Found Deceased AZ - Janet Castrejon, 44, Chiricahua National Monument, 19 June 2015

PLEASE don't take this the wrong way, but if her family wished to have her gone, they would not have waited so many years. The poor girl sustained her injuries when she was 18. There is no indication that her family has done anything other than care for her until this happened.

Maybe I am naive, but I really think this is an accident. A horrible, horrible, accident.

BTW the story changing - IDK, I've only been here a couple of years, and I've seen a lot of reporting getting stories mixed up, especialy in the initial stage. The rush to be first often leads to misleading info IMO.

You're probably right, but you just never know! Look at the recent case of Gypsy Blancharde - you could barely make up that stuff!
Maybe her parents were worried about who would take care of her, as they're getting on in age. Maybe her blindness and brain damage were getting worse. Who even knows?

There's a lot working against her to make her a likely candidate for getting lost, but I have a weird feeling about this one.

Wow! I just spent the last hour and a half reading the Gypsy Blancharde threads through from beginning to end. "You could barely make up that stuff !" is practically an understatement!!!

Hoping Janet is found safe and soon!

I honestly think she got lost and is lying somewhere, sadly, deceased.

But the two stories put out there are so radically different. That's what stands out to me. And the request for money when there's little else given out. I just find the whole thing fishy. No updates. No 'here and here and here are where we've looked'. Nothing of substance I guess.

Maybe it's just me and my untrust nature, but my honky meter is allover the place on this one.
Like I said, I do hope I'm wrong. But there's something I can't shake, can't explain it. Their story just doesn't make sense. Even though it does.
If she does function at a 5 year old level (I've read anywhere from 5 to 14), I would never let my 5 year old go off by themselves at a camping park. If she is as incapacitated as they say, they acted irresponsible. Again, all my opinion. I have a 4 1/2 year old and we love going camping, that little boy is practically crazy glued to me while at the park or anywhere for that matter. But maybe it's just my crazy distrustful nature.
All my opinion 😊

I hear you all, I do. I'm probably guilty of hoping for the best IYKWIM. My hinky meter didn't spark in this case, but I've been wrong as many times as right.

Either way, I feel for Janet and I want her found.

I think I probably want her to have had an accident, rather than the unutterable horror of other scenarios.

I agree with you. An accident sadly, could be the silver lining in the other posibilities.
How far was the camper from the bathrooms? Did anyone else see Janet? Was the area they were at for overnight campers or were there vehicles for the daily visits?

There are 3 of them....left outside while the mother used the restroom....out walking with the parents and she headed back ALONE....out hiking with the brother and he 'lost' her....I'm with you HMMMMM. Is it possible each thought she was with the other, hence no one knows where she went?

I mean really how many versions of this story are there?

After searching the area and talking with other campers for some time, the parents grew increasingly worried as night fell and contacted their son. He, in turn, called the police.

Id like to know when the last time someone other than her parents SAW her.

Gave me a chuckle too. I was still laughing when I read your post. It keeps us from going crazy.

http://www.nbcnews.com/feature/miss...disappears-during-family-camping-trip-n383896

"Please, for my daughter, if you saw something at all, come forward. We're worried because of the fact she cannot see and people may not believe her. People may assume she's acting when she cannot remember something. Whoever has her will soon realize this and we don't know what they will do. She needs help now."

I'm just not getting any *honky* vibes. I think she has had an accident. The family seem to be sick with worry.

Search for missing Cochise Co. woman expands into Mexico
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The search for Janet Castrejon, the missing 44-year-old woman with the mental capacity of a child, has expanded into Mexico.

Castrejon was last seen 11 days ago on June 19. She was camping with her parents in the Chiricahua Mountains in southeast Arizona.

Since her disappearance, family members have reached out to several news outlets as well as the Mexican Consulate in the event Castrejon was picked up by smugglers and taken into Mexico.

The link above says dogs didn't find her scent. How is that possible? When was she last seen?
And kidnapping her would be more trouble and heat that smugglers need.
Such a weird case. I still think there's something weird here.
