So, a violent murderer, who had just murdered a young twenty something year old brunette, was around the exact same area around the exact same time. Just can't let it go.

Me, too.

So just have the cab pick you up around the corner at an exact time which would be one minute from your apartment's front door, right?

I NEVER have a cab pick me up far from the front door of where I am----I'm funny like that. Why walk anywhere when you've just called a cab. It kinda' defeats the purpose, if ykwim????

The AMPM was quite a few blocks away.......

Maybe she was really hungry / thirsty/ had the munchies, or needed something asap from the store (tylenol? feminine product? cigarettes) and didn't want to wait in case the cab was delayed?

I agree but then if her stuff wasn't found in her car where they should been, red flag. If they were found along the road, possible where something bad could have happened.. Could have been a clue. Or if something happened at another house or car.. If they find her stuff at her apartment they would never know she was here.

Exactly. Replacing her items lessens the suspicion of foul play.

Good point, just trying to think of a reason to not have the cab pick her up at home.

She could have initially intended to just go from her car to the AMPM, but since it was taking 15 -20 minutes to get the call back from the cab I think she just decided to walk back home and maybe find a ride there?

Maybe even a guest from the party was driving back home from the party and saw AS in her car waiting to hear from cab or BF and offered her a ride/help?

Was the AMPM the closest "liquor store" in a sense?

Maybe she wanted the party atmosphere to continue on at the bf's house via some alcohol but just with the two of them to smoothen things out?

(Sorry I don't know about Tempe's liquor laws as I'm from 2 states that have the oddest liquor laws in the country....some cities are considered "dry" and some areas don't sell alcohol in convenience stores &/or on Sundays).

The closest liquor store is Tops liquor on University between ASH and hardy.

I think maybe she just wanted some water before heading up to Scottsdale or maybe even wanted to hit up an ATM in the AMPM for cab cash? But then it was taking so long she decided just to head back to her apartment and try to find a ride from a friend. IMO.

Tops liquor was the best place to get kegs when I was 19 and an ASU student. I had a fake. Stupid me.

True but I just thought of something-----even as young and naive as when I was 19, I would've had a party guest drive me to the AMPM to get whatever I wanted knowing a cab was going to take me to my bf at the previously arranged time.

So that puts me back at questioning who she was talking to at her house party after 4am???

Additionally, I wish we knew about certain aspects of AS character like:

If she were abducted would she be more likely to follow commands or would she most likely fight back?

She is responsible as Rick stated implicitly. I would think she might actually be the type that tries to think/manipulate her way through an abduction rather than act and fight.

Oh Adrienne, what did you do? We miss you and don't even know you. Your family loves and needs you. Stay strong. We are still looking and keeping your story alive promise!

so true.. times could have come from any number of places. the thing about cell phones is that (i think) most of them are automatically updated? also - i'm guessing most people her age would probably check times on their phones, so hopefully the times were all correct. luckily most of the times we have to go off of are documented, cell records, video times, so they can be checked for accuracy. the problem with the witness accounts of time (seeing her drive off at 3:40am) is you have to wonder how accurate they are. did they base it off of having looked at their phone at 3:35 and it seemed like 5 minutes later that they saw her leave? granted, this 3:40 time can kind of be backed up by the accident happening 4 minutes later approx. 4 minutes from her apartment. but hopefully you catch my drift!

ITA. And also, didn't the roommate first report that she left "after 3 am", iirc? So much for accurate times.

I'm new here but have reading cases here for a long time.
Maybe she wanted to get picked up at the AMPM instead of her apartment so her roommates didn't see the cab pick her up and start asking questions about her car. Just a thought.

Good point potatoes13! Welcome to the case!

I also think she didn't want to be seen by anyone at the party. Maybe she felt a bit embarrassed about all the "failures" of the night? Fight with bf, car crashed. Needed to get away from it all?

I don't think she talked to anyone. She snuck in, trying to avoid talking to the people there. For the same reason she asked to be picked up blocks away because she didn't want to hang out at the apartment and wait for the cab, or even its vicinity. moo

I agree. Remember how important it was to be cool in front of your peers at that age? I agree she was probably embarrassed and didn't want to be noticed even if she went back into the house. This doesn't mean however that she didn't talk to one person who noticed her slipping in and out IMO.

