Spending a lot of time on him. Interesting question about anything covering the luggage area of the car.
Yes, a lot if interesting questions, Wex. He's definitely coming across as an unreliable witness and untrustworthy. IMO.

Wonder if he's playing the 'doddering old man', or is trying to be rat cunning?

NSW police have revealed the discovery of a large, dirt-floored hole in the ground, covered by tin roof sheets, on the property owned by an elderly man who lives across the road from the house William Tyrrell went missing from.................................

He agreed that the space where the pool used to be had a dirt floor, and was covered by a “piece of tin” that used to form part of a roof.
“Is there is a space underneath?” Mr Craddock said.
“Yes, there is,” he said.

The Savage's had a small pool that had been emptied and covered over with scrap. PS can not be certain if it was emptied before William disappeared. The structure may have no significance, but if it does it was not explained said CO.

Mr Savage is now walking detectives through his movements after William disappeared, starting with his visit to the foster grandmother’s house. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

“I was thinking about the little one. Just wondering where he might’ve went,” he told detectives as they walked towards 48 Benaroon Drive. @10NewsFirst @10Daily
Thank you UT for this massive catch-up. A huge bit of work!

Mr Savage is asked to walk detectives through exactly how he searched the bush that day. He walks up the fire trail at the end of Benaroon Drive into the bushland. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

This follows the same path he used to take on his daily walk every day. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

A large part of what Mr Savage is saying on the tape is beeped out. He’s pointing to areas in the bush. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

I could be mistaken, but didn't he say earlier that he took a shorter routes in his search? Like 30 - 45 mins instead of the usual 2 hours?

Why would his commentary be beeped out?

Why would his commentary be beeped out?
could be to protect the identy of "lyn" the woman who was living in a caravan in the bush?

Hang on. Didnt he say at some point that he was locking up his house just before or just after his 2nd breakfast because he was going to be out of town, to Casino to his brother?

Yes, he did. Just another inconsistency in his habits & testimony. IMO.

The inconsistency that is most confusing to me is that PS told the detectives on the tape that he didn’t have anything planned the day William disappeared, but we know he was planning to go to Casino. I hope they grill him more on this.

He’s asked to make his “best guess” about which route he took to cut back through the bush towards his house. Craddock stops the tape and asks why he went into the bush instead of looking around his own house. He said he doesn’t know. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

The court heard Mr Savage did not manage to identify the “wallaby or kangaroo track” he used to cut back through the bush. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

He was asked why he cut into the bush instead of staying on the track. He said he thought “if I go down there I’ve got a better chance of hearing him”. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

Im thinking this is partly why Jubes was very very interested in him
