Well...if one of the parents is being looked as a suspect...that would kind of explain the lack of extensive searching...JMO

That's a thought, but it seems that the school board would have some sort of leniency for attendance under such circumstances.

And anyway, didn't Sergio say they were moving on, getting back to normal? Weren't the boys already back in school?

Mr. BDE served on our local Board of Education for nearly eight years (appointment and elected). A school board would have made exceptions for students' attendance during this stressful situation, but one parent would not have been favored over the other. There is something else going on in the Celis' situation. :moo:

Do we know which parent?

My sister (RIP) was heavily CPS involved. When she died her kids were 5, 13, and 18. All attending school. They were absent for weeks/months in one case as a result of legal issues (all 3 kids had different dads, only one marriage; no one stepped up for custody)... CPS arranged for school work to be sent home. I don't think keeping the boys out of school has anything to do with this. At all. JMO.

Did anyone notice this link I posted, it is notable wrt to the case of the three little girls from Hawaii, what caught my attention is that they have IDed some person at a gas station caught on camera and take note of what he is WEARING, green sleeveless shirt and dark shorts, in the article it says:

The girl told authorities the man was wearing dark shorts, a green sleeveless shirt and dark-colored glasses.

However he looks hispanic and doesnt have a crew cut or glasses like the sketch they put out, interesting nonetheless.

Regarding this CPS thing, I dont think I am prepared to read too much in to it yet wrt to this being some sort of clue that one of the parents are involved as it may be something as simple as Sergio and Becky having some problems in their marriage because of the stress of Isabel being gone, that happens with parents of missing children, and one of the parents may have decided to go live elsewhere and CPS has determined that the children are best off with the one remaining parent who is living in the home or wherever it is that parent is living.

Respectfully, with regard to the CPS decision, it is not a voluntary thing, not a situation where one parent just decided to live elsewhere.A safety plan is a legal document. It can be enforced if the parent(s) do not co-operate... JMO

I wonder if one of the boys came out with something that did not match a parent's story, and it took some time to check it out, etc...

Yes! ITA that something ain't kosher there.

Thank you for the info re: excused extended absences! I couldn't imagine CPS would become involved over something like that.

I don't believe CPS determines custody... even temporary. They are in the business of protecting minors from their parents or dangerous situations. Of course, as always, I could be wrong.

The fact that LE go public with the CPS development, IMO STRONGLY point to that a VERY serious development, in the Isabel Celis case, is on it's way.

Here's the latest:

Police: CPS has 'increased involvement' in Celis investigation

http://www.kvoa.com/news/police-cps-has-increased-involvement-in-celis-investigation/

:seeya: Thank You for this update ... interesting ...

snipped from above link :

Recently, detectives became aware of information regarding the welfare of the older Celis children. That information was shared with CPS for their consideration and determination relating to this investigation. Yesterday, CPS personnel responded to police headquarters to consult with detectives as well as the family. Subsequent to their assessment, CPS instituted certain measures to ensure the continued welfare of the Celis children.

BBM: Whoa ... JMO but there's "something going on" ...

JMO ... but I always felt there was something "hinky" with the Celis' "story" ...

What happened to Isabel ? ? ?

Every case I've followed, when the parents split, it gets reported to MSM & really is noted. Same when grandparents or custody changes for a child. With CPS stepping up their involvement & this public announcement that the boys have been placed with one parent it sounds as though it was mandatory after their interviews yesterday due to new information. Possibly one of the children, or the one parent with them now has said something.

Wonder if it's test results came back also? So many things at the moment...

My heart does hurt for the boys & the parent with them now. Isa needs to come home & something is moving towards finding her soon, I hope.