So after 4 am up until 5 am, AS is calling/texting bf and either arranging a ride to go to the AMPM from a party guest in her apartment or she is walking it herself.

There's no video surveillance along that very short period of time within a very small geographic region?

Where's the 13 or so others that were at the party and why haven't they been interviewed? Anyone paying special attention to AS at the party or anything that stands out?

Can her cellphone be pinged to the exact location?

Do we have any recording of her calling the cab company or at least an impression of her demeanor during that call by the cabbie?

Did AS leave a voicemail on bf's phone (32 attempted contacts/texts/voicemails) indicating she was bringing over items from AMPM?

Did AS talk to bf about anyone that creeped her out that night?

Is LE still investigating by questioning the partygoers some more?

Just speculating....

In my opinion I think that she was paranoid she was seen and was trying her best to distance herself away from her wrecked car. She may have walked home without calling any of her roommates, and snuck in her apartment so she could drop off anything that would associate her with hitting the curb. That way she could say that she wasn't driving her car, wasn't wearing those clothes and she didn't even have her keys with her if the police questioned her.

That is exactly what I think, as well as not wanting to deal with roommates' questions if she was coming back to apartment to change. She did not want a delay or any interference in getting over to BF. She may have intended to call her father to help her with the car the next day.

Cab_guy, you didn't get a chance to answer me yet from the last thread before it was locked, did police play a recording of Adrienne's voice for Tom so that he could tell them whether it was her voice or a different female's voice who called him from her cellphone that night?

Thanks!

Nope, they did not play any tape. Showed her picture to him many times, but he has never seen her in person, so that produced negative results--Cab Guy

Based on the timeline the police released in this article

http://www.azcentral.com/community/tempe/articles/20130724mystery-deepens-case-missing-tempe-woman.html

What I observe only: it is long I apologize
but I see red flags galore!!!
:) feel free to scroll on by but if anyone would like to discuss
this timeline please do!
2:30 am- AS asks bf to leave

AS goes with bf to continue the disagreement in another location
AS flees the 2nd location on foot.

bf gets her back in vehicle
AS flees vehicle again on foot
*** during a "Heated argument" -per police AND in a span of
less than 52 min AS has tried to get "away" from bf
a total of THREE times*** 2:30am- 3:22 am
bf finds her to give her her phone because she left it in the vehicle

3:22 am- bf calls her room mate to make sure she gets home ok.
3:22 am bf never sees AS again

3:30am AS states she is going back to bf
and is packing an overnight bag.
She is reportedly "calmy angry" by her room mate
3:35-3:40am- AS car is seen leaving by 2 people.
*** most people at the party don't recall seeing her after 2:30am

3:44 am- 911 caller AS car involved in a crash
AS car flees the scene the car is not returned to her
apartment but left on a street
nearby
4:10 am- 4:50 am 32 calls are made from AS phone to bf phone
all go unanswered -bf was asleep

4:23am cab co called by AS phone

4:43am text from AS phone to bf phone
"I'm coming over"
4:53am cab arrives

AS reports she will "be there in a min"

5:06am cab driver says no answer on cell.

*****************************************

She is on foot in Scotsdale "walking home"
after bf "left for a min" to return and find she was gone.
She is on foot at Rio Salado and Mill Avenue after exiting his vehicle.
Her car crashes at Rio Salado and Ash
Her car is dumped at Roosevelt and Mill Avenue -again she would be on foot.

Rio Salado has been used twice in this report of events.
She jumps out of bf car prior to 3:22am
22 min later her vehicle has a single car crash on the same road

Mill Avenue has also been used twice.
She exited the bf vehicle near this road and
just so happens her car is left on this road.

bf calls her room mate at 3:22am
he returns home and sleeps
car crash--- 32 calls to bf---
a 4:23 call to cab--- (who reports he is 20 min away)

a 4:43 text to bf "I'm coming over" *the exact time cab
was "expected"...

cab actually shows up at 4:53

10 min later.

so out of 32 calls to the bf phone...in 40 min the only txt that was sent said "I'm coming over"

Her cab has NOT even shown up and how does she KNOW she is on her way
at the ETA the cab driver gave?

THEN once the cab driver says hey where are you- be there in a min
the phone is "off"

The only red flag I see is Adrienne being out, alone, on foot, at 5:00am. Nothing good is going to happen.
