So now she's an appelate lawyer too??In his response to her motion for a retrial the judge reminded Lori in a few places that she had herself to blame for failing to do things during/after the trial that probably any lawyer would. He shot down her complaint about Karl, saying that he only had media appearances to take into account in which Karl overwhelmingly denied knowing about her past conviction before deliberation. Her claim that Karl was leaning towards not guilty during deliberations was also used against her. Lori might find soon enough that representing herself wasn't a good idea.
From this link:Lori Daybell motions to qualify Judge Beresky ahead of murder conspiracy trial. She claims he has violated code of judicial conduct, manifesting bias and can’t be impartial on her case. She also says the speedy trial rule has been violated.

LinkDaybell also mentions religion, bringing up his comment “I guess to the extreme that you are comparing yourself to these biblical figures I will allow it.” She says media networks aired this “malicious act by Judge Beresky”, discriminating against her religious beliefs.

I think I saw this on Justin’s FB post. But didn’t the Judge say to the “extent” not the “extreme” ??? While I personally feel that both apply, saying the “extreme” might be taken a little snarkier than to the “extent”Daybell also mentions religion, bringing up his comment “I guess to the extreme that you are comparing yourself to these biblical figures I will allow it.” She says media networks aired this “malicious act by Judge Beresky”, discriminating against her religious beliefs.
