Keep in mind that Sylar was small and not very heavy and would be in the stage he was found.

I suppose it is way too early to speculate until they get the forensics in.....but this really could go anyway couldnt it....the family may have told the truth and he wandered off or he was put into the creek.....we'll see...

but for now RIP poor baby boy who has had quite a sad life, sometimes life seems so unfair!

Is there a creek bed near the campsite? If so, how far is it from the campsite to said creek bed? Given the rough terrain there, would little Sylar have been able to traverse well enough to reach that creek bed? If there is a creek bed nearby, was it dry when he went missing?

I hope they still can find out the cause of death. I think LE knows alot more then they have let on so hopefully there will be a presser soon and we will get some answers.

At least he was found and is not another child seemingly vanished into an abyss. I do hope they can determine cause of death and I hope it is not exposure...that would be both sad and horrible, as I am among those who felt there was definite guilt here.

I am anger and sad! Why wasn't he found during the intense search, why, why, why did this baby have to lay in that wash for weeks! Damnit why!

Remains found in Arizona believed to be missing 2-year-old

The remains were found Tuesday afternoon at the bottom of a wash less than two miles from the campground, the sheriff's office said. The office said the remains "likely came to rest in this area due to recent flash flooding."
"At this time, the remains are believed to be that of Sylar Newton, but final confirmation is still pending," the sheriff's office said.

Could the state of the body as "skeletonized" have something to do with animals in the area? (I'm thinking not large predators but more like small scavengers- mice etc?)

we have large raptors here too - turkey buzzards, hawks, crows too and coyotes.....not a nice topic but very real

Certainly. The heat, the water pressure, the coyotes and variety of other creatures, absolutely.

JMHO-Sylar deserved so much better than this. I don't understand handing your child over to just anyone when there are loving, caring families without criminal records or a history of drug use waiting for babies just like Sylar. There are even families that would allow the biological mother to still see and have a relationship with the child. If I couldn't be there for my children, I would only want the best in my place. This just sickens me and makes me so angry that his death could of been so easily prevented if he was just in the right hands. :furious:

I am stunned. I just didnt expect him to be found there or near there Now I wonder if all the searchers missed him . I did not judge the SAR 's when Emmitt was missed this has cast doubts. Very big ones. Emmitt one mile from location of last seen and sylar 2 miles. Those are in search areas and a dog should have picked up scents for both of the children or their bodies.
I hope they understand they need to offer the public and explaination and release info because they need to assure the community there that either they are going to improve SAR'S training or that there has been a crime and that Sylars body was not overlooked.

This post is posted by me in my shock I may look back and believe I was unreasonable in expecting and explaination.

If he was put in a car and transported to a location, even within a mile or two, this would greatly impact the abilities of most dogs. Even being carried could have an impact on the dogs ability to follow his trail. There are a few who can car trail, but this takes specific training and then results are going to be greatly dependent on external factors.
Searching a two mile radius in wild terrain is not the same as searching 2 miles down a street. I'm not defending them, but without knowing the details and seeing the logs and the POD that they were working on I hate to judge too quickly. Searching even a 2 square mile area is searching almost 1300 acres or almost 56,000,000 feet. It's a lot more ground to cover than it seems.
