Not sure about sleuthing someone who is not a POI, but something in your post made a lightbulb go off. I could see a scenario where he arrived at 4:45 or so, and she was there. Might he have taken her phone and messed with the texts to appear that she was on her way but never arrived?

I know it's way out on a limb for my practical way of approaching a case, but if he did arrive that early what was he up to?
VIDEO SURVEILLANCE PLEASE!!!!

I have certainly been leaving this scenario as an open possibility. Exactly.

Then again, he would have called her immediately upon his arrival or within prior minutes of his arrival imo and experience. LE did question, search and DNA him for a reason and LE would have the logs and phone info to narrow down what transpired.
The first calls we hear about from his phone to her are at 5:05 am.

howabout high on mollys. or snortn la coka. i wouldn't put that outta the stratosphere of possibilities. how about the notion that they BOTH (guy friend and her,) were drinking that night, and both were driving. AND she crashed her car (or the mysterious 2nd passenger)! well, thats a good example of the gen taking care of themselves, and her circle of friends not saying a peep bout party? thats how they look out for each other.

my kidnap theory was the furthest strech of thinking and craziness, and its absurd. but, its out thar as a theory regardless!

the roommate in her first interview seems to alude and talk in depth about how a salinas came home from accident, didnt she? so it seems like someone (roommate!) talked w salinas AFTER accident. wouldnt anyone in sound mind say, HEY TIME FOR U TO CHILL BABY BABY and get in yr bed and lets deal w life tmrw?

first thing i know when most ladies git into a wreck, or trouble, is they call their dad (if they are close to them.) back up into a car? dad on autodial. cop pulls you over? dad, what do i do! accident? DAD DAD please help.

her dad was close to her, from reports. she didn't contact him. what was she up to, hiding?

AND THE WHEELS SPIN!

Nothing seems to have changed that much from MY college days. :P

Yeah...the wasted taking care of the wasted. It never happens.

The roommate did state, however that she DIDN'T SEE Adrienne after she wrecked her car. She did say they were all "too busy partying" to notice if she had even come back to the apartment.

But someone knew she came back and changed clothes. It could be they knew that night or didn't know or realize it until her dad called or the police came around asking questions.

This is still a 'very gray area'.

As for calling your dad, I was always very close to my dad, but I would have never called him at 3:44 a.m. I would have been too scared and probably too drunk.

Does anyone know if cab have cameras?

I was looking into the cab company a little more and he is "big" into using social media as a form of business. He really isnt a little company imo and as of 2012 had 18 cars and expected to have 85 by june of this year. Thats alot of cars imo.

I think some company's do have camera's. I don't know any that do however.

Wide? When the dispatcher dispatches a call, can the other cabdrivers hear it too?

Do they sometimes compete for fares?

  • #245
I wonder if anybody has played an audio sample of A.S.' voice for both the dispatcher and driver. Its a long shot but it is possible that it was not A.S. that made the calls.

This is a difficult question for several reasons and I am not really prepared to answer.

We use direct cell to cell calls in my company.
I'm still too cheap (small) to use radio's.

The company radio's would be set to a channel and anyone on their channel could hear the call. I just do not know enough about it to go into better detail.

I think it is possible however that another cab company in the area would have picked Adrienne up no questions asked if Adrienne mistakingly thought it was her driver.
It happens all the time, you pull up to the pickup address and your call is getting into another company's vehicle, especially in public locations like bars, gas stations where cabs hangout. It's money, this is a cut throat business.

I just posted on the article re missing girls in the area.

"In a place like this, they would get out, look around, make sure the person wasn't in the store," Simon said. He said his son did just that but never saw Salinas. "

Snipped from the article: Dad states that his son actually got out to look to see if A.S.was around. Surely he is not going to say that if it isn't true, since it could be so easily verified by video surveillance.

I think LE already has her cell phone records. In fact I think I read somewhere that reported same.

They also have the boyfriend's cell phone, from reports I have seen.

I just don't think they are necessarily sharing all this info with the public.

"We have done a pretty large canvas of the entire neighborhood," Pooley said. "Detectives are following up and looking at her cellphone records, emails and social media accounts."

-direct quote from Sgt Pooley.

It was not in the context of saying her phone had been found by LE, but rather that LE had used phone records. Pooley (Speaking for LE detectives) only noted that LE were looking through her cellphone records, emails, and her social networking for clues.

i think it was page14 of the original thread on a salinas, my first post alluded to a rant/hypothesis of epic 'weird cant be true' porportions

*****
i hypothesized that the set $$$ for her on the gofundme.com website, screamed out that potentially she was being held and a dowry was being collected for her. it made no sense, that 10,000 was set on gofundme by her mum.
and, the flyer was a diff fund raise correct?; its now, same amount!?

