She would probably have to plead the fifth. She did testify in Chad's trial, but it's unknown whether she has an immunity deal.

In the state's opening, TK implied that Melani was feeding Brandon's whereabouts to Alex/Lori on that morning, when he dropped off the kids to her. That she is not charged could be that they don't have anything definitive that shows that when she did give information to them that she knew what they were going to do with it. It's clear that LD knew what Alex would do, but maybe not so for Melani.

LD did bring Melani up in the opening, kind of throwing her under the bus even, calling her a co-conspirator. She could call Melani to the stand if she puts on a case, if she can simply manage to tell the judge why she would be relevant. Melani has lots of obvious relevance, but LD is not very bright. I mean all you got to say is that Melani knew about Lori and Brandon's relationship. Or even about whether she gave the address to LD. But she couldn't think of anything in an earlier hearing when asked.

I'm on the fence if Melani knew or didn't know AC & LD's plan to eliminate BB.
I only question the timing because the children where with BB when AC tried to kill him.

11 a.m. Lori just argued that if they bring in character, then she gets a 404 B hearing. Judge told pointed at Lori and said, “STOP!” Lori begins to argue with judge and tells deputy to take her out and says he doesn’t need to yell at her. He says he is not yelling at her. She begins to argue and says, “Take her out! Take her out!” Lori is removed from the courtroom.

10:58 a.m. Judge says during the sidebar, he cautioned the defendant to be very careful because she’s going into places that she shouldn’t. Judge also says he warned her about saying statements like she’s a good person because she opens the door to bringing in prior convictions, etc. Treena says character evidence could come into play with this trial if Lori continues this.

I mostly read updates, too. However, when I read about her outburst I had to watch the video. Since it’s tape delayed, I caught the last part of her cross of Brandon. She is so incredibly condescending and rude to him. Oh, and her cadence and tone are nails on a chalkboard!
