Kamille...good catch. Sick way to cash in for so-called fame. Noticed that HM didn't include this in her mass collection of vines. In her vines, she captures her own charm, parties and good times, but not mom's. Mom is always caught on these Vines in an unflattering moment...cursing or drinking or getting a chiropractic adjustment. It's almost like Heather documents Sheila's "bad" behavior on Vine, while Sheila uses 9-1-1 police reports to document Heather's violent outbursts. So very sad for them both.

I think these vines might be all over the place because I have seen the one of Heather being lead away recently under the Heather Mack via a google search about a week and a half ago. There was the entire collection with Sheila, Heather being arrested, the weirdo Squad video and the rest all in one search. I am pretty sure I was just looking at her account though...you never know maybe I just bought all vines with the Heather Mack tag.

Third one in. Shiny tile floor, LE on right side of frame. Called "They took sis man".

You see Tommy in the back of that video for a brief second. And I think you can hear Heather's voice at the beginning of that video...saying something like "you can put anything on the internet..."

You're right in one respect, it goes far beyond being embarassed by her mother...she truly hated her mother. I've seen it with my own (biracial) nieces. The "whiter" of my nieces could identify with her mother better than my other niece- who with her displaced anger, grew to hate her "white" sister. As she got older, she was desperate to relate to her mother, and the hatred became more evident when her African-American father was no longer in the picture. But, unlike Heather, she turned her hatred inward toward self-loathing. A lot of issues when she was younger, better now that she's an adult. I, too, wish she had gotten the help she desperately needed. However, I don't think we can explain away HM's behavior as being a result of one thing or another. Regardless, of her family dynamics, IMHO, she's one mentally screwed up girl.

IDK, HM had a tonne of white girl friends it seems too, if you looked on her vine majority of the likes were from her seemingly well-off white girl besties. Like the teen, modern day versions of Sheila. And her best friend was white, at least one year ago anyway. I seriously think she did have Identity issues....one of her 'likes' on cached version of her Facebook was 'tanning', well she's already tan so no need to do that like her white girl friends. But a TONNE of her 'likes' were things like 'things have changed a lot since you were teenager mom!' -- so funny how it says in James mack Obituary that he loved all music .....EXCEPT hip-hop.

Going back and reading some of the articles I missed, I did not realize when HM broke her mother's arm (info in link) that she also disconnected the phone in the house so that Mrs Mack could not call for help. Clearly evil behavior. Jmo

I wonder how many mothers are living with this type of horror, maybe this case can help just one mom get away from an abusive adult child. Jmt

Did we ever find any school reports about HM acting up or threatening teacher? Or neighbors being treated badly by HM? Or friends? Does she have delinquency reports other than those connected to SM, like petty crimes, stealing, vandalizing property? NO. IMO, no matter who was her parent, she would've acted out.

She doesn't have any mental problems or she wouldn't have friends. She had lots of friends , black and white. She hasn't gone to school for over 2 years & probably went only sporadically before that. HM only wanted "funded freedom" with her buddies.

One of the police reports where she was listed as "missing" was when she hurled expletives at her mother and teacher during a parent/teacher conference and left the building. She didn't return home for a while after that. Another report was called in by a neighbour who then refused to give a witness statement. They called LE about a loud argument and things breaking in the house. I still haven't gotten to the end of the reports to see if there are any other's like that. And of course we have no access to any juvenile or school records. But something tells me the school was glad to see her go when she dropped out.

And lots of murderers with personality disorders had lots of friends. Jodi Arias, Casey Anthony, Joran Van Der Sloot are a few that come to mind.

But... most of CA's friends were imaginary ones... :)

Yes but to me that shows they aren't that "crazy". They are in control of their actions because they know how not be insane around certain people. They let loose only around those they know will take it.

WORD. Real insanity is not like this. Real folks who have severe mental illness do not choose when to "act" so to speak.

Oh for sure HM is not "crazy". A personality disorder combined with an extreme amount of coddling and spoiling from older parents perhaps, but not anything in which she wasn't aware at all times what she was doing, which was working to get her own way. The personality disorder would come into play in that she just didn't care that what she was doing was not appropriate or legal behaviour.

And no amount of therapy was going to change that it seems. She was manipulating everyone around her. At least the adults, or those in authority anyway. We haven't heard from any of her "friends" in the media. No one seems to have wanted to step up and defend her. And I've seen the attempts by the media to find people who knew her to interview. All they found was a couple of kids who used to go to school and play with her when they were young and one of the hip hop rapper dudes that she hangs with now.

She definitely knows right from wrong or SWM would not have ended up in a suitcase. And that is pretty much the main criteria I believe to determine if someone is fit to stand trial. I'd say NPD at the very least. But I only bring this up because on more than one of those police reports SWM kept telling LE that HM was being treated for ________. So what was it?

Agree. Wouldn't we just love to know if she's controlling her "personality disorder" in jail. Cursing or hitting the guards probably won't be tolerated in Bali.

If Heather didn't know right from wrong, she & Tommy wouldn't have worked so hard at getting their passports and trying to flee. Andrea Yates, who was insane, called up 911 and basically confessed.

Not that I'm a shrink, but was thinking Heather might have narcissistic personality disorder...
Symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder
In order for a person to be diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) they must meet five or more of the following symptoms:

Has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)...Check
Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love...check
Believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)...check (we know HM thinks she is special and rules don't apply to her)
Requires excessive admiration...not sure
Has a very strong sense of entitlement, e.g., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations...triple check
Is exploitative of others, e.g., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends...quadruple check
Lacks empathy, e.g., is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others...check
Is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her...not sure
Regularly shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes...check

I don't think it will take her long to realize that she's not going to be able to manipulate anyone in authority that way in Bali. In fact I'm sure she's already figured it out. She'll be sweet as pie and manipulate with "charm" in that instance. She'll likely save her "attitude you know what it do" for weaker inmates when she gets to Kerobokan.

I wonder if we'll ever find out what "disorder" she was supposedly being treated for?
