BBM, SBM - I have been trying very hard not to mention the cab driver since it's been said there's no official POI and even that LE has questioned him already, but this is where it all falls apart IF everything that we think we know is, in fact, accurate. The cab ride. And the fact that her phone hasn't been found. That phone turned off for a reason and it's missing for a reason, IMO.
What does BBM, SBM and ETA mean? I'm still so new here and I've never known what these mean. And btw, I agree with you.
I am not dragging the cab driver in yet, until LE does.
She may have needed something from the market and did not want the meter running while she went inside.
Who knows? Maybe they (LE) are all about the cab driver. But he sure placed himself in the crosshairs if he did it.
Yeah, maybe I'm all wrong about her calling a cab to meet her there. It could be this was a common practice for her. Maybe she wanted coffee or cigs. Yes, it could make sense after all I suppose.
Well, AFAIK, LE took their magnifying glasses out on him, doing DNA swabs etc., the full monty. Which is a good thing for him if he has nothing to do with it. Of course they have to consider him. Even if there is a record with the cab company that the pick up point was AM/PM, where there is surveillance, he could've spotted AS on her way to there, or she flagged him down, at around, say, 4:40, maybe even a few minutes sooner. AT MOST that would leave half an hour for something bad to happen before he shows up on surveillance at the AM/PM, does the phone trick to hide that he already met her and leaves.
It is very little time, it does not explain her leaving all her belongings at her apartment, and it would most certainly leave evidence in the cab.
Who knows? It's all speculation.
Why could she have left everything behind and changed clothes? The only halfway decent explanation apart from being drunk out of her mind would be the accident earlier - she was afraid of the cops. She knew someone saw her car, prolly got the license. She drops the car, but someone might have seen her walk away from it and give the cops a description; "jeans, polka dot blouse, was carrying a bag". She changes clothes, leaves the car keys and the bag - if the cops later track her down, she can claim it must've been someone at the party, using her clothes/bag/car, or they only find her way later when she's sober again. It would also explain why she wanted to be picked up at some other place than her apartment, because she thought the cops might show up any minute, and she wanted not to be there for a drug test.
The problem with this: it's pretty clever. If she really was drunk and needed to hide it, I'm not sure if she would've "disguised" herself so thoroughly. If she was drunk enough to drive erratically, hit the curb and being afraid of the cops, Im not sure if she would've been able to reason that much.
I'm buying more and more into your theory now. Things are beginning to look clearer. I truly do believe she was afraid of getting a DUI or worse. She was in flight mode.
PS...what does AFAIK mean?
Unless it was drugs other than alcohol, when brain is still sharp-ish but you don't want to be tested.
Exactly! But I still think her emotional charge was off the charts!
I agree. As I stated in the first thread, I do not think the cab driver is involved with her disappearance. I believe she was drunk and I also find it very likely that she was high (pot). Her instagram has images of a pipe....both when she got it and when it broke. I think she drank and smoked pot like half of her peers. I am not making any sort of judgement against her, I just feel that it's a reality that must be factored in.
I also agree that she fled the accident scene to avoid interacting with the police. Abandoned her car due to the flat tires....and snuck back to her apartment to change and get further away from the scene of the accident. If she was thinking about getting in trouble, she probably didn't want to go around telling everyone what happened, and didn't want to be around if the police showed up. So it would make sense to me that she call a cab after her bf didn't answer 11 calls in a row. And because I believe she didn't want to be around if the police showed up, it also makes sense to ask the cab to meet her at AM/PM, the closest gas station to her apartment. As far as leaving the wallet behind....This doesn't really stick out to me as that big of a deal. I mean it could be a clue, but I think it is just as likely that she chose to leave it. If she is going to be waiting around for a cab at an AM/PM, she probably doesn't want to carry a purse/wallet/overnight bag. It seems totally reasonable to me that she would just take cash in her pocket. The officer stated that nothing was missing, but would they really know if she had 20 bucks or so in cash on her?
Like I said before i do not believe the cab driver is involved. That is just my gut feeling.
I do find it odd that NO ONE noticed her come back to her apartment to change after the accident. Unless everyone was gone by say 4am. I think that is suspicious. I do think she would try to sneak in and out if she was worried the police might be looking for her, but it doesn't seem very likely in an apartment, after a party, with roommates.
Someone who was at her house that night knows the answers.
Okay...great reasoning and explanation. I'm pretty much on board with this now. It does make sense. It really does. I'm getting it now. I think.
IMO she left her keys at the apartment to avoid a ticket for DUI.
Very likely! It is becoming more and more apparent she was attempting to avoid arrest. Her adrenaline was probably sky high by then.
IMO, she avoided her roommates on purpose. She did not want to explain she crashed her car, or be talked out of seeing the BF. She was determined to get there at all costs. No one from her apartment did anything to her.
Hmmmm......yes I think you are right. I think she was being very secretive and hiding from them to avoid suspicion. This could have been due to being intoxicated or high or both and not thinking clearly, especially in her emotionally charged state of being.
So this leaves us with basically four options that I can think of:
1. She was walking to boyfriend's and somehow did fall into the lake.
2. She got into a car with someone she knew and trusted. (Huge mistake!)
3. She was suddenly snatched up by a stranger/strangers.
4. She took off for parts unknown (Mexico perhaps) by herself or with someone she knew.
I don't think anyone from the party took her. And I really don't think the cabdriver or the boyfriend or his girlfriend had anything to do with it either.
Bottom line the gut feeling I get is that she was suicidal or wanted to just vanish.
Sorry...I know this is a very unpopular theory but I can't help but put it back out there because that's where my mind keeps leading me.

Also, my apologies to all for this combined post but it's the only way I can not leave out posts I want to respond to without having a dozen or so posts in a row and I hate it when I do that.