******

well, thats some crazy theory, NOW that i read what i was initially thinking. seems absolutely insane!!!!!

RSBM: just what I bolded and underlined from your post, that's all. Ahem.

And O/T - when you mention a certain page number (to locate a post) please bear in mind that the page number differs per your settings. I view 50 posts on one page, not 25, so my page breaks differently. Might be easier to refer to a post number (top right side of each post).

Here is the only info LE (Sgt. Pooley) has directly provided and quoted that I can find:

By GEETIKA RUDRA
June 18, 2013
"Tonight Arizona police are considering conducting a sonar search of the bottom of a community lake for the body of a Tempe college student whose car was found with two punctured tires, according to police.

"Unfortunately, we have been down this road too many times before, where we have found bodies of young people in the lake. Nothing indicates that she is down there, but we are trying to eliminate everything we can," Sgt. Mike Pooley of the Tempe Police Department told ABCNews.com.

What we KNOW:

1. Adrienne and her boyfriend left a party at her apartment sometime Friday night (early Saturday morning) and drove to her apartment. They were arguing and continued to argue when they got to boyfriend's place. Then they came back but she jumped out of the car a couple of blocks before getting home.

What we DON'T KNOW:

Whose car were they in? Were they in his car or her car? If they were in her car how did he get back to his place? What time did this occur?

What we KNOW:

2. Adrienne's roommates said she left to go back to the boyfriend's place because she was "upset over the argument" and wanted to "talk to him". They say she packed a "big purse" and took it with her, indicating it was an overnight bag.

What we DON'T KNOW:

What time did this occur? Was it at 3:00 a.m. as initially reported or was it at 3:30 a.m. as later reported? Or was it at 3:40 a.m. ? What was in the "big purse". Was her wallet in there or did she leave it behind?

What we KNOW:

3. At 3:44 a.m. a woman called 911 and reported seeing a vehicle meeting Adrienne's car's description hit the median on Rio Salada Parkway. The woman referred to "they" when asked how many people were in the car. She said the car "sped" away from the site of impact. The woman further stated she 'thought' she saw someone in the passenger seat.

What we DON'T KNOW:

We don't know if the woman caller was alone or driving. She could have been with someone else who has a better recollection of who was in the car. We don't know if 911 dispatched an officer to the scene. We don't know who was in or who was driving Adrienne's car.

What we KNOW:

4. We know that Adrienne's car had two flat tires and some front end damage and was locked and abandoned a block or two away from the site of the accident. There was no sign of a struggle or foul play. The "big purse" was not in the car.

What we DON'T KNOW:

Who left the car there. How long it took to get the car there. Why it was left in that particular spot. How someone as small as Adrienne could manage to drive an impaired vehicle with two flat tires. Why whoever was driving the car didn't stop at the site of the accident.

What we KNOW:

5. We know that it has been 'reported by media' that Adrienne went back to the apartment following the accident and changed clothes before leaving again and also left behind her "keys and wallet".

What we DON'T KNOW:

We don't know if this is true. No one living there has verified this, to our knowledge. One roommate said they were too busy partying to notice if she had returned. We don't know if she left a key or keys. We don't know what identification of credit cards were in her wallet. We don't know why someone says she returned home and changed unless they saw her or saw that she had left the clothes they had seen her wearing somewhere noticeable. We don't know if she had money with her or other forms of identification. We don't know what was in the "big purse".

What we KNOW:

6. We know that sometime between 4:10 a.m. and 4:17 a.m. ELEVEN calls were made from Adrienne's cell phone to her boyfriend's cell. We know that no v-mails were left.

What we DON'T KNOW:

We don't know why she made so many calls in such a short time. This would have been more than one call per minute, eleven times. We don't know why she didn't leave voicemails. We don't know where she was when she made these calls. We don't know why the boyfriend didn't answer.

What we KNOW:

7. At 4:23 a.m. a call was made to a cab company from Adrienne's phone asking a cab to meet her at the AM/PM store.

What we DON'T KNOW:

We don't know for sure if she was the one who made the call. We don't know if this is the only cab company she called. We don't know why she wanted the cab company to meet her at the AM/PM store. We don't know where she was when the call was made. We don't know where she wanted the cab driver to take her.

What we KNOW:

8. At 4:27 she sent a text to her boyfriend saying she was "coming over".

What we DON'T KNOW:

We don't know where she was when the text was sent. We don't know if it was her who sent the text. We don't know why she never mentioned the accident in her calls or text.

What we KNOW:

9. 5:00 a.m. This the time Adrienne was reported to have been last "seen".

What we DON'T KNOW:

Who saw her. Where she was when she was seen. How accurate this time and information was. What she was doing. What she was wearing.

