Exactly. Ashton released his book soon after the verdict. His book served it's purpose .... to discuss the FACTS of the case and the EVIDENCE. He then moved on with his life. Baez, on the other hand is STILL out there peddling his book that is filled with speculation and innuendos.

Baez and mason are the ones always preaching and lecturing that everyone should move on, while they are the ones scoring interviews every other week thrusting her back into the forefront. They say one thing and do another. So which is it ... do they want us to forget about it and move on, or do they want to keep her in the spotlight to advance their own agendas?

Back to the subject of bankruptcy ... I still don't understand how baez can claim that he is owed $500,000. Has this been discussed here at WS and I just missed it?

My understanding is that because he was paid with the ABC money before the trial, he wasn't eligible for payment for his services from her indigent status.

So I bet it was pretty easy for him to throw together a 500K statement for services to carry throw the cost of his services through the hearings and trial. He was hoping to get paid when there was the big interview, movie, blah blah payoff that never happened and I suspect never will.
What's a lawyer like Baez to do?? Try it as a tax write-off and try to paint it as himself in a positive light.....:floorlaugh: as in poor me - all that work defending that poor little girl and I never did get paid - aren't I just a great guy?

Kind of like little jack horner and his sugar plum thumb...
Oh wait...was that little jack horner... :waitasec:

Now that's funny - where was it? Under the adult entertainment section? I was wondering where her lawyer found that sound bite!

I saw it mentioned on several sites when the story of her living in Ocean Woods came out. Here is one article -
http://www.examiner.com/article/casey-anthony-craigslist-post-offers-50k-on-her-whereabouts
This is what they are basing their 'threats' on? Craigs list could soon find out who it is offering this bounty, if it's even real..

  • #1,403
He's not using that as leverage for anything or complaining about it.
...and if you read JA's book, it's Caylee's story that stays forefront in people's minds. Not Casey's. jmo

Thanks Zsazsa - I really did miss that - but craig's list? A judge is seriously thinking some yahoo who wrote a bounty ad on Craig's list was serious?

What nonsense!!

Casey is now expected to be in Tampa next week to answer questions from people who say she owes them money.

:rocker:

Though Casey has been in hiding since she was acquitted of her daughter's murder in 2011, court officials said there is only one way in and one way out of the court building in Tampa. That means Casey will have to walk through the same front door as everyone else.

ha ha ha I heard this morning the case was staying in Tampa and came here to read up. I expected pages and pages and there are only two!

My laughter is about the few pages, not that it remains in Tampa.

Plus, Ashton wrote his book when the media frenzy about the case was still going on. He didn't wait a year like Baez did for the publicity to die down and then reopen the wounds by writing his book. Additionally, there were not numerous inaccuracies in Ashton's book to make his side of the story look better in the eyes of the general public like there were in Baez's book. Of course, there is also the possibility that Baez had to wait so long to write his book because he couldn't find a publisher for it.

IIRC he had to pay for it to be published

OCA's Bankruptcy Attorney told the Judge she receives threats and there was a Bounty on her head

I don't think any evidence was presented to the Judge to back up those assertions...But I could be wrong..Anyone?

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Jeff Ashton, one of the prosecution, THE FIRST to write a book about the case, bringing even more publicity on it?

He wrote the one that the dedication read:
"For Caylee, so no one forgets"

Be that as it may, Jeff Ashton did bring, and continued the media publicity frenzy machine that is Casey Anthony. Like it or not, his boook did contribute.

Craigslist did away with "adult services (entertainment)" back in September of 2010.

Now that's funny - where was it? Under the adult entertainment section? I was wondering where her lawyer found that sound bite!

:waitasec: How can you say that with a straight avatar? The FRENZY started back at day 31 and JA was not the one out in front of the cameras saying crap about Caylee sightings and holding press conferences in front of borrowed gold lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

JB, KC and the A's owned the FRENZY train and the media just reported the train wreck jumping up and down for attention.

JMHO

NEVER any "evidence" to back up "threats".
"threats" and "safety" mentioned on page 3; page 4; page 6; page 7; page 14
FCA's bankruptcy attorney says the judges in criminal [Perry] and civil [Munyon] "ruled that she was in danger and made special provisions for her safety."

Apparently, all it takes is for a lawyer to "say" there are threats, and it is believed by the Judge with NO EVIDENCE.

The "bounty" is briefly mentioned on page 4, in a footnote.
NO backup evidence.

He wrote the one that the dedication read:
"For Caylee, so no one forgets"

When Baez was at a book signing, someone asked him to inscribe in his copy
'To Caylee' - Baez asked "how do you spell that?"

All I am saying is I never saw a picture of Jeff with a big ol honkin Media Binder.

The other reason [besides FCA's "safety concerns"] the bankruptcy judge gave for keeping the case in Tampa was that the 3 Orlando bankruptcy judges were not suitable to take the case. Sounds kind of lame to me.

May also said out that of the three Orlando bankruptcy judges that could have taken the case, one is retiring, another is brand new, and the third is the chief judge with an overwhelming caseload.
