asked his brother at the inquest if he and his father got rid of any of his possessions when they stored his van and possessions....??

Isn't it frustrating that we know nothing about any of the forensics on anyone!

Nothing about the testing of Spedding's PC, mattress, phone, properties.
Nothing about the testing of all the vehicles that have been searched.
Nothing about the testing of items found during the forest searches.
Nothing about the testing of Donohoe's things.

Not that I don't understand the lack of revelation. I am sure that the Coroner and Mr Craddock know, and that is what is important.
But I sure wish Jubes would send me a PM and tell me! :D :D :D

I believe the explanation for the two cars is simple: both cars are owned by the Sharpley family. The grey sedan is the father's, and the white Starwagon (NOT a station wagon, but close to the description given by FM) is Anne-Maree's car. The FM's description even tells of how the white vehicle doesn't slope down at the back but is more abruptly angled. FM's description tells of these cars being seen from around 6:30 in the morning. The testimony of both Sharpleys is that Mr S went to work just after 6:30am, and that his grey sedan was parked (nose pointing up Benaroon Drive). Both he and she say they saw no strange cars there that day, and both drove out looking for possible traffic. It's not clear whether Anne-Maree's car was parked in the driveway or on the roadside, but FM may have been mistaken about their exact positions. The three critical reasons I believe these are the two cars are: 1) They are reasonable matches of the descriptions 2) No one else saw any 'strange' cars 3) The police didn't release the info for a year - suggesting they had initially come to the same conclusion, then re-thought about it when Tony Jones came into the frame. An important fact here is that the 'oddness' that struck the FM about the cars was that they were supposedly parked between two driveways. She took this to mean 'between two properties'. But guess what? The Sharpley house has two distinct driveways - the cars were parked between them.
Re BBM: Which house are you talking about? I thought, but I could be wrong, that AMS had #31, which does have 2 driveways but they are contiguous as they meet the street. There is no space between the two driveways in which cars could park. This is not the house with the 2 corresponding cars on Sixmaps; that is #21, and it does not have 2 driveways.

Would the pool have been open that time of year.

Not sure 2014 but last year

No plan to extend pool hours

A Port Macquarie-Hastings Council spokesperson says Kendall and Laurieton pools will close to the public on April 2 before reopening at the start of September school holidays.

The guy with the folded arms is not a member of the paranormal group, the guy that is making the docuseries is. He runs a couple of paranormal groups including the ghost hunters one. Not sure I'd take all he says in his Youtube videos as gospell.

Thanks Sleep I went back reread the 200 odd comments on that post SM and realized I got that bit wrong. The paranormal guy from Port Mac had posted about the person with folded arms. Thanks for the correction!

I wish Jubes would just send me a private message regardless.

That would make my day

The Sharpleys are described as living across the street from FGM's house, so very likely at #31. imo

Though this doesn't help explain why the cars from #21 would be parked in front of #31 that morning ... but I think that perhaps they were. Or at least parked where FM could see them from the window.
There is only one property between #21 and #31, according to Google maps.

I can't work out why Tim Donohoe was called to the inquest. Just to tell the Coroner that he didn't remember his brother's 2014 arrest, and to say the van was put in their father's shed some time after Donohoe went to prison??
There must be more to his testimony than that ... likely suppressed. imo

Video was shown at the inquest of detectives searching in August 2018 Donohoe’s van hidden in a shed on a Wagga property where his older brother, Tim, and parents lived.

Tim Donohoe, 45, told the inquest he didn’t remember his brother’s 2014 arrest.
“(But) I became aware he went to prison later after that,” Tim Donohoe said.
He said his brother’s van had been taken to the property and put inside the shed “sometime after he was in prison”.

The fact that his brother has testified about the van in the garage is enough for me.

More I think of it the more I wonder if they are found something in the van after he went to jail and sat on it for some time until last year even? Do we know if the brothers are on talking terms?

Coroner wanted to clarify how long the van had been in the shed, or how it got there? There might be some uncertainty about whether the van that was found was the same van RD was driving in September 2014? Wagga is a long way from Taree.

Edit: Note, number plates were missing.
