Just popping the latest episode here from youtube

Thanks for the link Doc…I had stopped listening ….

One of the most devastating sentences in the podcast (to me), Is that they revealed yet another Witness has died….. The “protected witness” …let’s hope SFR asked him everything possible, as there is no going back now….

IMO

And how important that pulled Ch7 two-part series about FA might be.
And now that witness has died too ….

William’s case is looking so bleak at present, IMO…. I just wish someone could “accidentally” find him and some fresh answers could be revealed ….

Episode 15 - Cherylee

A third unsolved murder. Will the police act?

The podcast also reveals new evidence linking Cherylee to a convicted child abuser came to light at the William Tyrrell inquest almost six years ago – but was not followed up with her family by the police.

snip

Mrs Northam told us that Abbott also used to work at a local market where Cherylee’s father had a stall: “He helped at the markets out there, where Rex and (Cherylee’s stepmother) Karen used to sell stuff.”

Her statement alleges that Frank Abbott used to describe how he drove a particular back road north of Taree, close to the site where Cherylee’s body was discovered.

It also alleges a number of potential links between Abbott and Margaret Cox, whose body was recovered from the Manning River outside Taree in 1996.

Episode 15 - Cherylee

A third unsolved murder. Will the police act?

My gosh, that is a sad episode. :(

So many missing people in that general area. There must be about 20 that Dan named - though I didn't count them. Maybe I will go back and count them at some point.

The police think maybe a serial killer. Ivan Milat, the Granny Killer, someone else.

But it doesn't sound as if a heck of a lot has ever been done about it. Their families hear nothing. They call and are told it is under investigation, but we know that David Laidlaw didn't even crack open the files laying on his desk.

Kudos to Dan and Nina for informing us. It is an absolute tragedy. imo

From Dan and Nina's description (in the latest episode, when they went to the area of the bird tree) it sounds as if it will be a miracle if William or any of the missing people are found.

Darkness, thick undergrowth, layer upon layer of fallen leaves, twigs, sticks, dirt. Complete quiet and isolation. With only small bush trails and pathways here and there. :(

Very sad SA, I had the same sorta feeling at the end of the Taree inquest sessions, after hearing so much depravity about horrible humans that I had to take a break from this case for awhile.

I hope Dan & Nina are looking after themselves.

Just need to clarify this ^^^^. I should have said missing and murdered people. Because people have been found, murdered. But nobody has ever been held accountable for the homicides.

30 cases in the first list at your link, 34 cases (with 35 names) in the second list. That is a heck of a lot unanswered cases.
And rather alarming is that they are predominantly all women on the list!

This latest podcast reminded me of the murder of Leigh Leigh in Stockton - Newcastle in 1989 and how that case was managed. Although people were eventually charged for that, it was a very long and flawed and horrific process.

Is there anyone that recalls whether the police verified the testimony of foster mum and nan playing outside with the children in the morning?

Did any neighbours confirm either sighting or at least hearing the kids playing in the yard that morning?. Foster Nan was annoyed that William was being so loud and boisterous.

When the interviewer asked her ‘what were your first thoughts when you realised you couldn’t hear him, and there was only silence?.

And she goes… ‘aah Heaven’.

There was a frozen moment before she quickly fumbles it into a little bit of humour, boys being boys and all…

It’s a quiet street and noise carries so presumably the squeaks and squeals while riding their bikes, and the daddy tiger roars were heard by one or more of the neighbours.

I think I remember neighbours saying they hadn’t sighted them, but surely they would have heard them?

I had to read about that one (I wasn't living here at the time).

This was the police response for the lack of charging everyone involved .... Leigh's mother said that when she asked Detective Chaffey why others were not being charged, he asked her if she knew "how much it costs to run an investigation". Link

Is that why there are so many unsolved murders and missing people in the general area of where William disappeared?

And the only two young boys named (Lewis ‘Buddy’ Kelly and Clinton Speedy-Deroux) are indigenous.

Such a horrific case .

There is a great book called Who Killed Leigh Leigh by Kerry Carrington.
