How could anyone believe a word any of them say? I read the Pierce Morgan transcript and just want to scream! They all have an agenda clearly to get her that "Big Interview" with lots of $$$$$ coming her way. I hope it never happens. That is the reason (imo)Mason sticks up for her. Remember before he was part of the team he claimed she was guilty?

I will not watch the video! Couldn't stomach the transcript. UGH I need a break.

Those lawyers are attracted to FCA like flies to sh###t. :floorlaugh:

Cant wait till she eventually turns on them....actually that may have already happened...

I totally understand why someone would think that. I just wonder if Casey's looks and anything she has to offer would be worth all the effort put forth by the Attorney's. There are many attractive women out there, with less baggage, that may become available, without an attorney putting forth quite so much effort. Not to mention these Attorney's are aware there may be accusations floating around out there. IMO

Mason's interview on Pier's Morgan Thursday Jan 31....(last night)

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1301/31/pmt.01.html

Thank you ladonna.
I watched this last night, so I'm glad you posted this as I want to point out a couple of thing's CM is alway's trying to shove on those of us who read every legal document that we could get our hands on.

1. Mason: "America wouldn't have been shocked except for the media hyping it for their own advertising and rating purposes. The case was fairly simple, frankly. After all the things we had to go through, there was no evidence saying Casey killed that child, period. And I don't care what movie plot is dramatized, personal (INAUDIBLE) of somebody else. That's the bottom line."

"The jury saw it, and the lawyers and the judges around the country have seen it. And I'm seeing a great shift in people, starting to understand. You're right. They didn't prove the case. Because they didn't have a case."

2. Mason: "There are those who are committed to believing in spire of the absence of evidence that Casey killed her child and must have had something to do with it. I can't change those people. They're just going to have to die off of old age".
The bolded made me laugh.

3. Mason: And we had a case that was hard fought. We didn't have a judge that was helping us. We had a judge that was very stern in that courtroom about his rulings. We had all of the media hype in the world, as you well know, everybody condemning Casey, proclaiming her guilt until the jury came in and, as you said, shocked the world.
BBM-A. Really? LOL...
BBM-B. Until? Bad choice of a word. I believe she murdered CAYLEE, (CM, she does have a name) to this very day.

4. MORGAN: "What is Casey's relationship now with her family? Obviously, the case, the trial tore them all apart, but has there been any repairing of the damage there"?

MASON: "I don't think so. I know Casey would like to have a normal life, if there is such thing ever available in her future. It's not likely to be with a family that prosecuted her. It's not likely to be with someone who went to a grand jury and testified against her to help get her indicted. It's not likely to be family that did all they could to try to help the state kill her".
I should never forgive those in the family that did that, and I don't think Casey will either.
BBM A. Really?

5. Mason: There are plenty of cowards out there that would try to confront this 105-pound little girl and challenge her because of their ignorance.
BBM: A. I believe she'll be 26 in March, she is not a "little girl", she is a fully grown adult woman.

Mason stating that KC is a 105 pound little girl makes me sick. Caylee was a little girl and she is dead. KC on the other hand was a grown young woman. How dare he call KC a little girl.

I appreciate you reminding me (us) of this because I've only ever heard of him in the FCA case as second chair, appearing to nod off and losing his temper inappropriately, etc. Not very impressive IMO so it's interesting to hear he is respected as a "legal somebody" in Florida.

BBM-I agree. I also formed the opinion that Mason is a very arrogant man. Could this be due to the fact he is approaching the end of his career? I don't know. I do think he has enjoyed a well respected, successful career. Based on what I have read and heard,he is well respected in the legal community. IMO

I will let you decide. :) Read more in link...
He is currently is rated as an "AV" lawyer (the highest possible rating) by Martindale Hubbell, and is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.

How can she owe Baez 500K if he was representing her pro bono and had her declared indigent for costs? Costs which he then claimed from the State of Florida. Isn't that considered double dipping?

Does anybody else remember during the trial when Judge Perry told Baez to be careful about controlling his costs (after the felon was declared indigent) because there are lawyers out there that love to sue defense attorneys to get money back for the State? Just curious if anybody else remembers that. I think it would be awesome if Baez got sued too and had to open his books up for the whole world to see. :please:

I'm as outraged as any of you over the idea that Casey may be able to get away with this bankruptcy filing and just shake all of her debts off and walk away. It's not right under any circumstances.

BUT - if Casey gets away with this then it isn't Casey's fault it's the SYSTEM that should be blamed. Any system that could allow something as egregious as this bankruptcy claim to fly is broken and we should be outraged at that!

Honest, hard working people fall on hard times and end up in debt to the IRS all the time and I don't see any of them getting a pass. Casey will because she has a team of lawyers ready will and able to exploit the system and get her off scot free. IMHO this situation could be fixed if we would all direct our outrage where it belongs - at the inadequate system and the immoral lawyers who game it.

