Very low resolution of LVD today, but you can still hear the manipulation. moo

"I'm sick."

Oh, OK.

She sounds like someone faking a cold.

"I probably have a fever."

"I'm very ill."

Who says that?

Sick with an imaginary illness with generic symptoms, including an inexplicable inability to walk.

Guessing she has a case of WebMD.

LD already knows she will be sick on Wednesday. How prophetic.

I think LD didn't get her homework done.... wants another week to write her opening  lies statement.

It's a way to control the Court. I hope he orders her to the sick bay to show she has only a case of bad acting.

Judge: So what symptoms are you having? (he sounded annoyed.)

WATCH: #LoriVallowDaybell speaking in a low, sickly voice. "I'm sick, your honor. I've been sick all weekend..." Judge: Sometimes we have to proceed when we feel under the weather. (The judge didn't sound like he believed her)

WATCH: #LoriVallowDaybell whining/crying and the judge's restrained, sarcastic comebacks: :

LD claims the transport team felt so bad for her, dragging her out of bed. No, LD. They likely didn't believe you either, they just had an assigned job to do.

Doesn't sound like the jail staff thought she was actually sick either.

Theatre of one.

To be fair to LD (and I’m never fair to serial killers), I’ve come back from the US with the most horrendous cough/cold/flu bug. I’m lucky that I have free access to medication, LD perhaps not.

So why just not tell the court yesterday that she would be too ill to attend today (like the judge told her to). Did any of the jury see her today?

ETA so it seems the court was informed that LD was ill, but the judge still wanted her there and will do the same again Wednesday. Wouldn’t it be better for the judge to mandate the jail to test LD for a communicable disease and the. Depending on the result have her come to court or not? Just seems to be wasting everyone’s time.

She said that she told her standby attorneys yesterday that she was still ill. It seems the judge wasn't convinced, so he ordered she be brought to court.

I think no. She refused to vacate her  acting wheel chair so the judge had to speak to the jury without any attorneys (or defendant acting as her own attorney) present. The jail issued wheelchair would be too prejudicial.

And also told the judge that she didn't have any records "with her" (to show she'd put in for treatment). Couldn't produce any course of treatment, just her self-professed inability to keep much down, living on broth and oranges. Hasn't been moved to any infirmary. She says that's because she's already segregated. LD has an answer for everything.

Setting up for a motion for delay of trial, a violation of her right to a speedy trial. Brought on by her own illness, as yet verified.

Wheelchair? Really? Leg covid?

We need to start having a "Post of the Day" on Websleuths. This would win.

I feel for the judge. He has been soooo patient with all of her drama and "exceptionalism." Her refusal to sit in a real chair today really took the cake. I hope he gets a nice, long vacation after this trial.

LVD is a narcissist with a complete self focus - no question whatsoever. In general, I see no benefit to ever cater to her whims. And I think the judge is very aware that LVD - in general, and in her similarity to how prisoners can be - could be faking or just lazy and not wanting to participate.

However --- people do get sick. And when you're sick, with things like ongoing nausea and what comes with it, you feel like total crap and can't really navigate life until you get well.

The judge didn't take her word for it, and hauled her into court to check it out. But to be fair, he shouldn't act like he wasn't told, or that LVD getting sick isn't possible. Oddly, she's human - very much so in every way, even if she at times tells herself otherwise.

To be honest, if I was nauseous and weak, I have to admit I would be saying and doing almost the exact same things that LVD is saying and doing. I wouldn't want to be dragged somewhere to prove I'm sick (making me feel even worse). I wouldn't want to engage with others. I would be aware I didn't choose to be sick and just want to be allowed to recuperate. There is NOTHING in what she's asking that's any different than anyone else.

In general, I don't want to side with LVD because of her life choices, but when someone is truly sick (which is very possible here, who knows) then we need to treat them as we would want to be treated. It may be inconvenient to the court for a defendant to get sick, but it's not something they can choose, and if it happens, be fair and considerate, and circle back to the trial when the sickness has passed.

Just my 2c.

Nothing sounds better than beef broth infused orange sections. Yummy on the tummy 🤢🤮

This is just a speculation off the top of my head regarding the Judge insisting that the Defendant ( who also acting as her own Attorney) be present in Court.

Could it be that the Judge wants any all actions ( statements made, motions and rulings etc) to be On the Record?

I remember Leticia Stauch tried to not attend her own pretrial hearings by saying she didn’t feel well and that the jail had withheld her meds, etc. That Judge made her attend by Zoom call once and then he ordered that he would have the Sheriff’s Department use any and all means necessary including physically to bring her butt to the Courtroom.

I believe it was to ensure that all parties were recorded by the Court Reporter for an official record.

Just a thought.. I could be way off here lol.

I had to laugh at LVD telling the Judge he was welcome to drop by her cell and see how sick she is. I love that he said “ I’ll pass “.
