could this salvation army young hope person mentioned here be mw?

Both he and William's biological mother talked openly of the time they had hidden William away, in February 2012, when he was just seven months old to stop FACS workers handing him to the foster couple.

In her police statement, William's birth mother says, "I just couldn't imagine handing over my son … eventually we were found by the police … and William was taken from us."

A day later, on March 16, 2012, William was given to the foster couple, and came under the supervision of the Salvation Army's Young Hope out-of-home care program.

Ben Atwood was named as William's Young Hope case worker.

OK, so what about co-worker, did the journalist just assume that as well?
Which job though ???? (A past role, or a current occupational role ???)
That is the real question …IMO

Not sure exactly, years ago …. but it wasn’t that long after William went missing.. (comparatively) . It is actually hard to find records of it even existing ….

JMO
Her job might not have been tenable after she gave evidence to the royal commission.

Edit: Actually the program itself might not have had a future after the royal commission, but I thought that about the Catholic Church, and it's still in Australia.

The foster mother's co-worker and friend of more than a decade recalled a distressed phone call in which the parent reported kicking the youth after they tried to trip the younger foster child.
One could also question why this person did not “mandatory report” the assault incident to FACS???

There appear to have been many failures regarding the alleged assault of the other child and her safety ….

IMO

We don't know who reported to DCJ. Lonergan testified that they didn't report because they were actively monitoring.
If the FM was speaking with Michelle White, then FM self reported.
If the FM was speaking with a friend, who knows who reported. Maybe FM, maybe the teacher, maybe the friend.

DCJ obviously knew there were problems because the child was in counselling sessions with Emma Ballard in Sep and Oct about why she was acting out.

imo

My personal opinion only …
DJC found about the alleged assault at the time of the NSWCC Hearing … I think they would have been in attendance as they would have been considered an “interested party” in legal terms …

Usual practice of the DJC or FACS etc is once an allegation is made of assault etc.. the child is immediately removed, and the allegation is “investigated“ by the Department ..if false, the child can be returned to the home at a later date … but the investigations take some considerable time …

Therefore, I believe, that the child was removed, by the Department, the day they were informed …

wondering out loud... The start button.

a/.WHO decided the girl NEEDED counselling.....?
b/.why was SHE the problem???
c/.Why was it decided the girl was acting out??

a/. Main care giver? Projection?
b/.Gaslighting manipulation?
c/.Shifting blame to loss of control?

Possible this child wasn't acting out.
Likely she has been defending herself.

Emma Ballard had counselling sessions with the child in September and October 2021 and told the court the child did not like the foster parents' rules.

The child reported feeling left out and annoyed by the presence of a younger child placed in the home months earlier and responded by refusing to do chores and homework, stomping around the house and slamming doors.

"All of (their) behaviours did seem age-appropriate," Ballard said

The reason I posted the info was this is what I consider acting out.
Yes, age appropriate. Hormonal pre-teens can be moody. Nothing unusual about that. imo

But was the counsellor at that time looking for and aware of child abuse allegations with this child?

Or was this in the lead up to all of that.

Which is what my point was.

Not what the counsellors professional opinion is.
But WHO and why was counselling instigated.

easy to blame the child for her own predicament.

Its all normal...
sweep under the rug.....TICK.

Control....regained.

Where is the quote about Michelle White from please Slouth?
It is in Caroline Overington’s Book, Missing William Tyrrell
Chapter 6

The kick was revisited on Thursday when former Salvation Army Captain and family friend Michelle White told the court that SD confided in her after the alleged assault.

Ms White described the foster mother as 'forthcoming' and that she acknowledged that she 'at times has not lived up to her own expectations' of being a mother.

According to the statement Ms White gave to police after the kick, the foster mother said she was ‘ashamed' of what she had done, admitting that she had 'lost it' at the time.

Ms White then asked if the kick had left a visible mark and the foster mother said it had not.

unnamed in this article

The foster mother's co-worker and friend of more than a decade recalled a distressed phone call in which the parent reported kicking the youth after they tried to trip the younger foster child.

'I questioned that a bit and she said: 'No, I kicked (them) really hard,'' she told the court.

The friend described the foster mother as an ethical person with a lot of integrity who was extremely resilient and intent on providing a safe and secure home.

Mr Stratton asked if the foster mother sounded upset when she reported kicking the child.

'She was distraught,' her friend responded.

From Slouth, 1.03pm today rsbm, bbm

That particular photo was used because William was in foster care at the time of his disappearance, it was FACS that provided the photo to the Police for that initial release. That particular photo was the most recent one on William’s case file at the time …. (If a child in care goes missing, FACS still hold all the power as to what photos etc are released …and Police have to liaise with them )

After Michelle White, arrived in Kendall, one of her first jobs was to find a better photo of William, for release by the Police ..
It seems I have to amend something here and my assumption has made me look like an 🤬🤬🤬, done a disservice to MW. From further information I have been given and can't link, MW was not a co-worker with FFC. It was another witness entirely and my mistake. Sorry

I do believe it was poorly written in the article, and it was easy to make that assumption …. But just my opinion …
