Yes, in one of the recent news pictures he used one....but not all the time...sometimes it is a thin brown cane.....I will try and locate the picture....if I rememeber right...the tip was red the cane was brown I believe.....not sure but I remember wondering why he did not use the red tip cane all the time. Some of my friends fiends use fold up canes...but all are white with red tip. I will search in the morning....I am tired,,,,long day and headed to bed....sorry. maybe one of thEOTHER WS might have the pic....but I will check.

I haven’t seen him use a red-tipped cane, either. He uses the ones he has, in my opinion, for help walking, almost like he has a hip or leg problem — not “tap-tap-tapping” as if he is completely blind (because he also has people waking with him), but as though he’s using is to help with an unsteady walk.

Heck, I’ve used all kinds of things, from throwaway sticks, a lightweight makeshift cane to chair backs, etc, to steady my walk when I have problems with balance or pain when I walk. I don’t see anything overtly misleading or dishonest about how he’s using his cane. But that’s just me.

I'm sure a Judge has access to health information on Bill Cosby, but the public doesn't have a right to know. I can tell by looking at him that Cosby's right eye is very cloudy and likely limits his vision in that eye.

I completely agree, Bette. I don’t really understand the preoccupation with “how blind is blind?” and how/why BC uses a cane.

Without access to his medical records, which you’re right, the judge knows more about that because he has a right to, none of his behavior (legal blindness and using a cane as an aging man) seem exceptionally unusual or sudden, imo.

But everyone’s mileage may vary, obvs. I just don’t see anything too weird about it in general.

BC's cane.

Is this how people who need a can for support / walking and or vision problems hold their cane as they walk?

I guess I just dont trust him. I watched his show sometimes , but something about him gave me the creeps. I never could figure out why.

I recently heard his daughter Erinn Cosby accused Mike Tyson of rape and he talked her out of pressing charges. https://www.washingtonpost.com/life...e6-88d0-6adee48be8bc_story.html?noredirect=on
Sounds familiar.
I don't like to talk about this case because it reveals how twisted rape becomes when it's twisted through the prism of black identity within the black community (which I am a member of) by members of the black community. There are twists and turns not visible to those outside the black community. So many black men defend other black men while denying black women justice and it's got to stop. Black men like to preach about how acrimony between the sexes is preventing us from moving forward as a people but too many times the suffering of black women (misogyny noir) is ignored for the "greater" goal of advancing the black race. In other words a black woman who is raped by a black man will be pressured by the community to keep quiet so as to not add to the black man's troubles or in Cosby's case to ruin the legacy of one of our greatest members: the reaction within the black community has been really harrowing.
It's an added twist that arose from the unique pressures and challenges of African Americans. Robin Givens accused Mike Tyson of rape and was "disowned" by the black community much like Anita Hill before her. Too often black women are thrown under the bus under the guise of protecting the black race from persecution.
It's very depressing.

I don't want to open up a race discussion, I'm just adding an extra variable a lot of people might not know about.

Cosby juror: Comedian’s own words led to his conviction

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A juror on the Bill Cosby sexual assault retrial case says the comedian’s own words sealed his fate.

Harrison Snyder, in an interview aired Monday on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” said that it “wasn’t an open and shut case.” But the 22-year-old says Cosby’s deposition — in which he admitted giving women drugs to have sex with them — was the evidence that made him believe he was guilty...

Cosby juror: Comedian’s own words led to his conviction
Associated Press

Philadelphia – Speaking out for the first time, the jury that convicted Bill Cosby at his sexual assault retrial said Monday its decision was influenced only by what happened in court. The youngest member of the panel said the comedian’s own words sealed his fate.

Harrison Snyder, 22, said in an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America” that Cosby’s deposition – in which he admitted giving women drugs to have sex with them – was the evidence that made him believe he was guilty.

“I think it was his deposition, really. Mr. Cosby admitted to giving these quaaludes to women, young women, in order to have sex with them,” Snyder said...

If that is true (according to MSM link above) about his daughter being raped and he encouraged her to drop it - I am even more disgusted than before. I cannot imagine how she felt telling her father that and expecting support from her father. OMG

On a quick personal note, I told my father that my cousin molested me and he said that I dreamed it. Yeah, that's what a kid dreams of.

