Breaking news in the LISK case

That's a good point.

If the dog that found the remains tore the bag open, they might not be able to tell whether the necklace was with the remains or not.

We should also keep in mind that lots and lots of people of all races like Asian jewelry these days. It could have been anything from a birthday gift to a souvenir of a visit to a Chinese restaurant.

Does it not also state that the clothes were found outside the bag? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
On one hand, I was thinking that LE will not release if the bag was burlap or not. There were some arguments within LE that Dormer released that info in the first place after the GB4 were found. I believe it was Spotta who criticized him for that. Maybe this time they are keeping that info under wraps. We may never know if the new body is wrapped in burlap or in a bag . There was and still is confusion if the GB4 were wrapped in burlap or placed in burlap sacks. We might just have to suffice with LE just saying there is a connection to the LISK case. We can add 2 and 2 together and only get 3.9 . And after all the bad reporting in the past about this case, I tend not to put much faith in the MSM reports unless there is a direct quote from LE. And even then I am skeptical.
So, necklace in, necklace out. Body wrapped, body in bag. Burlap or plastic. I'm sure LE will not release this info. Frustrated rant. Sorry.

Totally agree with you on all points :p

LE apparently didn't want to bag info out, because msm had already reported it before LE said they wouldn't comment on that.

I wonder if they think he might have changed his methods because he knew they were onto the old ones.

Let's not get confused here. 480 Forest Avenue is, as shown previously, an old, 2-story detached home. The ad for Locust Valley Executive Center, claiming that same address...
http://www.davincimeetingrooms.com/new-york/locust-valley-meeting-rooms/846

...shows a photo of a building that is down the block from that house. It should be, roughly, 179 Locust Avenue, and the sign outside that says "Forest Executive Center" is, in the Google photo, "Gannett Fleming":
http://goo.gl/maps/T6kpV

If, through that Google street view, you "turn right" and look up the road, you'll see the true 480 Forest Ave. It is at this "executive center", I would think, and not at the suburban house, where one could rent out a room.

Gannett Fleming is a global engineering services company that does not appear to presently have an address in Locust Valley:
http://www.gannettfleming.com/officeslist-all.asp

Edit: Further, it looks like Gannett Fleming was also citing the address as 480 Forest Ave., so it might be a situation where the old house is "E Forest" or "N Forest" or something like that.

Google maps shows the wrong property (the private house). That's why I passed by the wrong location last. I couldn't see the address b/c it was dark. Just passed by again and 480 is on the corner of Forest and Lattingtown Rd. It's a commercial office space.

Here is something scary I forgot to add...

Anyone can book a meeting room at that location for $50/hour-

That is the type of place that a start-up 🤬🤬🤬🤬 movie production company (or anyone pretending to be one) would hold their auditions (it's a step up and more convincing than a hotel room).

Also note that there was an Asian massage parlor not too far from the location of the body. I checked Google maps and it looks like it was located down the street, east of the body location through Bayville.

I've also found that not too far from the body location, in Locust Valley, there was a site for illegal immigrants to congregate and find work as day laborers.

https://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/27/nyregion/27immig.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

I also note that the area of Roosevelt Ave. is a well-known area for Asian prostitution. Check out this article about a woman who was ferried to Long Island for sex with illegal immigrants:

http://www.wnyc.org/articles/wnyc-news/2011/aug/15/prostitution-plagues-queens/

"Trevino, 48, said within a week of arriving in New York, a woman who allegedly lured her to the city told her she’d be cleaning offices along with three others. But once she arrived, she said she was driven to a secluded area that she believes was Long Island.

That night, she said she was with 52 men.

Trevino said most of the men paying for sex were Latino immigrants from places like Guatemala and Mexico."

My guess is that this case is probably unrelated to LISK, and may be related to migrant workers and inner city prostitution spilling out to the Long Island suburbs.

Just a thought.

OK, Sleuthers, I have a case for you to solve. a woman is found dead and raped. they find 8 different sets of DNA/Semen on her. What do you think happened?

Was all the dna obtained from semen?

Wrong! What happens is this nut job gets hookers to keep the condoms from their customers and pays $5 per. He then goes out and rapes and kills a gal and spills all the semen over her body.

WHAT WAS THE POINT OF MY QUESTION?

It goes to show you that you figure these folks out logically, so don't try,

If I remember it correctly it was a hooker that told a cop what this nut job did. They put 2 and2 together and came up with the perp. Luck being at the right place to speak to the right gal.

That was not a case I worked on. I got that when I was invited to Hollywood by the folks at NYPD Blue. Two Brooklyn detectives came the next day and told David Milch about this story. I am pretty sure they used it in the show. BTW, most of those stories on Blue were based on actual events.

This is NOT about the LISK case, but I don´t know where else to post it.

I post it due to that it concernes LI police corruption, LI police covering up crime due to a crook’s father was a wealthy donor to the Nassau County police foundation:

Opening arguments began today in the case of a former Long Island deputy police commissioner charged covering up a burglary — because the crook’s father was a wealthy donor to the Nassau County police foundation.

Now-retired defendant William Flannagan is also charged with allegedly quashing the crime to get expensive gifts from the thief’s rich dad.

Here is more on that case:

Wow MK, did this come at the right time. I've been around here since only last summer. I have done pretty well with following cases that have ended tragically. I have gotten a little bummed but have bounced back. I'm in the middle of one case where I'm not liking things at all, the way they are going. I believe someone to be innocent who is not being treated as such and things that are allowed to be said to me are inappropriate. I just keep thinking if he's innocent, this is sooo wrong.

With that, I was over on other case of a little one who no one knows the outcome on, and I just lost it last night and I've been feeling the affects of it today. I'm been down all day. And I was thinking that maybe I need to take a break from all this because as you said, we are down in the trenches all the time, dealing with the worst in people. I've been doing a lot of soul searching today of why I'm here and what I'm accomplishing.

I needed this pep talk about how it gets to others, just so I don't feel so alone.

Thanks for that.

It's very hard to predict which cases will take an emotional toll on you, but I've learned to recognize personal warning signs. These are some of mine, yours may be different.

1. Frequent tears.
2. Short temper with friends and family.
3. Starting to feel that a case rests soley on my shoulders, despite the fact that, intellectually, I know that's not true.
4. Obsessing over a case to the point where I'm losing sleep.
5. Inability to emotionally engage in real life activities due to the fact that the case is with me ALWAYS.
6. Not meeting real life responsibilities.
7. Withdrawing from real life relationships.
8. Allowing the ugliness of the case to color how I view life in general.

If I start to see any of those warning signs, I step off a case, force myself to re-engage in real life, and then slowly come back to WS's and pick a missing person who needs to be indentified. There's always work to be done here, so I do what I'm able to emotionally handle at any given time. And I've learned to simply accept that I can't change the outcome of a case, no matter how much I hold onto my anger, sadness and disappointment. You HAVE to let go at some point, and the sooner the better, from my experience.

Hang in there, Honey. You DO learn coping skills as you go along. :)

You know, the more I think about it, the more I'm wondering what the heck LE has that even makes them suspect this Lattingtown body might be related LISK. It can't simply be because the body was dumped on the shoreline...bodies turn up in all kinds of places. At this point, they can't even say with certainty that it's a female, but they think it's possible it might be the work of LISK? Based on what?!

Just doesn't add up.

Unless, of course, the remains were found in burlap.