What we KNOW:

10. At 5:05 a.m. the cab driver called Adrienne on her phone.

What we DON'T KNOW:

We don't know what the conversation was when he called. We don't know for sure that he spoke with her.

What we KNOW:

11. At 5:06 am Adrienne called the cab driver telling him "she would be there in a minute".

What we DON'T KNOW:

We don't know what the cab driver said. We don't know where Adrienne was when this call was made. We don't know why she called him back one minute later after he had called her. We don't know for sure it was Adrienne who made the call. We don't know what his response was to her when she said she would be there in a minute.

What we KNOW:

12. 5:07 a.m. The cab driver called Adrienne's phone and the call went to her voice mail.

What we DON'T KNOW:

We don't know why she didn't answer. We don't know why he was calling her back only one minute after she had called him to say she was only one minute away. We don't know if her battery died or if the phone had been turned off.

What we KNOW:

13. Her father found her car abandoned at 2 PM on Father's day, approximately 32 hours after the last known call from the cab driver.

What we DON'T KNOW:

What happened to Adrienne Salinas after her last call to the cab driver at 5:06 AM.

Yeah at this point the media has flubbed the facts do much that I'm going to of believe the words as quoted and dictated directly by LE.

Unfortunately they still haven't given us much since that June 18 conference w Sgt. Pooley to go off of.

oh man, I appreciate your KNOW/DON'T KNOW summary - wow, that took time and energy! Too bad her family and friends don't know how much we care...

however - AND THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NO SLAM ON YOU AT ALL, I THINK YOU ROCK - but I am not convinced that we "know" everything you purport that we do. We KNOW these are things that been reported, but who knows if anyone is lying, adding their own asumptions, or leaving things out strategically, KWIM?

Just frustrated. But holding onto the idea that LE is working this case, does have some idea of what might have happened, and have been holding things close to the vest on this one.

  • #255
and this is why, i might not post here for a bit, even. until some new info comes out.
because, the unknown is so mucho and the known is not being verified enough to my liking.

what direction was her accident at on salado? what direction on brown/roosevelt was her car left as? i wanna know what side her tires were popped, if alcohol was in her vehicle, even. i wanna know that stuff, because we dont have it and at least it would fill us in on certain movements of her.
why did the cops not instantly hit up her car w k9s.. where is surveillance footage? the complete 911 calls of accident reported?

the media hasn't gotten good interviews w ANY of the party people. and we dont know who they are, even

the police/ and sgtpooley know that the party and social media is key. its gonna be up to them, of course.

they wouldnt compromise the investigation and open up the private cell, emails, etc to the public. or names of people at party. or, show the surveillance cam at ampm.

so, we are left going over the same info and it makes less and less sense.

im gonna dissapear for bit, till more info comes out. cheers yall

I understand. I was just trying to make an outline of what we all seem to agree on that has come from verifiable sources e.g. media and LE. Is media considered verifiable. haha

It's okay for you to not agree. We are all just trying our best to share ideas.

Well Goblin. I hope my post didn't make you decide to disappear.

Maybe I should exit myself. I don't seem to be getting anywhere.

This is so agonizing.

*laying low now*

oh no - don't go y'all! I am just speaking from what I see on many threads around here. We might get locked into a scenario from what has been reported, only to find that what has been reported was not accurate, or was misleading, or that we (untrained professionals) might be interpretting things incorrectly. I was just venting frustration at the case, like others here. Brainstorming is super important and often helpful - just want to keep an open mind.

I left this thread for a while too, but could not stop thinking about Adrienne.

Your summary post of KNOW/DON'T KNOW will be very helpful to the new eyes that pop in here.

If we just got some new tidbit confirmed, that would be something. If this is all staged... well, that would just be awful on several levels.

I can't believe that there is no movement in the case (i.e., nothing in the news since June 29, and that coverage did not contain anything new).

  • #259
WOW! I had NO IDEA my "What we Know/What we DON'T KNOW" would be received this way. I am SOOOO sorry!

I was only trying to be helpful and many here have posted timelines and maps and photos etc that no one can prove or disprove either.

I promise I will not do it again.

I was ONLY trying to be HELPFUL and provide SOME information, with rebuttal, as to what we actually do feel we know and don't know since so many keep asking the same question over and over and over again.

I suppose I should have called it "What I think I Know" instead of "What we KNOW"

Again...so sorry for my ignorance!

I guess Newbies like me should only speak when spoken to.

:(

ummm, I thanked you and explained, and what I said was not a personal attack on you. No reason to leave or quit posting. This is about Adrienne.

It's so wonderful to see that so many people here care so much about Adrienne, they get their own emotions invested into things like this. :grouphug: :grouphug:

You guys and gals are all a cut above the rest, and I salute you (or I would if there was a smiley for that but since I didn't see one, I give you these:

:highfive: :sponge: :juanettes: )