Something must be horribly wrong with Cosby. He could have had several or many willing partners, but that didn't get it for him apparently.

I read here that some of these women were drugged in his own home with his wife upstairs or in another part of the house. *sigh* Maybe she didn't know. IDK.

Mister Happy I am on my Apple lap top and of course it updated....I lost all ability to copy and paste. As soon as I can get this fixed I will post all links....so sorry. Just another computer headache.

I will say this quickly. In researching, I was taken in by 'fake news' by BC and his team. His thin brown cane is NOT a cane for the blind. What I saw was the thin brown cane wrapped with duct take that gives the illusion it was a cane for the blind. I thought the bottom part was painted red but it was just brown like the top part above the duct tape. BC in the video clips etc that I want to link to never uses it like a blind person.....I have several friends who are blind and I asked them questions. They all lost their eye site later in life and went to classes to learn how to use the can properly. BC carries the cane never uses it.

As for BC using the cane for support, that is not so either. There is height and weight restrictions on canes that are used for any type of support. I use a cane daily. The canes are adjusted to a persons height and then the correct cane is chosen for strength. So looking at BC and just guessing his height and weight he would be using a cane XLRG (220-300 lbs) or a XXLRG (200-500 lbs). He does not use the cane to support any weight.

A few of the articles call this cane a 'prop cane'.

Not being able to give the direct link....here are some of the news titles I found pictures and videos plus info on...until I can get my cut and paste to work....

Classy Walking Canes, Radar On Line, The Sun, The Daily Mail, Inside Edition, CNN....just a few....now back to my cut and paste problem.....sorry and calling Apple Support

Links to BC with taped cane....and how he does not use it for any reason. Shows why when I looked I mistook it for a cane for the blind.....it is not. There are more than just three links but this should be enough

Yes, this is one of the pictures of BC 'fake cane' IMOO....cannot be legally used as a cane for the blind and it surely cannot be used to help with balance or support any weight. Thank you for posting.

I hadn’t noticed the tape on the cane before.
Looks like it’s already been broken.

So the day after the verdict, I was in the reception area of my office waiting for a meeting to start, so to make small talk I asked my coworkers if they'd heard the verdict.

Me: so did you hear about Cosby?

Receptionist: no what happened?

Me: found guilty on I think three counts

Receptionist: oh no!

Me: "oh no" like "oh no I think he's innocent" or "oh no that's awful he did that?"

[Other coworker shoots me a look]

Receptionist: I don't think he did it!

Me: oh. How come?

Receptionist: well the reason I think that is because they (victims) all kinda came out at the same time, like one after the other.

Me: [ignoring pleading expressions from other coworker who knows how I am] I thought of that as a sort of "safety in numbers" thing? Didn't he admit to drugging women?

Receptionist: I think once one or two came out the rest saw a chance at a payday and to take down someone in power. [muttered something victim blamey about agreeing to be drugged or something]

Me: [smiles at other coworker who is hoping I'm going to shut up] it's interesting to hear others' perspectives.

And then I did shut up.

It's weird to me that the reasoning for being suspicious is that more than one person came forward. I'm curious what the opinion is when only a few come forward?

Bill Cosby jury explains its guilty verdict:
http://www.philly.com/philly/news/c...dium=social&cid=Philly.com+Facebook&mobi=true

Jury Statement:

“In a country built on a profound belief in the power of its citizens, few duties are more important than those of individuals asked to serve as fair and impartial jurors in our great justice system. Guided by the essential notion that all men are innocent until proven guilty, we, the jurors of the recent Cosby trial, are proud to say — with 100% conviction — that each of us performed our duties with firm adherence to these sacred principles.

“After thoughtful and meticulous consideration of the information and evidence provided to us, we came to our unanimous verdict. Our decision was not influenced in any way by factors other than what we heard and saw in the courtroom. Not once were race or the #metoo movement ever discussed, nor did either factor into our decision, as implied in various media outlets.

