I find it interesting that when MCSO retraced Brown’s route last week, they found “multiple” items belonging to the victims.

This case reminds me of another tragedy in Devil's Den State Park, AR.
Senseless murders of the couple on the trail by a stranger.

Interesting. So their bodies were not found near their vehicle. But the gloves were and Brown’s dna was found in the vehicle. Then the victims’ belongings (what? clothing, phones, a water bottle, who knows?) were presumably removed either from where their bodies were or from the car and discarded near to where he camped. That seems like an awful lot of back and forth to different sites.

According the press conference linked above, LE said TB's wife left their campsite the morning of the 25th, the same morning that the victims arrived.

Later on the 25th, he'd been seen around the area and was described as acting strangely, by another group that arrived later that day.

IMO, once his wife left - and being without internet access - he wouldn't have anything much to do. He apparently flew a drone for a while. Just my speculation, but what if that revealed there wasn't anyone else around except the victims - and he watched them with the drone. And he might just have been one of those guys who'd always fantasized about killing someone - or a couple....

Perhaps, after he'd murdered the victims, he wanted to go through their stuff, see what he'd find, prolonge the experience of violation...

ETA or maybe he was planning to move the victims and/or their vehicle.

But then, what if a new set of campers arrived and saw him, perhaps near the victims car or something? So that might be why he decided to reveal his presence there to LE and act all innocent and helpful. ETA, also, his wife knew he'd been there.

It sounds to me, all the campers left their vehicles on the side of the road and hiked up with their gear to a viewpoint for their actual tent site.

Did he have an argument with wife?
Is that why she left?

His "behaving strangely" is interesting.
In fact,
he was behaving this way after arrest as was reported (sitting in the cell).
His mugshot looks scary IMO.

He reminds me of another accused I mentioned earlier - the suspect teacher from Devil's Den State Park.
The same empty stare and weird face expression.

🤔

I kind of hope that killing people, and getting caught, is a strange experience for perps, that they have trouble behaving normally.

I know that's not how it's portrayed in fiction, but that's what makes it fiction.

Same, I gave up! Can someone summarise?

It’s interesting, he seemed really quite normal with his wedding photos and all the photos of him with his wife and dog. And then in between, quite unhinged.
Just for the record, when you say "unhinged" are you just talking about political posts you don't agree with or something else?

I didn't get all the way back to May, but the posts (he did post a lot) I saw looked like a pretty milquetoast batch of criticism of our current administration's figures/policies... Russia's war on Ukraine... animal adoptions... video games... with the occasional random post about family stuff. I didn't see any calls for, or glorification of violence (revolt). Didn't see anything hate-related. Didn't see anything just off-the-wall weird (voices in the head stuff).

Did I miss something?

Based on what I see... I'd lean more towards some kind of high-functioning psychopath. To seemingly do something so awful, random - yet otherwise appear a person with a normal life, social, etc.. - that's the stuff of horror movies.

Thanks everyone for the updates !!
Wondering about motive.
Haven't heard if the victims were abused/robbed/etc. by TB prior to their murder.
It sounds like he sneaked up on them with the teens being totally unaware ??
Hope whatever happened was quick !

Their poor families and friends.
Pandora and Evan's bright lights and smiles will not be forgotten.

Though an arrest has been made and there’s some form of closure, the pain of Pandora Kjolsrud and Clark’s murders is still intolerable for their grieving mothers.

“All of life’s beauty feels less bright without her here,” Simone Kjolsrud said.
“He was the light of my life. He was my world,” Sweeney said.

Both parents say the darkness of the high schoolers’ murders will not overshadow the light and joy they brought to the world.
Sweeney also shared empathy for the suspect’s family, saying: “There are people who love this man, and I am sure he suffers from some issues.”
Rbm.
How absolutely kind of Evan's mother. 😢

My utmost condolences to both families.
Imo.

When I say unhinged, I mean obsessive and repetitive in a way and at a volume that indicates a deep preoccupation with certain issues. He seems deeply stressed and also the things he is re-posting are very fake news/clickbait-y.

Politically, I actually agree with the sentiment. But thinking about myself in comparison, I’m not on Facebook re-posting 10 not particularly well sourced political posts a day because I have a job and hobbies and other outlets for political action. Looking at his posts, I get the feeling of someone who is spending a lot of time trolling through social media, feeling angry and anxious in a way that isn’t having a healthy outlet, and shouting out into an empty room. He isn’t seeming to engage with friends and family. It’s just constant re-posting of stuff that makes me feel like he was quite distressed and emotions were building and simmering. It feels like the social media of someone in a pressure cooker and then it exploded. JMO
