Read from bottom up

Lori’s cross examination of Detective Pillar this morning:

11:14 a.m.
- Lori tries to ask questions about Melani seeking help from Detective Pillar. He says it was a custody issue and he referred her to an attorney. The state objects to other questions for relevance. The judge sustains. Lori says she's done with questioning. Both sides go into another sidebar.
11:07 a.m. - Lori continues asking about evidence taken in the investigation. Pillar says they collected a cigarette butt. He says a neighbor thought it stood out because he didn't smoke.
Lori asks whether it was ever tested for DNA. Pillar says it wasn't. Lori asks why it was collected then. He says a neighbor thought they should take it. Pillar says he didn't think it was involved in this investigation.
11:05 a.m. - Lori's adult son Colby Ryan appears to have just entered the courtroom. He sat in on parts of her last trial in Arizona, too.
11:01 a.m. - Lori tries to have Detective Pillar look at another page in his affidavit. The state calls for another sidebar.
10:54 a.m. - Lori goes back to the Jeep color again. She asks him about something written in his affidavit about the Jeep color stating that a neighbor saw a gray Jeep. He testifies that he had already confirmed at that time they were looking for a gray Jeep in their investigation.
10:46 a.m. - Lori asks Detective Pillar on why they didn't keep the Tesla impounded. She asks how her expert is supposed to perform tests on the Tesla or how her team would be able to test trajectory.
He says they did not keep the vehicle in this case for a few reasons: there was no decedent, meaning Brandon Boudreaux didn't die, and it was his only vehicle.
He says they weren't able to test for trajectory. He says they didn't have a gun or full bullet to test, they only had fragments.
10:42 a.m. - Lori shifts to ask about the Tesla. Detective Pillar testifies that he drove it to be processed. He believes it was returned to Brandon Boudreaux the following day.
10:36 a.m. - Lori asks if he looked at all possibilities of what happened that day. She asks if he disregarded the information in the investigation. The state objects and the sides go into a sidebar.
10:34 a.m. - Detective Pillar scans the document and says it appears consistent with parts of the investigation, but could not testify to the specific document. He says he had multiple investigations ongoing at the time.
10:33 a.m.- One of Lori's advisory councilors brings up a paper for Detective Pillar to review. He says it looks like a word document and can't specifically testify to whether it was an attachment sent by Brandon. The timeframe in question appears to be February 2020.
10:31 a.m. - Lori shifts to asking about screen shots that might have been sent from Brandon to Detective Pillar. She asks whether Melani gave a theory of what she thinks happened on the screen shots. The state objects and Lori argues she just wants to know what he knows.
10:29 a.m. - Lori starts to ask about emails, trying to reference a document she brought up on cross-examination with Brandon Boudreaux. The state objects and the sides go into a sidebar with the judge.
After sidebar, Lori goes up and asks whether Pillar asked Brandon Boudreaux to send financial information about his ex Melani. He says he did and that Brandon sent information.
10:24 a.m. - Lori asks how often Detective Pillar talked with Brandon Boudreaux over the past five and a half years. The state objects. The judge allows him to answer. He testifies that they primarily communicated over the phone, sometimes emails.
10:22 a.m. - Lori asks again about Jeep color and the VIN number. Pillar testifies that he learned the Jeep was gray after consulting with the Chandler Police Department who had photos of the Jeep from their July investigation.
10:17 a.m. - Lori asks about whether Detective Pillar ever talked with her niece, Melani. He says he interviewed her on October 3, 2019 for about an hour. He confirms she would follow up with him regarding a custodial issue.
10:16 a.m. - The jury is seated. Lori continues her cross-examination of Gilbert PD Detective Ryan Pillar, the case agent on this investigation.

Ugh. Did CD pat LD on the backside at the tail end of that video?

I'm going to starve to death. #DinnerRuined

And remember, this all happened just a few days after they killed little JJ…

The jury learned today that Melani visited Lori in Rexburg just days before the shooting, but also that she lived there next to Lori later on. They must be asking themselves as well if both Melani and Chad were part of the murder conspiracy.

If I was on the jury and was confused and undecided about what happened up to this point, Det. Hermosillo's testimony here would clear it up for me.

Did LD think nobody could find her in Rexburg if she stayed at her brother's unit instead of her own, when both were at the same apartment complex?

"using any means necessary to include force to secure the attendance of the Defendant for her trial"

Sounds like maybe the defendant may have been balking about appearing yesterday?
I was so looking forward to a Hannibal Lecter entrance into the courtroom. I can visualize LV strapped to a dolly with a mask on..

He's probably one of the few people she's afraid of. She had no questions for him, further legitimizing his testimony.
