All the big story of walking around the block 10 times that day. Yet no one at all saw him. He said that he waved at Cage, but conveniently, he said that Cage did not see him.

The boy's therapist is Betty Beaumont, 3 times per week at the rate of $70.00 per session + mileage WITH confidentiality.

That doc is a motion/request to get Betty Beaumont, 3 times per week at the rate of $70 per session + confidentiality submitted on January 2 by the defense and uploaded on the website on January 5 . I don't believe the judge has made a ruling on that yet. If he has, it has not been uploaded yet.

You are correct. I'm ahead of the game. I do believe, however, that this will be approved. The judge wanted to know how many sessions per week and did not like the original rate of $100. I think the defense has done all the judge asked.

I hope it will be approved quickly. I believe it should have been done long before now. He has been in custody approximately for 2 months and that is entirely unacceptable for his best interest. He is still a child and not an adult. He has also been found incompetent to stand trial by the defense expert, so I don't see how he could possibly be coping very well without understanding what is happening and going on and why he can't even have a picture of his mother. A host of other issues that need addressed if his best interest are taken into account. Innocent until proven guilty. I still have resonable doubt as to his guilt. The system for juvenille detention is in dire need of restructuring and methods of carrying out what they were set up to do. They were not set up to solely keep an eye on kids that are placed there. Treatment (medical and psychological) of the offender is one pronge of juvenille detention and he is obviously not getting that. Punishment is another prong, but when punishment is administered, there must be understanding and a learning experience for the offender. Punishment is not an excuse for revenge.

Do you know if the "serious double homicide investigation" he is referring to is the the case at hand (Romero house)? If it is, imo, it is not completed, let alone successful.

I know the boy has been evaluated for competency and has requested therapy. When has he had his mental evaluation and when has his therapy with confidentiality begun. They haven't spent money yet on therapy. His competency to stand trial on the defense side showed he was incompetent to stand trial. We don't know the pros side yet. And from my class on psychology and law we learned you have to pretty much have the brain of a grapefruit to be found incompetent. Many, many are evaluated for competency, but very few are found to be incompetent.

I'm sorry, but I don't have as much faith in the courts or the attorneys in this case. The defense has made motions to get a therapist for the boy an to allow for therapy with confidentiality but the court is dragging their feet in allowing it. Sure, he can talk to one without confidentiality, but that involves the boy being afraid of whatever he says being used to hurt him and misconstrued. The court also would not allow the boy to have a photo of his mother with him. So yes, I can believe they would hold the boy for no reason.

I agree all the facts are not in.They really are not in about really anything yet.So we do not know what happened here.The grand mother said the little boy could have done this because she said they were too rough on them.It sounds like she blamed them for being too rough on him.I personally do feel there was abuse and mental abuse to this little boy.I want to know what led up to this.I feel there is much much more to this story.There is a gag order so we do not know any of this yet.

I would consider my nephew to be verbally abused by his father. He's always been active in his life, has shown great interest in my nephew's athletic ability, and in his schoolwork.

He also will cut him down to size verbally, if my nephew doesn't perform to his standards. He will tell him that he's worthless, lazy, etc. He has never laid a hand on his child, yet you cannot tell me that he isn't abusive in the way in which he speaks to him.

BTW, my 7 year old will lie, if he's in trouble. Initially, at least. Self-preservation?

I think the chief may have gotten a little ahead of himself, there. Unless he believes that the "successful investigation" was concluded within two days of the murder, with the arrest of the child.

A serious personnel issue has been handled successfully with no negative impact to the community or department, with a clear message of future expected behavior of all personnel.

THIS is certainly interesting.

Yes, he is referring to the Romero/Romans case. I don't think St Johns has had another homicide in many years.

We don't know if the investigation is completed. It may be and all that is left is for the rest of the forensic results to be returned.

Seems like the investigation is winding down but then it has been ongoing for over two months.

Brewer also requested additional disclosure on the autopsy of the two victims, such as transfer sheets and photos. He added they were also waiting on the additional interview from a St. Johns investigator from prosecution.
Carlyon said the interview did not offer anything of substance. Brewer replied he would still like to see it, to which Roca agreed.

I agree.They did a pitiful job.I'll put this over here too.that article upset me.This video was from a prosecuting attorney.Does this sound like every one thought they did a good job.Avilla knew better to not proceed with this interview.People are saying things like this from the work of the whole police department.

That was on November 18th and the State has already said they aren't going to use the confession.

That does not mean they haven't fully investigated this case. The Judge in another hearing gave them permission to continue so imo he knows that both sides at that time still were investigating these crimes.

After over two months of investigation it is logical that they are close to being through or at least may only be waiting on other forensic testing results. IMO, this is why Wood decided to take a vacation at this time because most everything has been done and turned over.
