The questions that were put to prospective jurors — to assess their view of the case and any bias they might have — are still covered under a publication ban. That will be lifted, Justice Andrew Goodman reiterated Monday, only when the trial begins and they are certain no more jurors need to be chosen.

With a jury pool of 1,800 people, there are still outstanding panels scheduled to be called in if need be.

Otherwise, the trial will begin as scheduled on Monday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m.

Staffers at the John Sopinka courthouse are bracing for an onslaught of interest from both the media and the public in relation to the case. Even though the trial will be held in the building's largest courtroom, an overflow room with a high definition stream of the proceedings is being set up to accommodate extra onlookers.

Members of Bosma's family were once again in the courtroom to watch on Monday. They sat in the back, far away from the two accused, sitting in the prisoner's box.

I thought only accredited journalists were allowed to tweet from the courtroom?

We need to take care of our jurors.

We need to provide them with more than instructions and sandwiches at the end of a murder trial. We place on them an enormous responsibility — to bear witness to a crime and sit in judgment of their peers — and yet in most cases we do nothing to help them deal with the psychological fallout of that daunting task.

Four and a half more days and the Crown will paint the picture of why, who, what, where and when. DM has been in jail for 992 days as of today and MS 980 days. Will they be found guilty of first degree murder of Tim? Time will tell. I put my faith in the hands of the twelve jurors who will make their decisions, based on the facts and truth of what happened to Tim in those final hours of his life.

These jurors lives are going to be forever changed, and I pray for them to have the strength needed to face the evidence that will, no doubt come as a shock to them. Three to four months is a good chunk of time that they have to put their lives aside to do their civic duty in order to see that justice is served. I wish them well and hope they know how much their dedication is appreciated.

May 7th, 2013, when the news broke on MSM about the loving husband, father, son and dear friend, who was missing, that he had not returned home the night before, from taking two male strangers on a test drive in his Dodge Ram truck, which he had listed on Kijiji and AutoTrader, everyone who learned about his disappearance waited with bated breath, hoping and praying TB would be found safe; that there was just a bad misunderstanding. As days slipped by, sadly we would all learn the truth. Accidents don't find victims burned beyond recognition in a case such as this. This was deliberate. Carried out to get rid the truth; TB was murdered. Evil does lurk amongst us.

Rest in peace Tim. Justice will prevail. You did not die in vain. May your loved one, who are also victims stay strong and united now and forever.

All MOO.

I certainly hope the jurors are able to sift through the information provided and be able to separate the real evidence from the speculative. I feel we need to get to the truth in cases and I hope the jurors are strong enough to decipher what is presented to them. Even though people in general may not be expected to presume innocence, I myself hold that belief and I am going to maintain that personal stance throughout the trial until such time as there may be any evidence to alter my stance. I believe my opinion is as valid as any other and my personal preference to stay neutral at the outset is simply that, my choice and my own preference. :twocents:

I'm confident the jurors will do just fine with the information provided.

I thought only accredited journalists were allowed to tweet from the courtroom?

I believe this is correct. Everyone in the gallery, with the exception of press, will be asked to turn their phones off. Anyone caught using them will likely be asked to leave. No photos are allowed of course.

There will be information that members of the press and gallery are privy to but the jurors are not during the course of the trial. This information cannot be published. Anywhere, by anyone. Including on this and other public forums.

This is the reason only the press are allowed to use cell phones and other electronic devices in the courtroom. They are well aware of the rules and restrictions.

Hmm SuperDuper...I felt the need to clarify my post made about a week ago.. (I think..)...Members in here can use tweeter. But they are COPYING the reporters Tweets .....They are NOT in the courtroom...If you have a tweeter account you can follow the reports ..and see their tweets off twitter. I did it for most of the Tori trial several years ago.. There are several members that do that here on Websleuthers . It is very fast pace when the trial starts and extremely emotional .I found it really helps when the jury was working out the verdict in
Tori Trial. It becomes extremely tense. So it does become helpful if more than 1 person is posting off Twitter. I am busy Tuesday Morning but will start when I get home.I hope this helps you all understand. I know many ppl do not understand how Twitter would work. Hang in there everyone....I think the truth with Prevail...and I am sure everyone wants Justice for Tim Bosma and his family...I hope this clarifies HOW TWITTER works in here...Take care Robynhood.

Attending the trial By Molly Hayes and Susan Clairmont

Can I bring my phone into the courtroom?
You can bring it in, but unless you're a lawyer, police officer or journalist covering the case, it must be completely turned off.

It is against the law to take any pictures in a courthouse — period.

Only accredited journalists are allowed to tweet from the courtroom because they are expected to know the laws regarding court reporting. A breach of the law could result in a contempt of court charge and/or a mistrial.
