What about a whole house fan? Those are noisy and they require windows to be open for them to work. They are installed in the ceiling and draw air from ground level, through the attic and out the attic vents...I think.

My sis had one in KS. It was kinda' noisy but not excessively so. After a while I did not even notice it.

It wouldn't show from the outside.
Do they use those in Tuscon?

The only place I've seen attic fans used are in the midwest. One house I lived in years ago in northeastern Oklahoma had an attic fan. They are about as noisy as a swamp cooler I suppose.

Down here in the southwestern desert, I have not seen them used anywhere where I live. I am in southern NM and here we used refrigerated window units, a/c units (either on the ground or on the roof), and swamp coolers (in windows or on the roof). It gets so darn hot here without the refrigeration of the a/c or the cooling of the air in the swamp cooler, I just don't see how anyone would use an attic fan. This time of year though, many that don't have the refrigerated a/c units do open windows and use fans at night to save on energy costs.

I've been following this story. I can't stay away and i can't stop thinking about Isabel. She is so adorable and looks like such a sweet little girl.
Life is so cruel sometimes.
Why do bad things have to happen????? Especially to good people? :(
I pray so bad that she is found alive and safe and unhurt. :(
I can't even imagine where she is.

(I just have to say something though. I DO think that sometimes people get caught up in their own "rules" or how they "think" things should be. In my opinion, life doesn't have to be so "strict" or "this way or that way".
If my kids are up really late sometimes, and they sleep till noon somtimes, does that make me a horrible mother?? I don't think it does, but sometimes reading people's comments on here makes me feel that way for sure! :( I'm just saying how i feel....definately not trying to start anything.
Also....if my kids have no school or nothing to do for the day and we are just hanging out at home on a rainy day playing video games and watching tv and they have "comfortable clothes" on all day.....like athletic shorts and a t-shirt, is it horrible that they go to sleep in those close later that day? Does that make me a bad mother too? It's like having a "jammie day" Whod doesn't do that sometimes? But sometimes it feels like we're all so jaded on here that we become judgmental about these little details when really we're just relaxing a little bit in our lives. Does anyone agree? I would hate to be judged or looked suspiciously at for things like that. I don't understand it. And i also think it's ok to skip a shower once in a while. It's not the end of the world or bad parenting. Again, that's just my opinion lol. Ok i'm done. Sorry....i don't usually say much.....It could be the pain meds i'm on, but i'm just feeling really sensitve tonight about a lot of stuff.)

Please Isabel......come home to your family. So many of us don't even know you love you to pieces. I can't imagine how your family feels. <3 Big hugs to you tonight baby girl.....and to your mommy and daddy and big brothers. <3

I agree with Tainted Angel, even with a/c, at night it is very common to turn off the units, open windows and use ceiling fans.

Did we have an 8:00 pm update? Anything new if so?

Was this posted yet?

The search for Celis intensified after two FBI search dogs hit upon something in the Celis family home overnight. Villasenor noted that there was a cadavaer dog and a scent dog used in the search.

"We have information we obtained from the dogs that has necessitated more follow-up investigation," Tucson Police Chief Roberto Villasenor said today.

Police evacuated the Celis family from their home today following the dog search, which involved one cadaver dog and one scent-following dog, Villasenor said. They are treating the house as a crime scene.

I see pics of Isa with a little dog, and found other information that they had dogs. I wonder if the dogs barked.

Not on KVOA unless it was really quick...they've had test patterns up since I remembered to check at 8:10...

This is from #1 thread about the dogs. I just love that picture of Isabel and her little white dog.

"According to the court documents, allegedly two out of three dogs owned by the family got out into the neighborhood. There were two charges of dog running at large, three each of no current license and no current registration. The incident happened on Friday April 13th, a full eight days before Isabel came up missing."

I wonder if they had a cranky neighbor that didn't like their dogs getting loose? Didn't like anything about them.

It'd be way too easy to lure Isabel outside to find her dog. MOO

Somebody could have left the gate open while peeping in windows...and the dogs got out.

Friday...

After work?

Does it say a time of day? (Ct. Doc's)

Maybe a failed attempt to abduct her at that time?
TIA

I understand and I can honestly say that I have done everything you have listed above more than once :)

My 5 year old twin boys have recently started asking to sleep in their clothes instead of changing into PJ's. They ask to do it about 3 times a week. This momma right here chooses her battles, and it's less laundry to do, too! :blushing:

They will stop wanting to do it soon enough and probably move onto to something else!

I don't think that makes you, or me or anyone else here bad parents!

I'm from the land of ice and snow so my knowledge of air conditioners is very limited.

Did anyone hear what Nancy Grace said about the air conditioner during tonight's show? I heard her say "air conditioner" but unfortunately I didn't catch what she said about it and I don't think the transcript will be available until tomorrow. TIA

I think the bedtime is not revelent. What is revelent, is the last time her parents saw her, which was 11:00pm. Our opinions on bedtime do not matter, just the facts of the last time she was seen.

MOO

Helloooooooooo, Sarx! What do you think it means that the FBI brought in a scent dog and a cadaver dog and CNN posted that TWO dogs "hit" on something. I know what the cadaver dog would hit on, but what do you think the scent dog "hit" on? Illegal drugs?

Why bring a scent dog into her house? I understand why a scent dog would be used to track in the neighborhood, but clearly, Isabel would have scent in her own home.