I won't disagree with you that The System frequently seems hopelessly flucked up (i.e. the perps seem to have more rights than the victims), but were it not for Casey Anthony killing her own child, the rest of this would be a moot point. If the adults around her had looked out for Caylee's best interests in the first place, we would all be off discussing other cases, and Caylee would be going to school, having sleepovers and all of the other things a child her age should be enjoying.

Yes. Now he's reinvented himself as Atticus Finch.

He's approaching the end of something, that's for sure. :D

I was under the impression that he was Pro Bono too and then paid by JAC but AZ Lawyer corrected that the other day- apparently they had a private agreement, and we only know that he took $200K from ABC but don't know what he was paid otherwise. All of Casey's costs were paid by JAC once she was declared indigent, but not Baez. who knew?

Many of us thought he was suffering with dementia during the run-up to and parts of the trial. He either couldn't remember what he'd said before or just decided to come up with a new version of the truth.. I've always seen him as very pompous, he certainly seems well past his sell-by date but doesn't realize it..

I honestly don't believe it will happen. She is a pariah and hated now even more than OJ. We all remember what happened when OJ tried to peddle his book (Of course I Did It). HUGE backlash, book deal cancelled and the woman (Judith Reagan, iirc) who brokered the deal lost her job. As I said earlier in this thread, she already played her best hand (selling Caylee's pictures to ABC) and has absolutely nothing to offer. Just like OJ, there is no question as to her guilt and her giving a tell-all interview will only further polarize the public against her. The only people interested in what she has to say are the dozen or so child-killer groupies she has following her on the internet. :banghead: I just want to her and her team of enablers to go away, FOREVER! The only thing I ever want to read about Casey Anthony in the future is her obituary.

If it wasn't for the fact that Caylee was only 2 when she killed her, they would have claimed self defense by now. I expect any day for them to say she was a very disobedient child who went out to the pool alone, despite being told not to by her poor mother... and George encouraged her!

"....except for the media hyping it..."

HUH?!!

Mason must think we all have short memories. Long before this case even went to trial, George and Cindy were all over the airwaves, pointing fingers and playing the victims. And don't even get me started on Baez! Those of us who live in Central Florida and get our local news out of Orlando were bombarded with this stuff on a daily basis before the national media picked it up.

I understand Mason used to have quite a good reputation, until he became that Mumbling Grumpy Old Man Who Yells at Clouds and Flips The Finger.

Re: People magazine; while I wouldn't put it in the same class at the tabloids that scream "Woman has two-headed, 50-lb. alien baby!", they do seem to have a pro-Anthony slant, so I take everything they say with a grain of salt. So is Casey Anthony in a condo in Ocean Woods? Maybe, maybe not. But if she is, now she's been outed and I suspect she'll probably be moving on. Again. Preferably out of Florida! What does she care as long as someone else is paying her bills?

Say, what happened to the Mexican sugar daddy? Remember him? We heard there was some wealthy guy who wanted to rescue this "damsel in distress?" I was hoping it was true and that she'd move to the Land of Manana and eventually end up in a Mexican jail or something. No such luck. Oh well.

I hate to disillusion you but Piers Morgan is cozying up to Mason all the time and he would sell his own mother for a chance at an interview. Look at Adam Longo- he got 5 minutes of whining from her and acts like he deserves a
Pulitzer prize. If you look at his Facebook page there are hundreds of complaints from outraged members and he just feels offended, calls it "the fallout" from just doing his job.

Yes. Now he's reinvented himself as Atticus Finch.

Bwaaah! I just choked on my chocolate chip cookie!
:floorlaugh:

BTW, I have a postcard from Harper Lee! A few years back I wrote her a fan letter and she sent me a thank-you postcard. I cherish it.

OMG, I have been thinking the same way....that eventually Caylee will be portrayed as a problem child so people who need a reason for what happened can consider Casey was stressed out by having such a difficult child, one who was impossible to monitor every second of the day. I mean, it has already been strongly suggested that Caylee drowned herself by going out the door and into the pool on her own. With the total lack of decency they have all displayed so far it is not a stretch to think someone at Team Casey will at some point try to cast more blame on Caylee for her own demise than they already have. Seriously, I am surprised we have not yet heard about how Caylee liked to play with duct tape.

From Mason on the day after Caylee's remains were found :-

"You can pretty well predict there's going to be a life sentence, either a plea and get it over with or have a circus trial, be convicted and get life."

On media appearances " Then all the talking, all the press interviews, the parents going on this show and that show and the lawyer on different shows
establishes they have NO credibility whatsoever."

Snipped for bandwidth. I challenge anyone to find any video, interview, press conference, etc. with any member of the prosecution team during the case. You won't find it. Yet Baez was alway complaining how the prosecution was always trying the case in the media, which wasn't the case at all.
