Actually we do know more... both his grandparents and most likely his stepmom says the boy was capable of the murders. Really that says a lot.

I disagree. We know that an officer said that the grandmother and grandfather spoke those words, but we really have no frame of reference, and won't until the grandmother is on the stand. As to the stepmother, we cannot say that "most likely his stepmom says the boy was capable." As far as I know, NONE of her interview has been publicized, nor has she spoken out. We can speculate, and that's about it for now.

Have we decided if we were going to start that thread or forum on just the facts yet?So I can go there.I do think that would be a great idea.:)

I'd like to see a thread for that & other things, but since we are still in the Crimes in the News Forum, rather than one for just this case, it would probably be hard to manage several threads. If we get a forum, then we can start several topical threads. imo

We do know, though, that Chief Melneck himself is quoted as having made the reference. He was either already grasping at everything to point fingers to the boy, or it was part of his conversation with the grandmothe, even if it was hearsay at the time.

Agree with you, SoobsinMI. Totally agree with your post. BTW, does anyone know Tiffany Romero's maiden name? I tried to research and could not find a thing. Simply for research reasons that I am wanting to know. Thanks to anyone care share. :)

I have a question. I know very little about the weapons issue. But the father at least was shot in a hallway, which would mean the shooter would be rather close. And some of Romereo's shots were close. Given that this was a low velocity weapon, how much blowback would you expect from the shots? Would there be enough that you would expect some blood to be on the boy's clothing?

.

Of course, I would not put my family at risk...but what happens when one is born to you? Do you walk away such as the parents in Nebraska recently?

Yes, especially if you have other children in the home. i

Gitana1,

Do you think there is a possibility that this boy suffers from an Attachment Disorder. His mother left him when he was 2 years old.

It seems from the literature that makes the child devoid of feelings and no matter what, may feel they are unloved and are unattached to others.

http://www.focusas.com/Attachment.html

Excerpt:

Specifically if a child experiences any of the following in the first three years of life, that child is at risk for Attachment Disorder:

Drug or alcohol use by mother during pregnancy

Unwanted pregnancy

Caring for the infant on a timed schedule, or other self-centered parenting

Sudden abandonment or separation from mother (death of mother, illness of mother or child, or adoption)

Physical abuse, sexual abuse, or emotional abuse

Neglect of physical or emotional needs

Several family moves and/or daycare or foster placements

Inconsistent/inadequate care or daycare

Unprepared mothers, poor parenting skills, inconsistent responses to child

Mothers with depression

Undiagnosed or painful illnesses (ear infections, colic, surgery)

RAD children usually show all sorts of abnormal behaviors that are blatantly obvious, imo. It's extremely common among domestic foster children and children adopted from overseas.

The (most local) newspaper won't allow access to the wedding announcement.
If you go to the site, enter the dad's name and town, then click on TERMS, see what happens.

There wouldn't be any from a .22.
Unless the shot was into an open, very bloody, deep wound. Into a hardhat, or human flesh covered with heavy clothing there would be none.

Sorry. If the link below doesn't work for you go to the White Mountain News web site (wmicentral.com) and follow the links. You may have to go to their search, and type in marriage announcements. Then archives, etc.. For some reason the link below doesn't post in full length. It may be a local conspiracy. The Apache County Tax Accessor seems to have blocked the crime scene address, as well as the whole street, from their web site.
Tiffany Romero's maiden name is not to be found.
Come on websleuths, we can find it!...... Maybe not.

Tried again and "no results". Thanks again, Shock. I didn't think it would be so difficult to find a maiden name of a person just recently married. To be honest, I am surprised how quickly many articles go *poof* in that part of the country! What's up with that??? LOL!

Oh well, maybe there wasn't a requested announcement published by the bride and groom because Mr. Romero was divorced and his Church frowns on that. Don't know, just wondering.
That doesn't explain the site address omission by Apache County. I also looked at the Church website, but it has expired.
Seems like the Twilight Zone. But it's understandable in a close community I guess.

Oridinary, I would go w/ Tiffany Duvall as a maiden name. On the county website link in one of the docs, they list someone with that name as a victim of the case, it was on a witness list for LE or prosecution, I remember it stood out to me that they had the same description of her as they did VR's mom and dad, victim, that would leave me to believe she was the wife....and off to research I went lol...good luck...
It's on the states disclosure doc, page 2

meaning I didn't have much (luck) even with the maiden name. IIRC all I could find was a traffic ticket....hopefully you can do better, please let me know if you do....

Well! Aren't you the smart one. I've been pushing buttons for an hour while the answer was on a paper on my desk!
The witness list does, indeed, list Tiffany Duvall, victim c/o SJPD St. Johns AZ. There is no one on the list by the name of Tiffany Romero.
This thing gets stranger by the minute. Why would they refer to her as a Duvall? They were married, I reckon, cause the wedding photos are on the web.

Thanks.

IMOO, not near the amount if it had been done by a higher caliber weapon. But the forensic experts can even find fine mist of blowback that is not seen by the naked eye. Most of the boys that I have seen when they shoot their rifle, firmly plant one foot out in front of them to stabilize them. It becomes habit. So if he was right handed then he would plant his left foot out further, and if left handed, he would plant his right foot out in a stance that gives them more balance. Now that leg or shoe would be closer to the victim's body when the gun was shot so there is a possibility that blood could land there or even brain matter especially if the victim was below them on the floor already wounded.

He was wearing dark clothing so his clothing just by glancing at them when collected may not have been noticeable, if not closely inspected. It really takes a microscope sometimes to find all the blood.

There may not have been any of his shirt. He used a rifle and not a handgun so he would be further away when firing because of the overall length of the gun, than he would have been if a pistol had been used at close range.

imoo

How old do any of you think she is? Romero was 29 years old, right?

They did arrive together. Remember, she asked her husband "where's Vinnie?". He replied, "He's walking into the house right now."

I really want to know who called who here. Given that the couple was divorcing, it seems odd that she would call him at just the right moment. Not impossible, just odd. And it could be that they were attempting to reconcile. More info on this front would be nice.

Second, I would really like to know if either gentleman had life insurance and if so, for how much.

There will no blood spatter with a .22 rifle in normal situations.
