Gotta love news reporting in Tucson. "Breaking News: DES: Celis children not in CPS custody"
KOLD.com banner.

ETA: ""The Department can confirm that CPS is working closely with law enforcement to ensure the continued safety of the children," said Tasya C. Peterson, DES Director of Communications. "At the present time, the children are not in CPS custody." (bold mine)

http://www.tucsonnewsnow.com/story/18325000/tpd-cps-involvement-with-celis-family-increases

I didnt expect the children to be in the custody of CPS.

These two boys have suffered a very traumatic event and so has the parents so it only makes sense they are helping the family and are probably think both the parents and the children need therapy to deal with all of this.

This doesnt come as some big shocker to me for them to be involved. CPS has been called in to assist other families in other cases especially if there are other children in the home that are having to deal with the shock of losing a sibling.

Now if the boys were taken from the parents that would be another matter but they havent been and imo, they wont be.

Becky did say that one of their sons was taken this hard so maybe they showed their sadness and depression when they returned to school and that is why CPS has stepped up their involvement. They could have simply broke down and cried hysterically at school or told the teacher that one of their parents cries all the time.

If they thought the parents were involved in Isa's disappearance they would have taken this opportunity to remove the children out of the home........they could have made up some reason to do so but they didnt remove them and that speaks volumes to me.

I think all the family is having a difficult time and I think the school noticed how hard the children are taking it and CPS thinks the family needs guidance.

IMO

Wow...not allowed ANY KIND of contact?

Was one parent telling the children what to say? Feeding them a story? So they can't even talk on the phone? What the heck??

None of that explains why one parent is not being allowed "any kind of contact."

:seeya: Thank You for this update ... interesting ...

snipped from above link :

Recently, detectives became aware of information regarding the welfare of the older Celis children. That information was shared with CPS for their consideration and determination relating to this investigation. Yesterday, CPS personnel responded to police headquarters to consult with detectives as well as the family. Subsequent to their assessment, CPS instituted certain measures to ensure the continued welfare of the Celis children.

BBM: Whoa ... JMO but there's "something going on" ...

JMO ... but I always felt there was something "hinky" with the Celis' "story" ...

What happened to Isabel ? ? ?

:moo::moo::moo:

Sounds pretty cut and dried to me.
They want to be assured that the continued welfare of the children will still exist.

Were any of Sergio's criminal charges (most were amazingly dismissed though) related to domestic violence? It stated in the first week that someone was removed from their residence in handcuffs the week that Isabel disappeared, but was any source ever attached to this rumor?

That's what I was wondering - maybe one of the boys who knew something has been told to lie by one of the parents.

I have to disagree, now that they have come out with the fact that one parent is not even allowed to contact the children...

The CPS thing is disturbing and unusual to me...if LE felt, unofficially, that the family was cleared yet couldn't say so publicly, I don't know if this would be happening. There has to be a reason...JMO

Were the Irwin's children involved with CPS after Lisa disappeared? Or other families? It doesn't seem so, but I can't recall. At this stage in the case, it is upsetting that LE cannot rule out the parents, even if just in some subtle way...

:seeya:

BBM: I agree ... there is a BIG REASON for this because IMO, LE could have told them to "back off" ...

As to the Irwin's, CPS was NOT involved ...

Maybe one made threats that they were going to kill themselves because of Isa being missing.

CPS's role is not to provide emotional guidance. CPS's role is to keep children SAFE within their families.

I am shocked, stunned.....boy oh boy was I wrong..........(happy family).....
I am reeling and sad also for Isabel. And her brothers. And angry too. I wear my heart on my sleeve too much .

No more need for scanner reports methinks.

Wow! My first thought was the parent who is not allowed contact is implicated in Isabel's disappearance. But it is also possible that one of the parents has had a breakdown of some kind because of the disappearance and is not allowed contact with the other children for that reason.

Maybe one made threats that they were going to kill themselves because of Isa being missing.

We will have to wait and see, I guess. But I don't think telephone contact, under supervision, would be prevented, if that was the case...this is saying NO contact of ANY kind...

IIRC Sergio's charges, outside of the animal control stuff the week before Isa disappeared are all much older than Becky's most recent set (and even hers are a dozen years old).

This has to be something new.

Not at all, Starry...she still needs to be found, no matter what is going on...I will try to listen later, and this weekend, if computer and WS cooperate...

cps is 'working closely with le'...
I am hoping there's a reason le doing what they have been/are for a reason. Releasing personal info on the family that apparently has nothing to do with the case to keep the public up-to-date on the case? Is that supposed to make sense?
I don't know if they are trying to throw suspicion on the family but my suspicions are with le and i really, really hate to feel that way.

Have you guys ever seen anything like this in a missing child case?

never!! !!

Child Protective Services’ primary objective is to keep children safely within their own families. CPS works cooperatively with parents to make that happen. Child Protective Services is a program that seeks to help families by strengthening the ability of parents, guardians or custodians to provide good care for their children. The program tries to balance the legal rights of parents and the needs and rights of children to live in a physically and emotionally healthful situation.

I wonder if LE/FBI's examination of one of the parents computers (my take; the fathers) have shown disturbing content ?
