So his lawyer is highlighting that he is a poor dithery man who may be merging his statement and convos with the police together, who has helped in the search all off his own back, and is helping everyone as much as he can.

But, in actual fact, he is being no help at all.

I know they have to represent their clients' interests, but I don't know how some lawyers sleep at night. Every one has a right to a fair go, but there should be no cover ups, blatant lies and manipulation. IMO.

I agree. If there was a woman living in a caravan in the bush at the time that a small child was being searched for I think she would be taking the stand at some point too. So far haven't seen her mentioned BUT there are several people who went in front of the court and their names were withheld and the court was closed. I wonder if she is one of those?

While many resources have been used and spent, multiple parents have been grieving, a sister has lost her little brother and has been going through that massive adjustment, a darn good officer has been forced off the case, another officer has been reassigned to cold case review ....

i dont know, maybe hes proud and not confident if he actually saw something so wasnt confident to bring it up to police, especially if he found them intimidating, just trying to figure out his headspace,
i currently dont feel he did it but i think if its proven his wife wasnt home then it changes everything, and its most likely a neighbour because of the timing and speed of disappearance

Not that we've been told. Doubt he'd be allowed to go for for 2 hour walks in the bush every morning if he did. It would be too dangerous. Nor would he be living by himself without any carers, IMO.

My thoughts as well bear. If the wife was there at the times stated. If it's all lies then maybe? Still so many options.

Yes that has been my experience with MIL. Very much so.

I am not so sure that PS is acting like a dithering old man. He is reminding me of my mother in law so much in how one minute he is pretty sharp and then the next minute he cannot remember things. Dementia in the early stages is like that. I was once having a conversation with my MIL and out of the blue she asked me where her father was. He had died 50 years ago.

I can't imagine the Coroner putting someone with dementia on the stand. What a huge waste of time and resources.

I would think that the person's statement and available interviews would have to suffice if dementia was an issue.

Even FGM has not been put on the stand, as far as we know. Another elderly person who is closely involved in William's case, and could have acted as verification for questions others have been asking.

He may have deteriorated a lot mentally in the last 5 years, my husband is same age as PS , and I could see him getting confused if he was being asked about things 5 years ago and when various statements were made, Im always reminding him of things, if he still had Heather she would probably remind him.!