"Simply put, we were asked to assess the credibility of Ms. Constand’s account of what happened to her, and each one of us found her account credible and compelling. Our request for review of certain evidence during the deliberation process was a matter of due diligence; our thorough discussion of the evidence led to a decision with which we felt certain, but our collective commitment to the process called for even further confirmation. After that second review, we had absolutely no reservations. We used our diverse backgrounds and life experiences to broaden our individual perspectives for a thorough understanding of all that was presented. Each of us spoke of the weight of our responsibility — we understood the consequences to human lives, to an American icon, and to all who are victims and we knew we needed to be comfortable with our decisions in order to be able to sleep at night with clear consciences. Each of us is walking away with that sense of peace, knowing we performed our duty in the manner it deserved.

“The burden of sequestration for this Philly-spirited team of 18 was made lighter by the camaraderie of the group and the support and graciousness of the sheriffs and other court staff. These tireless stewards of the court went so far as to give those of us missing our four-legged family members a little taste of home with daily visits from Turks, the comfort dog who responds to commands that are spelled out and who made some very long days just a little bit more comfortable. While their work is serious, those who serve in the Montgomery County courts ensure that all called to play a role in that work are treated with respect and kindness.

“While we are honored to have taken on this unique and important task, and are proud of the job we did, we are each anxious to return to our normal lives and ask for privacy and respect as we turn our attention back to the colleagues, friends, and family whose sacrifices in our absence were, in many cases, larger than our own. Thank you to all who contributed, directly or indirectly, to this right and just outcome.”

It doesn't matter if it's one or one hundred, the go-to stance is always "she's probably just trying to get money out of him."

This is what rape culture looks like.

BBM. Rape isn't about whether the perpetrator has access to willing partners or not. It's an act of violence and dominance over another human being.

I realize that. I didn't make my point very well. He had power, money, and many other things. Yet he chose to do these things. It is sick and despicable. It was about power over his victims and humiliation. Apologies for not making my point well.

That cane looks too thin to support him. It looks too short to reach the ground without him leaning over (again, as in... look at me I'm so hunched and frail). It looks like a sham. And why the tape? If it broke, he couldn't afford a new/ better one if it is so badly needed? BAH

His acting job of making himself look frail and weak is becoming a trend.

The California Serial killer "Golden State Killer" pulled the same act recently when he went to court for his first appearance. He shows up in a wheelchair and whispered like a mouse.

LE witnesses that staked him out right before his arrest saw him working at his house and was fine. He was also seen by them doing about 100 MPH on his motorcycle.

I agree its a sham that these types try to pull to get sympathy from judges jury or the public to get people on their side. We need to be smarter than that and see what they are pulling. To me it is more evidence that they are liars.

When BC blew up with curse words at the prosecution attorney that showed his true energetic self. LOL

Similar tactics pulled by other defendents in cases.

I think one of the attorneys in the courtroom when BC blew his stack said, 'now you've seen just a bit of what he's really like' (paraphrasing).

As posted upthread, he sold said plane 2 weeks ago and another is sheltered in a numbered company.

FWIW, many years ago before BC was on tv, when he was only known for comedy and had a few records out....my spouse and I walked right into him at JFK airport. He looked terrified as he heard all of the people behind us coming from the plane.

It was our first anniversary, our first trip to NYC and we were first off the plane. As we hurried along the tunnel area, there was Bill Cosby in a huge, very expensive fur coat looking terrified.

He muttered about being told no one was coming that way and he dashed into a nearby phone booth (am I aging myself here?) and asked, pleaded with us to surround it and not say a word to the other passengers.

We were a couple of 20 somethings, casually dressed...and because I WAS a fan, we did it.

We stood there to 'protect him from his fans', thus making us late for getting luggage and at the end of the line for cabs.

Once the people had dispersed, he came out of the booth and never even said thank you.

I knew he came to a Toronto tailor for shirts a couple of times a year and wanted, at one point, to go down there and get his autograph (by then he was huge on tv) but my spouse always said......if he cannot thank us for helping him, to H#LL with him. Now, Im glad I didn't bother.....its not worth a plug nickel.

I do hope he does jail time, he does deserve it.

At least I know the man can freak out. I have seen him looking very frightened and its good to know he may feel and look that way again. For much more serious reasons.......go to jail rapist, go to jail.

At least he should be on the sex offender list by now. The great Bill Cosby, drugs them to control them.

How the mighty do fall.

  • #340
But why drug women? He could have got all that he wanted with willing partners. Why did he have to render them semi conscious? I don't get that at all.
