From Mason on the day after Caylee's remains were found :-
"You can pretty well predict there's going to be a life sentence, either a plea and get it over with or have a circus trial, be convicted and get life."
On media appearances " Then all the talking, all the press interviews, the parents going on this show and that show and the lawyer on different shows
establishes they have NO credibility whatsoever."

Mason statement always made me wonder. What made him change his mind and join the circus, when he seemed to be so certain of a conviction? He was unaware that JB was going to use the molestation as a defense, so what the heck changed Masons mind?

Maybe he has gotten paid for interviews but wasn't he working pro bono also?
People have short memories and CM is counting on that. He thinks no one remembers stuff he said previously.
Your post should be posted somewhere where it can go viral anytime that one speaks of this case because one time it's out of one side of his mouth and the next time it's out of the other. Which only forces me to see that it's actually coming out of another area of his anatomy.
What really bothers me about this bankruptcy thing is that Casey has to be living off funds from somewhere. It has been said that she gets "gifts" from people; some were apparently sending her money in jail and have continued to help her out financially since she got out. But it is difficult to believe she brings in enough that way to live on for this long a time. The cost of living just about anywhere these days, even a modest existence where one never buys anything but the absolute basic necessities, never goes out to eat, etc., is significant. So, IMO, either her parents have been/are funnelling money to her or to her attorneys for her keep...or she is bringing in a lot of cash via gifts. Or both. And if either or both are true, will the bankruptcy court just ignore those amounts not being itemized? It was reported that her filing document claims various gift cards of unknown value. Will the bankruptcy court not question the carp out of that claim?
I hope they do, because I believe they would for anyone else. But I am bothered thinking they won't, because I fully expect this unusual person to get special treatment from yet another court.
The whole thing reeks.
Yep, THE Cheney Mason--has a tremendous amount of clout in the state of Florida. I think he may be key to all the special treatment Casey is receiving.
Mason's interview on Pier's Morgan Thursday Jan 31....(last night)

I think it all comes down to the expected big payday. For any of the lawyers who remain involved with the felon.
Not sure why Mason joined the team other than the idea of a high-profile case appeals to some and even if they do not win there is recognition involved.
Mason never changed his mind about her guilt. He knew she was guilty then and he still knows it. He was trying to get her to cop a plea even during trial--I believe he is the one who wanted her to be psych evaluated well into the trial when he said he tried to reason with her and she said not one word, just stared straight ahead as if she did not even know he was there.
well, dang, how about the coward who confronted a 30-something-pound little girl named Caylee Marie Anthony? we all get to choose which cowards to be concerned about and I've made my choice, thank you very muchThank you ladonna.
I watched this last night, so I'm glad you posted this as I want to point out a couple of thing's CM is alway's trying to shove on those of us who read every legal document that we could get our hands on.
1. Mason: "America wouldn't have been shocked except for the media hyping it for their own advertising and rating purposes. The case was fairly simple, frankly. After all the things we had to go through, there was no evidence saying Casey killed that child, period. And I don't care what movie plot is dramatized, personal (INAUDIBLE) of somebody else. That's the bottom line."
"The jury saw it, and the lawyers and the judges around the country have seen it. And I'm seeing a great shift in people, starting to understand. You're right. They didn't prove the case. Because they didn't have a case."
2. Mason: "There are those who are committed to believing in spire of the absence of evidence that Casey killed her child and must have had something to do with it. I can't change those people. They're just going to have to die off of old age".
The bolded made me laugh.
3. Mason: And we had a case that was hard fought. We didn't have a judge that was helping us. We had a judge that was very stern in that courtroom about his rulings. We had all of the media hype in the world, as you well know, everybody condemning Casey, proclaiming her guilt until the jury came in and, as you said, shocked the world.
BBM-A. Really? LOL...
BBM-B. Until? Bad choice of a word. I believe she murdered CAYLEE, (CM, she does have a name) to this very day.
4. MORGAN: "What is Casey's relationship now with her family? Obviously, the case, the trial tore them all apart, but has there been any repairing of the damage there"?
MASON: "I don't think so. I know Casey would like to have a normal life, if there is such thing ever available in her future. It's not likely to be with a family that prosecuted her. It's not likely to be with someone who went to a grand jury and testified against her to help get her indicted. It's not likely to be family that did all they could to try to help the state kill her".
I should never forgive those in the family that did that, and I don't think Casey will either.
BBM A. Really?
5. Mason: There are plenty of cowards out there that would try to confront this 105-pound little girl and challenge her because of their ignorance.
BBM: A. I believe she'll be 26 in March, she is not a "little girl", she is a fully grown adult woman.
Maybe he has gotten paid for interviews but wasn't he working pro bono also?
No offense but this cracked me up!! :floorlaugh: Because maybe it's a case that HE doesn't remember what he said! :rolling:

Was he asleep during Cindy's perjury?
It's also disturbing to hear him say there was no evidence. There was little forensic evidence because of her actions misleading police and searchers. She bought herself time, knowing that would help cover the murder. Not exactly the same thing.

Snipped for bandwidth. I challenge anyone to find any video, interview, press conference, etc. with any member of the prosecution team during the case. You won't find it. Yet Baez was alway complaining how the prosecution was always trying the case in the media, which wasn't the case at all.
...and when I was reading about why Adam Longo got the interview, he was quick to say that Casey in some way felt betrayed with the last Piers Morgan interview...and now another interview? Well, if it was a new one...then I'm very confused.
"It's my understanding from both Cheney Mason and Casey Anthony personally that the conversation with Piers Morgan was off the record, and she told me she was upset when she saw the program air where everything she said to him was paraphrased," Longo said.
